Wild Disco Night Slot Review
A mirrorball the size of a small planet hangs over this grid, speckled light spilling down across a packed dancefloor, silhouetted hands thrown up along the bottom edge and a tunnel of blue and pink light rings glowing behind the stage. The claim worth making about CQ9 Gaming‘s Wild Disco Night is this: the base game pays like pocket change, deliberately, because every pound worth winning here sits in a bonus round that grows more expensive to leave the longer you stay in it.
The styling is club-poster gloss, saturated magenta and neon, and the theme never lets up. Underneath, it plays out across 243 Ways on a 5×3 grid, with a wild that can take over the middle reels entirely.
Base Game & Features
The base game runs on 243 Ways, so symbols pay anywhere on adjacent reels from the left rather than on fixed lines. Wins are formed by matching symbols left to right, and only the highest combination per way counts. It’s a familiar setup that keeps the middle reels busy.
Ways win systems change what a spin feels like compared with paylines. With 243 of them, three-of-a-kind wins land regularly enough that the grid is rarely dead, but the pays per way are small by design, and the top of the paytable is where the real money sits.
The Wild substitutes for all symbols except the Scatter. Reels 2, 3 and 4 each have a chance to transform into Wild, and a Wild Wild symbol counts as two wilds on a played line, which is where the bigger base-game wins come from.
Because only the middle three reels can go wild, those reels carry the base game. A full Wild Wild cover across all three is rare but transformative, turning even the low-paying BAR symbols into something worth watching. The paytable itself is classic club fruit:
- Red 7 – 3 pays 1x, 4 pays 2x, 5 pays 5x
- Blue 7 – 3 pays 0.7x, 4 pays 2x, 5 pays 4x
- Cherry – 3 pays 0.6x, 4 pays 1.5x, 5 pays 2.5x
- Bell – 3 pays 0.4x, 4 pays 0.8x, 5 pays 1.5x
- Purple Star – 3 pays 0.3x, 4 pays 0.5x, 5 pays 1.2x
- BAR BAR BAR – 3 pays 0.24x, 4 pays 0.5x, 5 pays 1.2x
- BAR BAR / BAR – 3 pays 0.16x, 4 pays 0.3x, 5 pays 1x
There’s a real drop after the two 7s, and the BAR family keeps the floor steady rather than the ceiling high. In practice that makes the wilds more important than the paytable suggests, because stacked Wild Wilds on the middle reels are what turn a modest grid into a meaningful one.
The presentation carries the base game a long way. Chunky PA speakers with pink-lit rims flank the stage, steel truss rigging and bokeh light blobs fill the upper backdrop, and every win lands against the same saturated neon the title bar sits in. The theme never pauses for breath.
Wild Disco Night Free Spins & Bonus Multiplier
The free game is where this slot stops being decoration. The trigger is the Diamond Scatter: land a scatter on all reels and the free spins begin, with every win during the round multiplied by the Bonus Multiplier.
A round plays out in a fixed order. The triggering spin sets your scatter count, which fixes the multiplier’s starting point and its step. You then get your free spins, and from the first one every win lands already multiplied, with the multiplier ticking up once per spin for the rest of the round. Nothing resets it.
How many scatters you land decides where the multiplier starts and how fast it climbs:
- 5 Scatters – multiplier starts at 1x, increases by 1 each spin, caps at 50x
- 6 Scatters – multiplier starts at 2x, increases by 2 each spin, caps at 100x
- 7 Scatters – multiplier starts at 3x, increases by 3 each spin, caps at 150x
All three tiers carry the same 50-spin ceiling, and that ceiling is the interesting part. A round that runs long doesn’t just pay more often, it pays more per win, because the multiplier never resets inside a round. The maths rewards endurance over luck.
The gap between tiers is bigger than it first looks. A 7-scatter round doesn’t just start three times higher than a 5-scatter one; it climbs three times faster too, so the two rounds pull apart with every spin and never close again. Six scatters sits neatly between them, doubling on both counts.
Retriggers
Scatters on all reels during the free game award another 12 free spins, and the round can retrigger multiple times. The multiplier settings carry over unchanged from the triggering spin, and your stake stays the same throughout. The 50-spin cap applies to the total, so retriggers extend the run only up to that limit.
The retrigger is what gives the ladder room to reach its cap. A 12-spin round from the base trigger climbs for a dozen steps and stops; a round that retriggers twice keeps stepping to the limit, and every step makes the remaining spins worth more than the ones before them.
There’s a 7,000x maximum win figure for this one, and a 97.07% RTP rating, but no volatility rating either, so the multiplier caps are the closest thing to a ceiling the game offers. The 150x top cap on a 7-scatter trigger is the number that matters.
Our Honest Verdict
Overall Rating: 7.1/10
You spend most of a session on a dancefloor that pays in small change, waiting for the one song that pays properly. That’s the whole appeal. Wild Disco Night asks you to sit through a base game that looks better than it pays, on the promise of a free-spins round where every spin costs the game more than the last.
The strength is that bonus ladder. Because the multiplier never resets inside a round, a retriggered bonus isn’t just longer, it’s worth more with every step, and a 7-scatter trigger can climb all the way to 150x. The weakness is everything either side of it: the paytable drops off a cliff after the 7s, and base wins without stacked wilds barely register.
It suits players who enjoy the wait and like their bonus rounds to build, and it isn’t for anyone who wants the base game to pull its own weight. Stay past the first chorus and the lights really do pay off.
