Moon Princess Stargazing Slot Review
Moon Princess Stargazing welcomes the return of perhaps the most popular anime-inspired slot ever made, and a titan of Play’n GO’s catalogue.
When you think of extremely popular slots by Play’n GO, you may think of Rich Wilde with the ever-popular Book of Dead, or some of the spin-offs like Legacy of Dead, which did and still continues to do well today.
We think of them, too, but Moon Princess is another titan. Popular releases that came after the first include Moon Princess 100, Moon Princess Trinity and Moon Princess Power of Love, as well as a festive spin-off with Moon Princess Christmas Kingdom.
Love, Star and Storm are basically slot celebrities, but to our surprise, only Star returns for Moon Princess Stargazing. The newest in the series introduces Astra and Nova, hinting at something more celestial than before.
Moon Princess Stargazing boasts a 10,000x win cap, high volatility and an RTP of 96.20%. Statistically, it looks very good, but how is it in reality?

Base Game & Features
Moon Princess Stargazing is a highly volatile 5×5 Video Slot, trading traditional pay lines/ways to win in favour of the popular Cluster Pays mechanic.
Wins are guaranteed to occur when 3-5 matching symbols land horizontally or vertically on the grid. The 3 high-paying character symbols, Star, Nova, and Astra, award fixed payouts between 0.2x and 3x your bet. Alternatively, all other symbols produce wins between 0.1x and 2x your bet.
In addition, Wild symbols substitute for all win evaluations they are a part of. Wild symbols can only be created and are removed from the grid unless no other symbols remain.
Lastly, each winning cluster is taken from the grid and paid out, while remaining symbols drop to the bottom of the grid. After a win occurs, a Wild symbol is positioned in the middle of the previous winning cluster.

Win Multiplier
During each spin, between 3 & 10 grid positions are highlighted. When a winning cluster accumulates on a highlighted position, the Global Multiplier increases by +x1, up to a maximum of x100.
Further winning clusters in the same spin are multiplied by the current Global Multiplier, which then resets at the start of the next spin. If all highlighted positions are activated, a 5x your bet Constellation Prize is awarded, times the current Global Multiplier.
Resonance Meter
Outside the main grid, on the leftmost side, is a special Resonance Meter with 3 set Levels. The meter is filled with high-paying (character) symbols and Wilds from winning clusters.
When no more wins are available and the meter is filled,1 Resonance Spin activates, triggering the Girl Power feature and resetting the Global Multiplier. The order of each Princess played out is Astra, Nova, & Star.
Clearing the entire grid of symbols will trigger the Free Spins mode.

Girl Power
The Girl Power feature may also trigger randomly in the base game. The active Princess depends on which one is visible at the time the feature occurs. Once active, the current Princess will award her special Modifier:
- Astra: Adds 1-2 Wild symbols to the grid, which remain in view after they are part of winning clusters
- Nova: Adds 2-5 Wild symbols in a diagonal win line
- Star: Awards 2-3 Wild symbols to random grid positions
Once the current Princess has completed its Modifier, it is switched out for a new Princess with the next spin.

Grid Clear
Clearing the grid entirely of high and low-paying symbols will instantly award a fixed payout of 20x your bet, except during Resonance Spins.
Moon Princess Free Spins
Once the Free Spins bonus is active, you can choose 1 of 3 Princess Modes from the girl power feature, which remains active throughout the entire bonus.
In this round, the Global Multiplier does not reset and can achieve up to x100 as a result. Filling the Resonance Meter provides additional Free Spins, up to a maximum of 50.
Our Honest Verdict
Moon Princess was always going to be a series that Play’n GO returned to. It’s probably a bit of a cash cow, and the original certainly has enough of a following to intrigue when a new one releases.
Moon Princess Stargazing beats the original with its potential, with 10,000x up for grabs as a max. You never really see it with Play’n GO, though. YouTube isn’t full of max win videos for any Play’n GO slot, so take the stats with a pinch of salt.
We did like the new Astra and Nova princesses, but they didn’t really make a significant impression. If anything, we’re a little ticked off at Love and Storm’s redundancies. We may start a petition.
Overall, its a solid game, but nothing overly significant when compared to the original, and unlikely to gain as much traction.
