Stellar Cash Blown Away Slot Review
A twister is tearing across a tropical lagoon, and a beachful of cartoon castaways is holding on for dear life. That’s the scene in Light & Wonder‘s Stellar Cash Blown Away: bamboo and rope frame the reels, a motorboat sits abandoned on the sand, and a cow is about to have a very bad day.
The base game is the best part of this slot, and that’s not something you can often write about a jackpot game. The tornado makes it so: a wild on reel 5 that triggers respins and strips royals off the reels on ordinary spins.
Around it sit 25 lines on a 5×4 grid, 10 free games with a multiplier that climbs to 7x, and a six-level shooting gallery with four fixed jackpots. Huff n’ More Puff and Invaders Takeover cover similar ground on the same shelf.
Base Game, Symbols and Paytable
Thirty coins plays 25 lines, and all wins start on the leftmost reel and pay left to right across consecutive reels. The premium symbols are the characters. Royals from A down to 9 fill out the lower end, and the tornado prunes them as it goes.
Symbol pays are multiples of the total bet, not the line bet:
- Sailor (red hat): 8.3333x for five, 2.1667x for four, 1x for three, 0.3333x for two
- Green character: 5x for five, 1.6667x for four, 0.8333x for three, 0.1667x for two
- White bird / penguins: 4x for five, 1.3333x for four, 0.8333x for three
- A, K, Q: 2.6667x for five, 1x for four, 0.3333x for three
- J, 10, 9: 2.3333x for five, 0.6667x for four, 0.1667x for three
- Boat scatter: 125x for five, 20.8333x for four, 4.1667x for three, 0.8333x for two
Because those multiples are of the total bet, they read smaller than they are. Five sailors at the minimum stake returns a touch over eight times your money. The scatter is the richest symbol on the board, out-paying even the sailor at every count from two upwards.
The Wild Walrus substitutes for everything except the scatter, the tornado and the Stellar Cash symbol. It’s a plain, dependable wild with no tricks attached. All the mischief on this reel set belongs to the tornado.
Tornado Respin
The tornado appears on reel 5 only, and any tornado landing in the base game triggers a respin. Every subsequent tornado keeps the respins coming. It’s a wild too, substituting for all symbols except the scatter.
The clever part is what else it does: each time the tornado lands, it removes the lowest-value royal symbol for the rest of the respins. Remove enough royals and the reels fill with characters, which is where the respin chain starts paying properly. The removals carry over into free games as well.
So a single respin sequence can escalate. The longer the tornado keeps landing, the better the reels get.
Free Games
Landing three or more boat scatters awards 10 free games with prizes up to 7x. The scatter only appears in the base game, so the round can’t retrigger the usual way – the tornado does that work instead.
If one lands on the final free game, a respin is awarded, and every further tornado during that respin adds another. Inside the round, the multiplier is the whole story. It climbs when the cow is caught by the tornado; if the cow runs away, no multiplier is awarded for that catch. Six tornadoes collected gets you to the full 7x.
The two mechanics stack. Any royals the tornado removed before or during the round stay gone, so the reels are already leaning towards the premium characters while the multiplier is still climbing. A good free games session here is one where the tornado keeps finding the cow.
Stellar Cash Bonus
The shooting gallery is where the game’s name comes from. Three Stellar Cash symbols on reels 3, 4 and 5 in the base game are the way in. The symbol can’t be substituted, the trigger isn’t dependent on bet size, and it can’t fire during respins or free games.
The round itself is a six-level shooting gallery. At each challenge level you pick from the icons presented and shoot: a prize, a check mark that advances you, or an X that costs a life. Three Xs and it’s over.
Clear all six levels and you reach the Jackpot Level, choosing spaceships until you match three of a kind. The jackpots are fixed rather than progressive, and they aren’t multiplied by your bet. At the baseline 1.50 stake the four tiers pay:
- Mini: 20
- Minor: 100
- Major: 1,000
- Grand: 5,000
Level prizes scale with the bet multiplier. The credit prizes range from a minimum of 50 to a maximum of 1,000 at bet multiplier one, stepping up to a minimum of 400 and a maximum of 2,800 at bet multiplier eight. Anything above eight rises in direct proportion to those eight-step values.
Staking more changes the arithmetic in one of two ways. A higher bet multiplier either improves your chance of reaching a jackpot or increases the jackpot prizes themselves.
Our Honest Verdict
Overall Rating: 7.8/10
Sitting down at Stellar Cash Blown Away means sitting down with the tornado. Nearly everything you do funnels back to reel 5, waiting for the twister to start stripping royals and stacking the reels, and that’s the reason to choose it over plainer jackpot slots: the reels themselves change as a session runs.
Its strength is escalation. Respin chains get better the longer they run, and free games arrive with the reels already tidied. The weakness is what’s underneath: eight-and-a-bit times the bet for the top line win means ordinary spins pay pocket money.
And the jackpot road is a long six levels with three lives to spend on it. For jackpot hunters and anyone who likes a reel set that improves the longer you stay, this is an easy recommend. Anyone after quick bonuses or big line wins will find the beach quiet between twisters. The weather on this island comes in on reel 5, and when it arrives, it’s worth being there for.
Stellar Cash Blown Away FAQs
-
How does the Tornado Respin work in Stellar Cash Blown Away?
Any tornado landing in the base game triggers a respin, and every further tornado continues the chain. Each time it lands, the tornado also removes the lowest-value royal symbol for the remaining respins, and it acts as a wild on reel 5. -
How do you trigger the free games in Stellar Cash Blown Away?
Three boat scatters anywhere on the reels start the round of 10 free games, with prizes multiplied up to 7x. The scatter only appears in the base game. During the round, the tornado can increase the multiplier if it catches the cow, and a tornado landing on the last free game awards a respin that can extend the round. -
What is the Stellar Cash Bonus?
The bonus is a six-level pick-and-shoot round, entered by landing three Stellar Cash symbols on reels 3, 4 and 5 in the base game. Complete all six levels to reach the Jackpot Level, where you match three spaceships to win Mini, Minor, Major or Grand. -

No. The Mini, Minor, Major and Grand jackpots are fixed prizes that aren’t multiplied by your bet. At the baseline 1.50 stake the tiers pay 20, 100, 1,000 and 5,000 respectively, and a higher bet multiplier either improves your chance of reaching a jackpot or increases the jackpot prizes. -
