Wild Link Riches Slot Review
Wild Link Riches buries its reels in a giant green cauldron, a rainbow arcing out of the sky behind it and clover-stamped coins spilling over the rim. It’s a familiar Irish meadow, glossy and brightly lit, but the game underneath it is less cosy than it looks. SpinPlay Games has built this one around a single reel that decides whether anything on screen gets paid.
It’s a tense loop, and the studio commits to it fully, letting one symbol stretch the grid and sweep every coin on screen into the pot. Amazing Link Riches ran a similar idea decently enough; this one sharpens it. The stats hold up too: 96.43% RTP, high volatility, 20 to 50 paylines and a MEGA jackpot worth 5,000x the bet.
Base Game & Features
Wins pay left to right from the first reel along 20 to 50 paylines, and only the highest combination on each line counts. If several winning combinations land on a single payline, just the best one is paid. Stakes run from 0.20 to 50 per spin. The hit rate is 27.34%, so roughly one spin in four connects.
The bet structure explains the paytable’s arithmetic. Each spin costs a total bet built from an initial bet multiplied by the payline cost, which is 20. Payline wins are calculated against that initial bet rather than the full stake. The paytable therefore reads lower than what you’re actually wagering per spin.
Two wilds do the substituting. Rainbow Wilds sit on reels 2 to 5, while the Wild Pot of Gold lives on reel 1 and stands at the centre of everything else the base game does. Neither substitutes for Bonus or Prize symbols, which keeps the collect side of the game cleanly separate from the payline side.
Wild Link Feature
When a Wild Pot of Gold lands on reel 1, it nudges to fill the entire reel. That’s the whole trigger, and it’s a good one: everything on screen with a value attached suddenly matters. The extra rows are what make it:
- Base game: up to three extra rows above reels 2 to 5
- Free spins: up to six extra rows above reels 2 to 5
Every Prize symbol on screen then pays the value it displays. Frenzy Coin Prize symbols go further and award multiple random values when the feature hits.
It’s a simple loop, and the growing rows give it a scale the base grid never quite manages on its own. With every row added, more positions open up for Prize symbols to occupy.
Prize Symbols & the Jackpot Ladder
Prize symbols land on reels 2 to 5 carrying a random value based on the current total bet, and they only pay out when the Wild Link Feature triggers. A spin can therefore end with a screen full of coins worth nothing, because the values stay locked until that reel 1 wild arrives.
The top of the ladder is where the fixed jackpots live, each a flat multiple of the stake:
- MEGA: 5,000x the bet
- MAJOR: 500x the bet
- MINOR: 50x the bet
- MINI: 20x the bet
Every rung of the ladder is claimed through the same Prize-symbol collection. That keeps the whole payout system running on a single mechanism, with the MEGA sitting at the top of it.
Pick Feature
At the end of each base game spin or Wild Link Feature, the Prize symbols collected into the pot can randomly trigger a Pick Feature. Match three icons to win the respective prize. It never fires from inside free spins.
It’s a small bonus, but it gives the collection pot a second job. Even spins that don’t deliver a Wild Link can end with something, which softens the gaps without changing the maths.
Wild Link Riches Free Spins & Bonuses
Three Horseshoe Bonus symbols anywhere on reels 1, 3 and 5 award 10 free spins at the triggering bet. The horseshoes carry no payout of their own and only appear in the base game, so the round has to be earned before it can be grown.
Inside the round, every Wild Link Feature that occurs collects a Wild Pot of Gold. Every fourth pot collected awards 10 additional free spins and raises the pay multiplier for the remaining spins. Up to 12 pots can be collected across the feature, which is where the ceiling on the ladder sits.
The multiplier climbs in fixed steps:
- 4th pot collected: 10 extra spins, multiplier rises to 2
- 8th pot collected: 10 extra spins, multiplier rises to 3
- 12th pot collected: 10 extra spins, multiplier rises to 10
The multiplier applies to line wins, Prize symbols and every jackpot except the MEGA. That exclusion matters: the biggest prize on the board stays flat while everything around it scales, so the ladder’s middle rungs are where a long round does its best work.
Buy Feature
The Buy Feature costs 110x the total bet and instantly triggers Epic Free Spins at the current stake. The Epic version starts with between two and five Wild Pots of Gold already collected; if four or five are awarded, 10 extra spins are added immediately and the round begins with a multiplier of 2.
There’s a second, cheaper route. When free spins trigger naturally, the round can be upgraded to Epic Free Spins for 50x the total bet instead of playing it as dealt. Both purchases run at 96.43% RTP, the same as the standard game.
The buy may not be available above a certain bet threshold, and in some markets it isn’t available at all:
- Buy Feature: 110x total bet, instant Epic Free Spins
- Epic upgrade from a natural trigger: 50x total bet
Our Honest Verdict
Overall Rating: 7.7/10
Most of your time here is spent watching coins stack up on a screen that refuses to pay them. That’s the whole appeal, really: every spin carries a small bet that one symbol on reel 1 will cash the lot, and when it lands, the sweep is genuinely satisfying. The leprechaun meadow is just the wrapping on a game that runs on anticipation.
Its best trick is the free spins ladder, because the multipliers climb in steps of 2, 3 and 10, and a round that survives to the top pays like it earned it. Its worst is that the MEGA jackpot sits outside all of that: the biggest prize never scales, so the game’s ceiling and its best engine point in different directions.
This is one for players who enjoy a slow build and a single escalating mechanic, not anyone after a scatter of features or a jackpot that grows with the round. The pot of gold at the end of this rainbow is real; it’s the climbing that pays.
