Viking Fall Slot Review 2021
We’re heading to the age of Vikings once again in Viking Fall with a provider that has pulled it off so well in the past with Vikings Unleashed Megaways.
Blueprint Gaming and Megaways Slots are somewhat synonymous with each other, but recently they’ve decided to move away from the Megaways mechanic in favour of other ideas. This time, it looks like they’ve taken a leaf out of Elk Studios book with something that will feel quite familiar to those acquainted with the gold series of games.
Will this shift work out for those that are so used to Blueprint Gaming Megaways titles? and how does it compare to others like it? Let’s find out.
Viking Fall Slot Theme
Viking Fall adopts a very cartoony aesthetic like Vikings Unleashed Megaways did, but the graphics look a lot cleaner in comparison.
It has been a little while now since we were graced with Vikings Unleashed Megaways, so it’s only natural that things have improved in this regard. Sounds in Viking Fall are great too with an almost etheral an ancient style of music. All together, the aesthetic that Blueprint has created here is great.
Viking Fall: Betting and Symbols
Betting options in Blueprint Gaming slots never seems to reach the astronomical heights of others who offer £/€100 per spin stakes, but there’s a decent enough variety.
The lowest betting option here is £/€0.20 per spin, and the highest option is £/€10 per spin. There’s a decent enough selection in between the minimum and maximum, so people should be happy for the most part.
In terms of symbols, the highest paying symbol in the game is the Viking with the red background, followed by the Vikings with the blue, purple and green background. Medium paying symbols is the Helmet, Axe, Daggers and Hammer. Low paying symbols are Viking Rune symbols.
There’s also a Wild Symbol which is represented by a Gold Coin. This substitutes for all symbols except for the Scatter Symbol.
Viking Fall: The Base Game and Features
Viking Fall is played with between 4,096 – 262,144 ways to win.
To form a win you’ll need at least 3 symbols to connect from left to right on adjacent reels, starting from the left most reel. Winning symbols are removed from play, which causes new symbols to fall into place which may create even more winning combinations.
As well as this, an extra row of symbols is added each time a winning combination occurs, which gradually increases the ways to win as long as winning combinations keep coming.
There’s also a multiplier within the Base Game. This multiplier adds +1 to the count every time a wild symbol lands, but it resets between spins in the Base Game.
Colossal Mystery
The Colossal Mystery Symbol may land into view at any time.
This symbol will reveal a random symbol for a guaranteed win. These symbols cannot reveal Scatters or Wild Symbols.
Viking Fall: Free Falls
Viking Fall Free Spins are obtained when at least 3 Scatter Symbols land anywhere in view. 6 Free Spins are awarded, with an additional 2 spins for every scatter after that up to a maximum of 12 Free Spins.
During Free Falls there is a minimum ways mechanic. Each successful fall increases the maximum ways by one level, which means that every new spin starts with at least the minimum ways active. If you’re lucky enough, then every new spin may begin at 262,144 ways once you reach the safety level.
In Free Falls there’s also an unlimited multiplier which does not reset between spins.
Viking Fall: Bonus Buy
Those outside of the UK may utilise a Bonus Buy Feature for 100x your bet.
There’s no super buy option here which we’ve seen in some Elk slots, so you’ll just have to hope for more scatters!
Viking Fall: Our Verdict
Viking Fall is a great slot from Blueprint Gaming and the potential is significant, but there’s a few letdown factors here.
For one, the RTP is pretty low at 94%, and there’s no other higher variants either which left us a little bit confused. Another thing is, Elk Studios has done it before. It’s not a crime to have made a game similar to the Gold Series, but theirs has evolved very much so over the years with X-iter features and new mechanics that keeps it fresh.
Viking Fall feels very standard in comparison. The mystery symbol is quite simple, and the multiplier sounds nice but you’ll need the wins to keep coming to see any benefit from it, which can definitely happen, to be fair.
Overall, Viking Fall can be a very good slot, but there’s not really any striking reasons as to why you should pick it over the Gold slots. Maximum win potential perhaps? Maybe, but the 50,000x win capabilities sounds to us like it ‘could technically’ happen rather than ‘it definitely can happen’.
