Sweet Powernudge Slot Review
A lollipop taller than the reels and marshmallow clouds behind them, and the game still can’t sit still: Sweet Powernudge is a candy slot where nothing explodes. Where the genre’s usual tumbles blow winning blocks apart, Pragmatic Play built this one to sink instead – every win nudges the reels down one notch and pays again, which makes it the rare cluster game where a single spin can keep earning long after it lands.
It runs on a 6×5 grid where symbols pay in connected blocks of five or more, with medium volatility and an RTP of 95.01%. Wins are capped at 5,000x the bet. Mechanically it sits closest to the studio’s own Sugar Supreme Powernudge and Aztec Powernudge, with a look that chases the same audience as Sweet Bonanza. Stakes run from 0.20 to 240 per spin.
Base Game & Features
Wins don’t use paylines. Any symbol pays when five or more copies land connected horizontally or vertically, and bigger blocks pay more. Four tiered sweets sit above the four royals, and the pays below are the game’s own paytable values.
- Red/brown sweet – the top payer: 2.00 at five symbols, climbing through 3.00 (six), 4.00 (seven), 8.00 (eight), 12.00 (nine), 24.00 (10-11) and 40.00 (12-14) to 200.00 for blocks of 15 or more
- Green jelly: five pays 1.50, rising to 2.00, 3.00, 6.00 and 9.00 at nine symbols, then 18.00 for 10-11, 30.00 for 12-14 and 150.00 at 15+
- Orange/yellow sweet – from 1.00 for five up to 100.00 for the biggest blocks, taking in 1.50, 2.00, 4.00 and 6.00 on the way, plus 12.00 (10-11) and 20.00 (12-14)
- Pink/purple sweet: 0.80 at five, 1.00 at six, 1.50 at seven, 3.00 at eight, 4.50 at nine, then 9.00, 12.00 and 80.00 for 15 or more
- A – the best royal, worth 0.60, 0.80, 1.00, 2.00 and 3.00 across five to nine symbols, then 6.00 (10-11), 6.00 (12-14) and 60.00 at 15+
- K: 0.40 for five, 0.60 for six, 0.80 for seven, 1.60 for eight and 2.50 for nine, with the top tiers paying 5.00, 8.00 and 40.00
- Q – block pays of 0.30, 0.40, 0.60, 1.20, 2.00, 4.00, 6.00 and 30.00 from five symbols up to 15 or more
- J, the smallest payer: five copies return 0.20, six 0.30, seven 0.50, eight 1.00, nine 1.50, with 3.00 (10-11), 4.00 (12-14) and 20.00 at 15+
Powernudge Feature
The nudge is the engine of the whole game. Whenever a winning combination lands, the win is paid and every reel containing at least one winning symbol drops down one position, bringing a new symbol in from the top. The game then pays again for any winning combinations on screen.
This keeps repeating. The nudge sequence only ends when no new winning combinations appear, so a single spin can pay several times as blocks shift and fresh symbols slide into place. It’s the same chain-reaction idea as a cascade, just vertical and one step at a time.
Multiplier Reel
Alongside the six main reels sits an extra reel holding nothing but multiplier values: x1, x2, x3, x4, x5 or x10. In the base game it sits disabled. At random spins it switches on, and it then spins and nudges along with the rest of the reels for that spin and every resulting nudge.
After each spin, the value in its middle position is added to a running total multiplier, which applies to the win of the current spin and nudge. Once the spin and its nudges finish, the total resets to x1 and the reel switches back off.
Scatter Symbols
The scatter appears on all reels and pays nothing on its own. Its job is collection: scatters gathered during each spin and its nudges count towards the free spins round, and there’s no wild in this game to bridge the gaps.
Sweet Powernudge Free Spins & Bonus Buys
Free Spins
Collect four or more scatters in a single nudge sequence and the free spins round triggers. It starts with seven free spins, and the multiplier reel is switched on for the whole round rather than flashing in at random. Special reels are in play during the feature.
Scatters collected beyond the fourth on the triggering spin carry over into the round, staying collected and counting towards retriggers. Every further four scatters gathered during the round awards three more free spins, and that counter never closes.
With the multiplier reel permanently live, every spin and every nudge feeds the running total. That’s where the round’s real ceiling sits. A long nudge chain with healthy multipliers stacking along the way is the path to the game’s biggest results.
Ante Bet
Two bet modes change how the base game behaves. The default 20x multiplier is normal play. Switching to the 25x multiplier puts more scatters on the reels, raising the chance of triggering the free spins naturally, but it disables the bonus buy while it’s active.
Buy Free Spins
The free spins round can be bought instantly from the base game for 100x the current total bet. On the triggering spin, four, five or six scatters can hit at random, so a bought round can start with retriggers already part-paid.
One cap applies everywhere: if a round’s total win reaches the maximum, the round ends immediately, the win is awarded and any remaining features are forfeited.
Our Honest Verdict
Overall Rating: 7/10
Playing Sweet Powernudge is a slow swirl rather than a sugar hit. Somebody picks it because they’d rather watch a win settle and re-form than blow up and vanish – the reels sink, pay, and sink again, and there’s a real satisfaction in a chain that refuses to die.
The free spins round is the strength, and it’s not close: with the multiplier reel live for the full round and retriggers stacking every four scatters, seven spins routinely becomes far more. The weakness is everything before it. The multiplier reel switches off between random spins, so most base-game nudges pay flat, and a 100x buy is a lot to pay for a round whose trigger you can’t improve while the ante bet is running.
This one’s for players who enjoy the build and the Powernudge family’s patient rhythm, and for candy-theme collectors who don’t need Sweet Bonanza’s firework finale. Anyone chasing a fast, loud hit will find the sweet shop a quiet place.
