Base Game & Features
Vegas is Dead: Battle Arena is a low volatility release from Octoplay, featuring 4 reels, 3 rows, and 5 fixed pay lines. Wins are calculated when 3-4 matching symbols land from left to right, starting from reel 1 on defined lines.
Of the 8 high and low-paying symbols, the skull, 7, hat, and gun icons make up the game’s highest-paying, whilst the remaining low-paying symbols represent spades, clubs, diamonds, and hearts. Each win awards a fixed payout between 1x and 25x your bet.
In addition, up to 6 Wild symbols, each with a unique character design, can appear in full on the reels, awarding a fixed payout of 50x your bet for 4-of-a-kind.

Big Wilds
During gameplay, special Ally & Enemy Characters, acting as Wilds, can appear on the reels, while Ally and Enemy 3 symbols cover 2 reels.
The ally characters can land on the first and second reels, while enemy characters appear on the remaining third and fourth reels. The size of the Big Wild remains the same during the base game and Showdown Spins.

Cash Chips
Big Wild symbols reveal Cash Chips with unique prizes between 1x and 15x your bet.
Cash Chips will only count towards your total win at the end of Showdown Spins. If the values of certain Cash Chips are too big to display, they are revealed as bet multipliers instead.
- Red Chips: 1x, 2x, or 3x your bet
- Blue Chips: 5x, 7x, or 9x your bet
- Green Chips: 10x, 12x, or 15x your bet
In the base game, Cash Chips are thrown into the pile above the main reel set, increasing your chances of triggering the Showdown Spins feature. The accumulation of Cash Chips is purely for visual representation and entertainment purposes, which does not influence the activation of this feature.
Double Bet & Bonus Buy
Players outside the UK jurisdiction can purchase the Showdown Spins mode for an additional 60x their current bet. The theoretical RTP when purchasing this option is 95.84%.
Alternatively, UK players and other countries can participate in a special Double Bet feature for a 40% increase per current bet. With this feature active, your chances of triggering Showdown Spins are doubled (RTP 95.77%)
Vegas is Dead: Battle Arena offers a fixed max win cap of 1,522x your bet. If a game round exceeds this, the current mode ends abruptly, and the player returns to the base game carrying this figure.

Vegas is Dead: Battle Arena Free Spins
In Showdown Spins, the round begins with 500 Health Points. If the round is triggered via Big Wild symbols, the characters from the opposing faction are added to match them.
In this round, only allied characters, enemies, and empty tiles can appear. Each character symbol that hits will lock into position. When allied and enemy characters are locked, they battle against each other.
Allied characters take turns attacking respective enemy characters, starting with the closest. When the pair battle, each character loses Attack Power. Once a character reaches 0 attack power, they are eliminated.
Enemy characters carry Cash Chips and Jackpot Skulls, which are collected upon defeat. Alternatively, ally characters carry Cash Coins, which are also collected. When only allied characters are held on the reels, their Attack Power increases by +5.
If all allied characters are destroyed, leaving only enemy characters in play, they will attack the Health Bar instead, deducting Health Points. This feature ends when the Health Bar is completely drained of Attack Power.
After this, all collected Cash Chips and Jackpot Skulls are revealed to award their prizes.

Characters
During Showdown Spins, Wild symbols land on the reels with a set amount of Attack Power.
- Allied Characters:
- Ally 1: 50 Attack Power and up to 3 Red Cash Chips
- Ally 2: 100 Attack Power and up to 3 Blue Cash Chips
- Ally 3: 200-300 Attack Power and up to 3 Green Cash Chips
- Enemy Characters:

- Mini: 25x your bet
- Minor: 50x your bet
- Major: 100x your bet
- Grand: 750x your bet
Our Honest Verdict
Seeing the popular Las Vegas strip crawling with flesh-eating zombies isn’t the theme we thought would combine, but it seems anything goes in the iGaming industry, and it’s already happened once before when Yggdrasil Gaming’s Ryan turned into a killing machine in Lucky Apocalypse.
Nevertheless, the apocalyptic scene isn’t entirely new to us, and we’ve managed to brush up on precision beheading and basic survival techniques over the years.
In Octoplay’s Vegas is Dead: Battle Arena, we’ve teamed up with a group of professional zombie-beheaders from all walks of life, one being a Leprechaun.
It’s a strange slot, we’ll say that straight away. The art looks a bit AI-generated, and the game features just 4 reels and 5 paylines, low volatility and a shockingly low max win. Vegas is Dead Battle Arena hasn’t arrived to compete with the big boys, but it’s different; we’ll give Octoplay that.
There are video game elements in it, with fighters and lives or ‘hitpoints’ that determine the winner or loser. The 4 reels work well to even the playing field between sides, with ally fighters and a zombie horde on opposing sides.
Simply get as much backup as possible, and hold them off for as long as possible. When the hit points reach zero, congratulations, you’re dead. Chips that have been earned throughout the round payout, with green chips offering the most money.
Overall, we think it’s quite a strange game, not particularly rewarding compared to others, but commendable for its differences nonetheless.
