The paytable represents 3 characters, 3 zombies, backpacks, medical kits, lunch, and key cards. Payouts for the aformentioned symbols vary between 0.1x and 5x your bet. In addition, Wilds appear on reels 2-6 and subsitute for all symbols except Scatters.
Reels 1-6 can reveal between 2 & 7 symbols per reel, leading to a maximum of 117,649 ways to win in a single spin. Lastly, winning combinations are taken from the reels and replaced with new symbols, via an Avalanche Feature.
During each avalanche event, the number of reel positions can increase to a random number, up to 7, so long as they had a winning symbol upon them. This feature is persistent in Pompeii Megareels prior to this release.

Our Honest Verdict
Zombie School Megaways is ‘all bark and no bite’ once you begin peeling back its flesh-eating exterior and terrifying sound effects. The game is nothing short of a bog-standard Megaways slot, without the use of Mystery symbols or the additional Sliding Reel.
What we can say with complete confidence is that Pragmatic Play has done a terrific job with the design, animations, and graphics. We’ll admit, the zombie storyline is a far cry from Print Studios’ Darkness or Dreadworks, but it has a certain appeal to it.
When the Avalanche Feature kicks in, it not only clears the grid of winning symbols, but it also allows certain reels to increase the number of positions available, quite like Pompeii Megareels before this.
Instead of waiting for the next spin of Megaways to reveal itself, you can enhance the number of active positions within a single spin. It’s a great upgrade to the Avalanche Feature, which makes the 117,649 ways to win all the more achievable.
During Free Spins, each winning sequence is given a Multiplier equal to the number of winning symbols; however, the awarded Multipliers are a one-time deal per spin. Fortunately for non-UK players, obtaining the Super Free Spins mode will guarantee a persistent Global Multiplier from all winning sequences, but it comes with a 500x bet price tag.
It’s quite an expensive purchase but is it worth it? That’s a question that only you, as the player, can answer. What we have noticed, however, is that the values of paytable symbols is a lot less than we’d hoped, so even when you’re sat on an impressive Global Multiplier, it can still feel underwhelming.
The best you can hope for is to land a large number of winning symbols (of the high-paying variety), to reveal a sizable win that is then multiplied by an advanced Global Multiplier for a big payout or two.
All in all, Zombie School Megaways makes a lasting impression on zombie slayers and Pragmatic Play fans, but it fails to deliver enhanced features that tip the scales in its favour.
