Big Game Fishing TopHit is a highly volatile 5-reel, 3-row Video Slot featuring a special TopHit reel above the main grid. The RTP for this game is 94% and the max win is capped at 5,000x your bet.
Looking into the paytable, you’ll find that wins pay from left to right, starting from the leftmost reel. The available symbols are Low-paying A, K, Q, J, and 10, awarding wins worth 0.2x-1.2x your bet while High-paying fishing icons payout between 0.4x and 5x your bet. Wilds substitute for all symbols except Scatter and Fisherman symbols.
TopHit Reel
The TopHit reel spins in sync with the main reel set, but instead of awarding direct wins, it produces additional Wilds. For example, whenever a high-paying symbol lands on the TopHit reel, it transforms into Wilds on the main reel set.
If more than one of the same high-paying symbols appears on the TopHit reel, the Wilds will be assigned a Multiplier between x2 and x5. In addition, Scatters may also appear on this reel.
Cash Fish
Throughout gameplay, whenever a Fish Symbol lands on the reels, it will be assigned a random Cash Value. If a Fisherman symbol lands on the TopHit reel, it will collect and award the cash value of all fish symbols on the reels.
Nudge Feature
While playing Big Game Fishing TopHit, a Nudge symbol may appear on reel 5. When this happens, it will nudge all partially visible symbols on the TopHit reel to make them fully visible.
Golden Bet
For a cost of 1.5x your bet, you can activate the Golden Bet feature, which nudges all partial Fisherman and Scatter symbols into full view on each spin.
Bonus Buy
For a cost of 70x your bet, you’ll immediately enter the Free Spins round, where you’ll be awarded a random number of free spins, with a minimum of 8 guaranteed.
Free Spins
Triggering Free Spins requires the collection of 3 or more Scatter symbols, awarding 8 Free Spins.
During the bonus round, all features landed on the TopHit reel will persist for the duration. Anytime a bonus symbol lands on the reels, or whenever 6 or more copies of the same high-paying symbol land on the TopHit reel, you’ll be awarded +1 additional Free Spin.
While the bonus round is active, every Fisherman symbol that lands on the TopHit reel will collect the cash values of all fish symbols in view. Plus, each time a fisherman lands, the Cash Fish Multiplier is increased by +x1. This multiplier begins at x1 but can reach as high as x28.

Our Verdict
To be completely honest, there’s a surplus of average fishing slots at most online casinos these days. In fact, it seems like every game provider has at least one fishing game in their portfolio, but most games are quite forgettable. However, having seen everything that Big Game Fishing TopHit has to offer, we can breathe a sigh of relief because it’s actually a really entertaining game that is quite different from all the other fishing-themed slots on the market.
Obviously, the use of Yggdrasil Gaming’s TopHit mechanic is central to this, but it’s actually a well-rounded game in all areas. And for a high volatility slot, the game’s 94% RTP and 5,000x maximum payout multiplier are certainly fair enough to appeal to a wide range of players.
Reflex Gaming appears to have landed a winner with its latest creation titled Big Game Fishing TopHit, but it will ultimately be up to the players to decide the fate of this game upon its official release at UK Casino Sites on the 5th November 2024.
