Tigre Sortudo Dourado

Tigre Sortudo Dourado Slot Review

A grinning golden tiger leans out of a pagoda gate with one paw raised, a string of firecrackers in tow and red paper lanterns swinging from the roof above the reels. Tigre Sortudo Dourado spends more on its artwork than most three-reel games spend on their entire feature set, and the paytable underneath is deliberately modest: a top symbol worth 20x and nothing else above 5x.

That’s an odd way to build a game, and it only works because one round carries everything. The base game is there to keep you seated until that round arrives.

Pragmatic Play have built it small and tight: a 3×3 grid, five paylines, low volatility and a 97.50% RTP that sits well above the norm. Stakes run from 0.05 to 250.00 per spin. Studio stablemates Chests of Cai Shen and 5 Lions Megaways cover similar ground, and Great Rhino has the big-cat territory on another continent.

Base Game & Features

Three reels, three rows, five paylines. Wins need three matching symbols on a line, and with a 3×3 grid that means the full width of a row, so every win is a full line by definition. It’s a simple shape, and the game doesn’t complicate it.

Betting starts at 0.05 and tops out at 250.00, a range wide enough to cover both penny-stakes play and serious sessions. The top of the range is unusually generous for a game this small.

The wild appears on all reels and substitutes for every symbol except the COIN symbol. Wilds that hit are collected by the tiger character on screen, though the collection is purely for show – it doesn’t feed a meter, build a trail, or change what anything pays. There’s no progressive counter, no threshold, no payoff waiting at the end.

Six paying symbols fill the paytable, all drawn from the Chinese luck tradition. Every value below is the pay for three of a kind, as a multiple of the line stake:

• Cat (Maneki-neko): 20x
• Frog: 5x
• Purple Coin Purse: 2x
• Red Drum: 1.6x
• Scroll: 1x
• Red Firecracker: 0.6x

The gap between the cat and everything under it is steep. A full line of frogs pays a quarter of what the cat does, and the bottom three symbols pay less than the stake back on a single line. Only the cat, frog and purse return more than the line bet, which tells you where the game’s interest actually sits.

Full Screen Multiplier

Land a full screen of the same paying symbol in the base game and all winning combinations are multiplied by a random multiplier drawn from x5, x10, x15, x25, x50 or x100. On a 3×3 grid, a full screen of one symbol covers all five paylines at once, so the multiplier lands on a stacked win.

Fill the grid with cats at x100 and the top symbol’s 20x pay becomes something considerably larger. It’s a rare event by design, and the base game’s flat paytable is what it’s compensating for.

Tigre Sortudo Dourado Respins & Bonus Features

The Respin Feature is the engine of the game, and it can be triggered randomly on any spin in the base game. Before the round starts, the game randomly picks one paying symbol and one full screen multiplier. From there the reels change character: only the chosen paying symbol, COIN symbols or blanks can land.

Every time a new paying symbol or COIN symbol lands, another respin is awarded. The round runs until a respin brings nothing new, or until the screen fills completely with the chosen symbol. If the screen does fill, all winning combinations are multiplied by the full screen multiplier reached during the round.

Those two endings matter, because only one of them pays the multiplier. A round that dies out with a half-filled screen collects its line wins and nothing more, while a filled screen applies the multiplier to every winning combination on the grid. The whole feature is a race to fill nine positions.

Coin Symbols

COIN symbols appear on all reels, but only during the Respin Feature, and they’re what keep a round alive and growing. Each one that lands randomly awards one of three effects:

• EXTRA LIFE: adds a respin to a pool. If a later respin brings no new COIN or paying symbol, one EXTRA LIFE is spent and the round continues.
• MULTIPLIER UPGRADER: upgrades the full screen multiplier one step at a time, in the order x5, x10, x15, x25, x50, x100, x1000.
• SYMBOL UPGRADED: replaces the chosen paying symbol with the next higher one in the paytable order.

That x1000 step at the top of the multiplier ladder is the whole reason to care about this feature. SYMBOL UPGRADED pushing the chosen symbol up the paytable while MULTIPLIER UPGRADER climbs the ladder means a round that starts small can end very differently.

The three effects can combine within a single round. A firecracker round upgraded partway to cats, stretched by an EXTRA LIFE and closed out at an upgraded multiplier, pays on values none of those pieces offered at the start. The order of the coin effects matters too: a SYMBOL UPGRADED landing late in a round converts every chosen symbol already on the grid to the higher value, not just the ones still to come.

Round Cap

There’s a hard ceiling on the feature. If the total win of a respins round reaches 25,000x the bet, the round ends immediately, the win is paid, and any remaining spins are forfeited.

Beyond that round cap the game commits to no overall maximum win figure, so 25,000x is the largest number it stands behind.

Our Honest Verdict

Overall Rating: 7.7/10

This is a quiet game that saves its voice for one moment. Most sessions will be the tiger grinning over modest line wins, waiting for a respin round to start. When it does, everything about the game sharpens at once, and that single round is the reason to sit down here rather than at any other three-reel slot.

The strength is the 97.50% RTP, which almost nothing else in this format comes close to. The weakness is everything between respins: a 20x top symbol and a decorative wild mean the base game rarely produces anything worth remembering.

It suits players who like low-stakes patience, from 0.05 a spin, with one well-built feature as the payoff. Chasers of big variance and constant action won’t find it here. For everyone else, the golden tiger holds the gate open.
