10 Swords Slot Review 2024
Journey back to the Colosseum and prepare for an epic battle in Push Gaming’s latest release, 10 Swords!
10 Swords doesn’t look like your typical Push Gaming Slot; the Sword Symbol feature with equivalent payout values looks more like something from the Games Global catalogue, but is 10 Swords all it seems?
Knowing Push Gaming, there are bound to be a few mechanics that make it stand out. Will there be jumping jars and man-eating sharks? or perhaps fat vampires, dinosaurs and a generous bloke named Jack? Unlikely, but 10 Swords may well become a Push Gaming classic anyway.
10 Swords Base Game and Features
10 Swords is a 5-reel slot with 20 fixed pay lines. Winning combinations are formed when 3 or more of the same symbols land from left to right, starting from the leftmost reel.
The minimum bet available here is £.€0.10 per spin and the maximum bet available is £.€100 per spin, with plenty of other options in between the two. This game has a theoretical RTP of 96.41% and a max win cap of 5,000x.
In terms of symbols, the highest-paying regular symbol here is the Character with the Gold Frame, followed by the Characters with the Blue and Green Backgrounds, Helmet, Drinks Bottle, and Horn. Low-paying symbols are standard Ace, King, Queen, and Jack. Wilds substitute for all other symbols except Scatters and Sword symbols.
Ante Bet
Before you can begin spinning, you will be given the option to activate the Ante Bet feature.
Activating this feature will increase your current bet by 20%. Once active, Scatters will appear more often, meaning your chances of triggering the Free Spins round is naturally higher.
Sword Symbols
During both the base game and Free Spins round, special Sword symbols can randomly appear in view. Landing 4 or more Sword symbols in any one spin across the reels will award an Instant Prize Win.
The total amount won is relative to the number of Sword symbols that have landed in view across the reels.
- 10 Swords – Awards 5,000x your bet.
- 9 Swords – Awards 1,000x your bet.
- 8 Swords – Awards 100x your bet.
- 7 Swords – Awards 25x your bet.
- 6 Swords – Awards 10x your bet.
- 5 Swords – Awards 5x your bet.
- 4 Swords – Awards 2x your bet.
10 Swords Free Spins
Landing 3, 4, or 5 Shield Scatters across the reels automatically triggers the Free Spins round.
- 3 Shield Scatters – Awards 8 Free Spins.
- 4 Shield Scatters – Awards 10 Free Spins with 2 Low-paying symbols converted into Sword symbols.
- 5 Shield Scatters – Awards 12 Free Spins with 4 Low-paying symbols converted into Sword symbols.
During Free Spins, any Shield symbols that land in view will be collected and stored in the Low Symbol Meter adjacent to the reel set. Once 4 Shield symbols have been collected toward a Low-paying symbol, the corresponding symbol will then be converted into Sword symbols.
Once all Low-paying symbols have been converted into Swords, Shield symbols will be removed from the reel set. Each Low-paying conversion will award the following Free Spins.
- 1st Conversion – Awards an additional +4 Free Spins.
- 2nd and 3rd Conversions – Awards an additional +3 Free Spins.
- 4th Conversion – Awards an additional +2 Free Spins.
10 Swords Bonus Buy
Those outside the UK will benefit from a Bonus Buy option. Push Gaming has granted players access to the Free Spins round with a random number of Free Spins for a total cost of 50x your current bet. (RTP 96.75%)
10 Swords: Our Verdict
10 Swords didn’t quite stand out as a Push Gaming great, of which there are many. Perhaps it says more about the quality of their other titles than anything else, and to be fair, if you look close enough you can see the Push Gaming within 10 Swords.
Free Spins are where it really becomes apparent. Scatter symbols collect to upgrade symbols which bares a vague resemblance to how symbols are collected in games like Big Bamboo and Dino P.D to get the momentum going, yet the end product is completely different.
10 Swords relies on changing symbols into swords to increase their concentration on the reels for bigger wins. It’s a bonus round where almost every other symbol except swords and scatters are redundant, and if you don’t collect enough of them then 10 swords can feel duller than it is sharp.
Still, it grew on us when we tested it ourselves, and repeated test bonus buys bore impressive results more than once. The maximum win of 5,000x is dwarfed by others in the Push portfolio, but it’s enough to celebrate.
Overall, 10 Swords doesn’t leave an impression on you instantly like others have, but given a chance it can prove itself.
