Tsar Wars from Nolimit City blasts its way onto our screens – utilising a 6×6 format, Cluster Pays mechanic, and an unusual, intergalactic theme, which certainly takes inspiration from the Star Wars franchise (if you hadn’t already guessed from the title).
With a fixed RTP of 96.05%, Tsar Wars is coming in hot with a high (8/10) volatility score and a 19,775x max win potential. Without further ado, get ready to launch into many exciting features, free spins modes, and bonus buy options as we take to the stars of Nolimit City’s latest instalment.
Base Game & Features
Tsar Wars is the latest Nolimit Labs release, consisting of 6 reels, 6 rows, and a Cluster Pays mechanic. Winning combinations occur when 5-15 identical symbols land horizontally or vertically adjacent on the grid.
The 3 main characters make up the game’s high-paying symbols, each awarding payouts between 0.4x and 50x your bet. The remaining 4 low-paying symbols represent weapons and apply a fixed payout between 0.1x and 5x your bet.
Each winning cluster is removed from the grid via an Avalanche Feature. This creates room for new symbols to drop in from above the reels, potentially enhancing or creating additional wins in a single spin. Finally, each new avalanche event increases the Global Multiplier by +x1.
Big Symbols
During gameplay, high and low-paying symbols can appear in sizes 1×1, 2×2, or 3×3. If there is no room for Big symbols to fall into, the gap below it will be filled with 1×1 symbols of the same type.
Trapped Wild
The Trapped Wild modifier is revealed on a highlighted symbol meter to the right of the main grid.
When a highlighted Trapped Wild symbol is part of a win, it is removed via an xBomb Wild explosion, transforming itself into a Wild and is held for the next avalanche event. This feature can occur on all high and low-paying symbols and sizes.
Character Features
Throughout spins, each High-paying symbol can activate a unique Modifier from the following:
- Wild Rush: Random transforms between 2 & 5 paytable symbols into Wilds.
- Force Shift: Transforms up to 3 paytable symbols into another type or the same instance.
- xBomb Wild: Randomly transforms up to 3 paytable symbols into xBomb Wilds, substituting for all symbols except Scatters. All exploding xBomb Wilds increase the Global Multiplier by +x1 with the next avalanche event.
Destruction Spin
When the Destruction Meter to the left of the grid is filled with 25 winning symbols, a single Destruction Spin is awarded.
Once active, the individual Character Features are guaranteed to trigger at least once. In the base game, the Destruction Meter is reset for the next paid spin.
Nolimit Booster & Bonus Buy
Players within attainable jurisdictions can participate in 3 Bonus Buy options, in addition to 4 Nolimit Booster features – these include:

Our Honest Verdict
When it comes to the latest Nolimit release, you can never be too sure as to what you’re going to get. After carefully dissecting Tsar Wars, we found it to be moderately tame in comparison to Kenneth Must Die and Mental 2, but still more ferocious than most out there.
It’s strange how the 10,000x industry average can be exceeded by almost double, but can be considered tame if it’s a Nolimit City release. They are renowned for electrifying volatility after all, as well as unbelievable themes. Tsar Wars is more uniform in both theme and features.
Don’t get us wrong, we’re all for Nolimit City’s weird (and surprisingly wonderful) display of S&M, which oozes from the darker parts of their imagination, but it’s nice to see something a little more traditional and safe.
Tsar Wars shuttles us into the gravity-defying realm of space, engaging players in a 6×6, Cluster-paying format. The game has recognisable similarities to Play’n GO’s Moon Princess series, as well as a familiar game strategy to ELK Studios’ ZapLab, but with a definite element of spice that only Nolimit City can bring.
It excels in the Base Game with multipliers, big symbols and features like Wild Rush, Force Shift and the xBomb feature. It’s not quite as feature-rich as some cluster pays slots, but its multiplier can reach much higher values.
In free spins, it’s as action-packed as you’d expect, and Nolimit City through and through. Its 19,755x max win is inevitable, not just achievable, and its comedic Russian space theme might have knocked the more serious Star Wars off its perch, had it been released in tandem with the movie.
