Candy Corner Slot Review
Bursts of flavour and tantalising tastes await in Pragmatic Play’s latest release, Candy Corner!
Welcome to Candy Corner, Pragmatic Play’s latest confectionary-filled release, crammed with juicy fruits and exotic flavours that will have your tastebuds in a tizzy.
As a child, sweets were a reward for good behaviour or a one-off treat on the weekends. In adulthood, sweets are a popular choice of theme within the iGaming industry, where you can indulge in as many as you want without needing a trip to the dentist.
It seems that it’s not just us with a sweet tooth. Pragmatic Play has been here many times in titles like Sugar Rush 1000, Sweet Bonanza, and Sweet Kingdom, just to name a few.
With this in mind, where will Pragmatic Play’s craving for sweets take us this time? Let’s play on and find out!
Base Game & Features
Candy Corner is a 6×6 Grid Slot with the four corners singled out for Modifiers. This highly volatile slot from Pragmatic Play offers a number of betting options between £.€0.20 per spin and £.€240 per spin.
Other statistics include a theoretical RTP of 96.50% and a max win cap of 10,000x your bet. Pragmatic Play has also included lower RTP versions; 95.50% and 94.50%. Autoplay and Turbo Mode are also available to players outside the UK.
The Cluster Pays mechanic means wins are formed when 6 or more matching symbols land Horizontally or Vertically adjacent. Candy Corner features 8 Fruit and Jelly symbols, with the highest-paying producing wins between 1x and 200x your bet. Wilds substitute for all symbols except Scatters.
Each winning cluster is subject to removal via an Avalanche Feature. After winning symbols are removed, a selection of paytable symbols is dropped from above to fill the gaps. This feature continues until no more winning clusters appear in view.
Modifier Corners
The 4 Corners of the grid are reserved for special Modifiers that can appear during any spin. In the base game, only 1 Modifier of the same type can hit within the same spin. The Modifiers available are as follows:
- Direct Money: Reveals a random Cash Value between 2x and 50x your bet. The amount shown on this symbol is automatically awarded.
- Win Multiplier: Reveals a Multiplier between x2 and x100 which is applied to all cluster wins for that spin.
- Wild Add: Awards 2-8 Wild symbols onto random grid positions.
- Big Wild: Adds a 2×2, 3×3, 4×4, or 5×5 Expanded Wild onto a random grid position.
Bonus Buy
- Free Spins: Awards 3, 4, 5, 6, or 7 Scatters (100x your bet)
- Golden Free Spins: Guarantees a random Modifier at the start of each spin (250x your bet)
Free Spins
Landing 3, 4, 5, 6, or 7 Scatters in the base game triggers Free Spins, awarding 6, 8, 10, 12, and 14 Free Spins respectively. Please note, that the Free Spins mode can be triggered as Normal or Golden at random.
During Free Spins, up to 4 Modifiers of the same type can appear on the same spin, except Big Wild where only 2 can hit. In addition, a new Modifier comes into play at this time.
- Extra Free Spins: When in view, it reveals 2, 3, 4, or 5 additional Free Spins. These are added to your total number of Free Spins remaining.
In Free Spins, at least 2 Modifiers of any type are guaranteed to land in random corners during each spin.
Golden Free Spins
In Golden Free Spins, a random Modifier is selected at the start of the round, guaranteed to hit with each spin in 1 of 4 corners. If the Extra Spins Modifier is selected, +10 Free Spins are added to the total count, leaving only 2 Modifiers guaranteed to hit for future spins.

Our Verdict
Most have spawned a sweet release or two, and Pragmatic Play seemingly has the biggest sweet tooth of them all. It’s as vibrant as you’d expect and once again depicted in a world where the very walls of your house and the land it’s built on are edible – not much here for fans of more savoury snacks.
While visually and audibly appealing with great graphics and sounds, Candy Corner fails to properly stand out due to many just like it. It’s not without charm, potential or appeal, but we wouldn’t consider it to be better than Sugar Rush. Candy Corner as the name suggests focuses primarily on the feature symbols that can land within the 4 corners, and it can certainly pack a punch should the Golden Version trigger. The regular round feels quite capable too, but otherwise, the features on their own feel a little underwhelming at times.
Candy Corner is sweet and delicious, but not moreish. It can almost feel a little sickly. It’s great for 100 or perhaps even 200 spins, but then your appetite for sweetness diminishes. We dare say it would have been more appealing without the overdone sweet theme, and its features while entertaining aren’t convincing of a game that is supposedly capable of 10,000x the bet. Candy Corner is a good game, but it fails to establish itself as a great one, unlike some of Pragmatic’s over candy catalogue.
