Tropiglow Power Frame

Tropiglow Power Frame Slot Review

Tropiglow Power Frame, the newest release from Just For The Win Studios, is built on the wager that you’ll stay long enough to earn it. The Power Frame, a 2×2 box that clones Wild, Jackpot or Cash symbols to fill itself, is the entire engine. Everything else on the reels exists to feed it.

The frame is there in the base game too, unlocked in stages by a meter that counts every spin. It runs on a 5×4 grid with 20 paylines, at 96.00% RTP with high volatility, and stakes run from 0.20 to 50.00 per spin.

The trade on offer is simple: five jackpot tiers, all of them winnable only inside the bonus. Whether that’s worth chasing depends entirely on how much you enjoy watching a box eat symbols.

Tropiglow Power Frame Base Game & Features

The base game pays left to right across adjacent reels, with only the highest win per line counting and simultaneous wins on different lines added together. Three symbol families sit outside the line pays entirely: Cash, Wild and Jackpot symbols, and all three are what the Power Frame feeds on.

Cash and Wild Symbols

Cash symbols carry random values and pay immediately on landing, no line required.

Wilds substitute for everything except Bonus tokens, Happy Hour, Jackpot and Cash symbols, and they can form their own winning combinations. Substitution always pays the highest possible line combination.

Jackpot Symbols and the Ladder

In the base game only, each landed Jackpot symbol randomly upgrades one of the five jackpot values. Upgrade sizes vary by tier: MINI, MINOR and MAJOR rise by 1x, MEGA by 5x and GRAND by 20x. Each tier has a floor and a ceiling:

• MINI: 5x to 15x
• MINOR: 15x to 30x
• MAJOR: 30x to 80x
• MEGA: 100x to 500x
• GRAND: 1 000x to 5 000x

A jackpot that hits its ceiling stays there until it’s won. The catch is structural: jackpots can only be awarded during Bonus Spins, so all this base game upgrading is deferred value. It builds a pot you can’t touch yet.

The Spin Progression Meter

Every base game spin fills the meter, and progression only happens in the base game. Levels unlock permanently, and each one adds a new flavour of Power Frame:

• Level 1 (start): Wild Power Frame
• Level 2 (50 spins): Jackpot Power Frame
• Level 3 (100 spins): Cash Power Frame
• Level 4 (150 spins): Dual Power Frame, combining any two features
• Level 5 (250 spins): Triple Power Frame, combining Wild, Jackpot and Cash

Once Level 5 is unlocked, only the Triple Frame appears. The frame itself is always 2×2 in the base game, and when it appears it clones whichever symbol type matches the active feature to fill the whole area.

Two wilds inside a Wild Frame merge into an x2 multiplier wild first; two jackpot symbols become a Double Jackpot worth two tokens; two cash symbols add their values together before cloning. The full toolkit takes 250 spins to arrive.

Bonus Spins in Tropiglow Power Frame

Bonus tokens exist on all reels in the base game only, and each token that lands carries a chance to trigger the round. There are three token types, one per feature: Wild, Jackpot and Cash Power Frame Bonus Spins. If two different tokens trigger the round together, both features run; all three at once and everything is active.

Every round starts with 10 spins, and a Power Frame is present on every single spin. It starts at 2×2, moves to a random position each spin, and grows by collecting Happy Hour symbols.

Happy Hour and the Growing Frame

Happy Hour symbols appear on all reels during Bonus Spins only, and each one adds +1 to the frame counter. The growth ladder is steep:

• Size 1: 2×2
• Size 2: 3×2, after 4 additional Happy Hour symbols
• Size 3: 3×3, after 6 more
• Size 4: 4×3, after 9 more
• Size 5: 4×4, after 12 more
• Size 6: 5×4, after 16 more

Reaching a new size awards +1 Spin, applied at the start of the next spin. A Happy Hour symbol landing inside the frame gets cloned to fill it, and each clone counts individually towards the counter, so a well-placed frame can jump two sizes in a single spin. That cloning interaction is the round’s best trick.

Collecting the Jackpots

Jackpot symbols are collected only during Bonus Spins, each revealing a token towards one of the five counters:

• MINI: 6 tokens
• MINOR: 8 tokens
• MAJOR: 10 tokens
• MEGA: 12 tokens
• GRAND: 15 tokens

Jackpots can be won multiple times within one round, with the token count resetting after each award. When the round ends, every awarded value resets to its minimum. The bet used is the last one placed before the trigger, so the ladder you built in the base game is the ladder you play for.

One honest detail from the rules worth knowing: the graphical collection pots are purely decorative and don’t influence the chance of triggering anything. The game says so itself.

Our Honest Verdict

Overall Rating: 7.5/10

The bargain here is that the base game is tuition. You pay 250 spins, at high volatility and a 32.16% hit rate, for the right to play the game Tropiglow Power Frame actually wants to be. If that strikes you as a fair deal, you’ll get on with it; if it doesn’t, nothing in the first hundred spins will change your mind, because the opening stretch is deliberately the weakest version of the machine.

It does the bonus far better than it does the buildup. The round itself is genuinely well made: a frame on every spin, cloning that rewards placement, jackpots that can repeat within one session. The base game, by contrast, is thin – a meter filling towards a payoff you can’t yet touch, with jackpot upgrades that are IOUs rather than wins.

So it suits grinders and progression players, and it doesn’t suit anyone chasing variety, because for long stretches it offers one idea replayed at increasing size. The honest position: this is a good bonus game wearing a mediocre base game as an entrance fee. Whether it’s worth the fee depends on how much you trust the game on the other side of it.
