Ultimate Fire Link Country Lights Slot Review
String lights over a red barn, a grain silo against an orange sky: this is a farmyard at dusk, and Ultimate Fire Link Country Lights plays the scene straight. The paytable tells you where the money isn’t, though. Five wilds pay 400x per line, while a single Fireball on the top row can carry the Mega jackpot, and that gap shapes everything about how this game plays. Light & Wonder run it on a 5×4 grid with 50 paylines at an RTP of 95.96%, and the money that matters sits above the reels, on the ladder.
It’s part of a family we know well: Ultimate Fire Link China Street, Ultimate Fire Link River Walk and Ultimate Fire Link Triple Nova Desert Nights all share the fireball-hunting heart of this game. Here the dressing is pure country fair, and the ladder’s the same long climb it has always been.
The 5×4 Base Game
Play runs across five reels and four rows on 50 fixed paylines. Wins pay left to right on adjacent reels, only the highest combination counts per line, and wins across different lines add together. Line pays are scaled by the total bet divided by 20, so the bet-per-line mathematics stay consistent however many lines are active.
The Lantern is the wild, standing in for everything except the FREE SPINS and FIREBALL symbols. It’s also the richest symbol on the reels in its own right, out-paying even the guitar. The rest of the paytable keeps to the hoedown: instruments up top, card royals below.
- Lantern (wild): 3 pays 20, 4 pays 100, 5 pays 400
- Guitar: 3 pays 8, 4 pays 20, 5 pays 60
- Harmonica: 3 pays 6, 4 pays 12, 5 pays 50
- Tambourine: 3 pays 6, 4 pays 8, 5 pays 40
- A, K, Q: 3 pays 4, 4 pays 6, 5 pays 20
- J, 10, 9: 3 pays 2, 4 pays 4, 5 pays 10
All values are multiples of the bet per line. Scatter wins from the special symbols are added on top of payline wins, so a triggering spin can pay twice over: once for the line wins, once for the scatters.
FIREBALL symbols land in the base game too, each displaying a value from its own table: on rows one to four that’s between 1x and 100x the total bet, or the Mini, Minor or Major tier. They don’t pay where they sit, though. Four or more of them together is what lights the feature.
Turbo Mode sits at the bottom right of the reels with a simple on/off toggle. Switching it on speeds each spin up and doesn’t influence results in any way. It turns itself off when a bonus is awarded, and it can be switched back on mid-feature.
Fire Link Feature
Land four or more scattered FIREBALL symbols in the base game and the Fire Link Feature begins. Three spins are awarded, and every triggering Fireball locks in place for the duration. The feature plays out on an alternate set of reels where only Fireballs are evaluated, so nothing else can land.
Whenever a new Fireball lands on an active row, it holds and the spin counter resets to three. Eight rows are displayed at the start, with rows one to four active, and the grid grows as symbols stack up.
- Up to 7 held symbols: rows 1-4 active
- 8-11 held symbols: rows 1-5 active
- 12-15 held symbols: rows 1-6 active
- 16-19 held symbols: rows 1-7 active
- 20 or more held symbols: rows 1-8 active
Fireball Prizes and the Jackpot Ladder
Fireballs on rows one to seven carry values from 1x up to 100x the total bet, or one of three jackpot tiers: Mini, Minor or Major. Row eight, the top row, is the only place the Mega can appear, and its values run from 10x up to 100x the total bet plus the full ladder including the Mega.
The four tiers are displayed as a ladder beside the reels, running from Mini at the bottom to Mega at the top. Each Fireball that carries a tier pays that tier’s prize rather than a cash value when the feature ends.
Row numbering starts from the bottommost row, so reaching the Mega means filling the grid upward through the full expansion. At the end of the feature, the prize shown on every Fireball sitting on an active row is awarded.
Fireballs that land on rows beyond the active set are held but pay nothing. If all 40 positions are held, the feature ends immediately with no further spins.
Free Spins Bonus
Three FREE SPINS symbols scattered on reels two, three and four in the base game award the Free Spins Bonus: five free spins plus an instant 2x total bet. The bonus runs on an expanded 5×8 grid using its own set of reels, with the bet per line carried over from the triggering spin.
Play spreads across 150 paylines on that taller grid, so the bonus pays very differently from the base game it came from. The Fire Link feature doesn’t run during free spins. Instead, Fireballs that land during the bonus pay their displayed value at the end of each spin, between 1x and 100x the total bet, with no jackpots attached.
Landing three more FREE SPINS symbols on reels two, three and four retriggers the round with an additional five spins and another 2x total bet. If both features are won on the same spin, Fire Link plays out first and the free spins follow.
Our Honest Verdict
Overall Rating: 6.9/10
This is an evening-porch kind of game. The barn glows, the reels turn, and the line wins arrive at a trickle, usually in single-digit multiples per line. The Fireballs are the reason anyone stays seated, and the game never lets you forget them.
The row expansion is the best thing here, and it’s a genuinely good idea: every held Fireball pushes the active rows upward, the spin counter resets to three on each catch, and the Mega sits on row eight alone. A good round builds real pressure instead of just paying out once. The weakness is everything around it, because 400 for five wilds is as rich as the lines ever get, and the free spins round caps Fireballs at 100x with no jackpots, which makes the quieter bonus feel like a consolation prize.
This one’s for jackpot-ladder hunters on a classic 50-line frame, the same crowd that enjoyed the family’s other outings. Big line-win players will find the string lights burn prettier than they pay, but for ladder hunters the fire’s still warm out here on the farm.
