Base Game & Features
Wild Clusters is a highly volatile 7-reel, 7-row Video Slot that utilises the Cluster Pays mechanic, offering a variation of bet sizes between £.€0.20 and £.€10 per spin. Other attributes include an overall RTP of 96.71% and an average max win cap of 5,000x your bet.
Wins are calculated when 5-15+ matching symbols land either horizontally or vertically adjacent on the grid, awarding payouts between 0.1x and 750x your bet. Wild symbols appear anywhere on the grid, substituting for all paytable symbols.
Winning clusters are subject to removal via a Cascading Reels function. Each cluster win is removed and replaced with new symbols from above, continuing until no more wins occur. This allows players to create or enhance additional wins in a single spin.
Highlighted Special Symbols
At the start of each spin, all instances of 1 Low-paying symbol are highlighted. If any highlighted symbols are part of a winning cluster, +2 Wild symbols are generated in random positions within the winning cluster.
Galaxy Features
To the right of the grid are 5 Progress Meters which fill when winning symbols are collected. For every 25 symbols collected, a random Galaxy Feature triggers:
- Gravity Wilds: Awards 3-6 Wilds to the grid, destroying adjacent symbols.
- Starlight Upgrade: Enhances a random Low-paying symbol to a High-paying symbol type.
- Cosmic Sweep: Removes all Low-paying symbols from the grid.
- Galaxy Cross: Positions a Wild symbol in the centre with diagonal lines of matching symbols.
Lucky Wilds
During any non-winning spin, there is a chance to trigger the Lucky Wild feature. Once active, between 4 and 8 Wild symbols are added to random grid positions.
Mega Symbols
When 4 matching symbols create a rectangle, they combine into a Mega symbol with an active x2 Multiplier. When multiple Mega symbols connect to the same win, the total Multiplier increases by +x1 per Mega symbol.
Wild Blast
When 125 winning symbols are collected into the progress meters, the Wild Blast feature triggers. The wild blast feature creates a 3×3 Wild with an active Multiplier of x1, x2, x3, x4, x5, or x100. The multiplier applies to all cluster wins it connects to.
Bonus Buy
- Wild Boost x3: Spin with 3 Wilds in a horizontal line in the centre of the grid (6x your bet)
- Wild Boost x5: Spin with 5 Wilds in a cross formation in the centre of the grid (24x your bet)
- Wild Blast: Guarantees 4 random Galaxy features followed by a Wild Blast (200x your bet)
- Drop Dead Spin: 1 spin with high-paying symbols. No win triggers the Wild Blast feature (92x your bet)
Drop Dead Spin
The Drop Dead Spin feature is a single-spin mode with only High-paying symbols in play. The Wild Blast feature may also activate on a non-winning dead spin when no winning clusters are formed. Please note, that Galaxy Features, lucky wilds, mega symbols, and highlighted low-paying symbols are not available during this feature.
Our Verdict
Wild Clusters offers a simple yet colourful galaxy-themed design with crisp graphics and a basic layout. BGaming has given nothing away in the design, leaving players wondering what magical features they’re hiding beneath its plain exterior.
The Cluster Pays mechanic is evident through the 7×7 grid format, as well as individual progress meters to the right of the grid. These meters may not look like much now, but they lead to impressive and highly-anticipating functions when they are filled with many symbol wins, similar to the progress meters found in Reactoonz.
Individual Low-paying symbols are highlighted with each new spin, which allows Wild symbols to be generated when they form part of a winning cluster. Lucky Wilds and Mega Symbols also enhance the game’s overall performance when they appear in view, initiating a Multiplier of x2 that applies to the win value.
The Wild Blast feature is the more prominent of the group, initiating a random Multiplier between x1 and x100. This feature is a little more difficult to achieve than all others as it requires 125 winning symbols in a single spin, but there’s more potential to be had through this function.
The Drop Dead Spin is the alternative option for free spins in Wild Clusters. When this feature activates, it will eliminate all Low-paying symbols, leaving only high-paying symbols in play. This round is an ‘all or nothing’ phase, where you’ll either win something significant or nothing at all. If you’re lucky, you can trigger the Wild Blast feature which generates a Wild Multiplier onto the reels, but this is not guaranteed.
