Triple Royal Gold Slot Review 2024
Triple Royal Gold from Thunderkick comes straight out of left field with something that we never thought we’d see from the people who brought us Riders of the Storm, Midas Golden Touch and other memorable games.
It seems that Thunderkick is taking a well deserved break from their usual style of slots and trying their hand at something classical in Triple Royal Gold, but will it still have Thunderkick’s stamp of innovation on it?
Thunderkick has traded in thier usual choice of symbols for lucky horseshoes, bells and crowns which are sprawled out over a 3×3 reel set, with an Avalanche feature and up to 27 paylines. When Thunderkick ventures out from their usual style of slots that we’ve come to love, it’s always interesting and we can’t wait to see what Thunderkick has come up with in Triple Royal Gold!
Triple Royal Gold Base Game and Features
Triple Royal Gold is a 3 reel slot with 27 fixed paylines. Winning combinations are formed when 3 of the same symbol types (or 2 of the highest paying symbol) land from left to right, starting from the left-most reel.
The minimum bet available to players is £/€0.10 per spin and the maximum bet available is £/€100 per spin, with plenty of other options in between the two. Triple Royal Gold has a theoretical RTP of 96.41% and a maximum win capacity of 5,000x.
Triple Royal Gold has an active Avalanche feature. Each time a winning combination is formed, all winning symbols will be removed from the reels and new symbols will drop down from above, filling all empty positions. The Avalanche feature will continue as long as there is winning combinations or Bonus Tokens on the reels.
In terms of symbols, the highest paying regular symbol in Triple Royal Gold is the Crown, followed by the 7, Bar, Bell and Horseshoe symbols. There is also a Wild symbol present in the form of a Diamond which substitutes for all symbols in the paytable.
Other than the Avalanche feature and the collection of Bonus Tokens, Thunderkick has kept things fairly light in terms of features which can be seen as a good or bad thing depending on the kind of player you are.
Triple Royal Gold Free Spins
During the base game, 5 coloured Bonus Tokens are present across the reels which spell out the word ‘Bonus’.
When any of these Tokens appear in a winning combination, its respective meter underneath the reel set will light up and the Token is removed from play for the duration of that particular spin. Once all 5 Token meters are lit, the Bonus round is triggered, awarding 8 Free Spins.
During the Bonus round, whenever any of the paytable symbols form a winning combination, their respective symbol meter below the reel set will light up. When all 5 symbol meters are lit, an additional +2 Free Spins will be awarded and the Multiplier below the meters will increase to the next level, up to a maximum of x27.
Triple Royal Gold Bonus Buy
For those of you who are outside the UK, you will benefit from a Bonus Buy option.
Thunderkick has granted players access to the Free Spins round for a total cost of 120x your current bet. The RTP when purchasing the Free Spins round increases slightly from 96.41% to 96.42%.
Triple Royal Gold: Our Verdict
Triple Royal Gold certainly wasn’t what we’d expect, and it’s very ‘un-thunderkick’ in a way.
When you think of Thunderkick you usually invision games like Riders of the Storm, The Beat the Beast Series, Midas Golden Touch and others. A lot of the time, they share common traits in the way that they play, so Triple Royal Gold was a bit of a shock.
Few providers do the 3 reel slot system in a way that makes them more appealing than games with more room to play with, so how does Triple Royal Gold measure up?
First of all its classic aesthetic might appeal more to old school gamblers or purists that think of vegas when they think of slots, and to some we can see why it might look a bit dated, or even boring.
Despite how it looks, Triple Royal Gold is more capable than it seems with up to 5,000x as a maximum win. This doesn’t quite beat out some of their other games, but it’s not bad for what it is.
Other than that, Triple Royal Gold is fairly simple, or humble if you prefer. It’s not a bad slot, but it’s unlikely to make the mark that other Thunderkick titles made.
