The Magic Orb has a variety of betting options for players to choose from. For those who prefer a lower stake, the minimum bet available here is £/€0.20 (£/€0.25 with Super Bet active) per spin. The highest paying regular symbol in The Magic Orb is the Purple Gem with the Gold background, followed by the Red, Blue and Green Gems which also have Gold backgrounds. Lower paying symbols fall to a selection of smaller Gems. The Purple Gem has the highest pay value, followed by Orange, Blue and Green Gems.

Wild symbols substitute for all symbols except for Scatters and Hold & Win Symbols.

The Magic Orb Base Game and Features

The Magic Orb is a 7×7 video slot with a Cluster Pays mechanic. In order to form a win you will need to connect 5 or more of the same symbols either Horizontally or Vertically.

The Magic Orb features Cascading Reels. Once a winning combination is formed, all winning symbols will be removed from the grid and new symbols will fall down via a Cascade, filling all the empty positions on the grid, possibly creating even more winning combinations.

The Magic Orb has not one but two exciting features available in the base game. The Magic Orb and Hold & Win features offer plenty of entertainment whilst you patiently wait for Free Spins to land. There is also a Super Bet feature that can be activated at any point in the base game.

Super Bet

Before you start spinning, you will have the opportunity to actiave the Super Bet.

The Super Bet will increase your current bet by 25%.

The Magic Orb

In the middle of the grid is a perfectly positioned Magic Orb. During any random spin in the base game, the Magic Orb feature can be triggered.

Once this happens, 1 of 6 thrilling modifiers can be awarded, these are as follows.

• Transform – Once awarded, the Orb will reveal an icon to symbolize Transform. One of the current symbols will be chosen at random and then transformed into another to help create wins.
• Wild  – The Orb will reveal an icon to symbolize Wild. Wild symbols are then added to the grid to creat wins.
• Multiplier – Once awarded, the Orb will reveal an icon to symbolize the Multiplier. A random Multiplier of either x2, x3, x5 or x10 will be awarded.
• Destruction – The Orb will reveal an icon to symbolize the Destruction modifier. Destruction will destroy all paid symbols except one.
• Free Drops – The Orb may reveal a Free Drops Scatter symbol. This will automatically award the Free Drops round.
• Hold & Win – The Orb may reveal a Hold & Win symbol. If this happens, you will automatically be awarded the Hold & Win feature.

Pay special attention the the Orb during the base game, it has the ability to animate but fail to deliver one of the Modifiers.

Hold & Win Feature

The Hold & Win feature can be awarded in 2 ways, by either landing 5 or more Hold & Win symbols or from the Magic Orb feature.

Once active, you will be awarded 3 Respins.

Each time a Gold Coin symbol lands, it will become Sticky and will remain in its fixed position for the remainder of Respins. Once an additonal Gold Coin symbol lands, the Respins counter will be reset back to 3.

In additon to this, there are 4 Jackpot Prizes up for grabs in this round.

• Mini – Awards 25x your current bet.
• Major – Awards 50x your current bet.

The Magic Orb Free Drops

The Free Drops round can be triggered on any spin by landing 3 Scatters, or by recieving the Free Drops symbol during the Magic Orb feature.

The Magic Orb: Our Verdict

It seems that iSoftBet has a bit of an obsession with the Hold & Win mechanic, so much so that almost every new release so far has the words ‘Hold & Win’ in its title. The Magic Orb has taken us by suprise and is definitely the most interesting out of the lot. Usually when a slot features the Hold & Win mechanic thats the best you can expect in terms of Free Spins, but iSoftBet has thrown in a Free Drops round to make The Magic Orb a lot more appealing.

In terms of statistics, the RTP for The Magic Orb is a little on the lower side at 95.94%, but if you have access to the Super Bet, this then increases slightly to 96.04% but it comes at a cost. The slightly lower RTP may be down to the Medium to High volatility. The maximum win capacity sits at an impressive 15,000x which we believe The Magic Orb is capable of delivering.
