Big Bass Halloween Base Game and Features

Big Bass Halloween is a 5-reel Video Slot with 10 fixed pay lines. Winning combinations are formed when 3 or more of the same symbols (or 2 or more of the highest-paying symbol) lands from left to right, starting from the leftmost reel.

The minimum bet available here is £.€0.10 per spin and the maximum bet available is £.€250 per spin, with plenty of other options in between the two. This game has a theoretical RTP of 96.04% and a max win cap of 2,100x.

In terms of symbols, the highest-paying regular symbol here is the Life Ring, followed by the Hook, Crow, Tacklebox, and any 3 Fish symbols. Low-paying symbols are standard Ace, King, Queen, Jack, and Ten. Wilds appear only in Free Spins, substituting for all other symbols except Scatters.

Ante Bet

Before you can begin spinning, you will be given the option to activate the Ante Bet feature. Choosing to activate this feature will increase your current bet by 50%. Once active, extra Scatters are added to the reels, meaning that your chances of triggering the Free Spins round are naturally higher.

Money Symbols

Fish symbols will land in view with a special Money value between 2x and 2,000x your bet. The value of each Fish symbol is inactive until you reach the Free Spins round.

Big Bass Halloween Free Spins

Landing 3, 4, or 5 Scatters in the base game triggers the Free Spins round, awarding 10, 15, and 20 Free Spins respectively.

During Free Spins, Fisherman Wilds come into play. Each time a Fisherman Wild lands in view, it will collect all Money values from present Fish symbols. After this, the Fisherman Wild will be added to the Trail above the reel set.

Every 4th Fisherman Wild collected will retrigger the round, awarding +10 Free Spins and a Multiplier that is applied to Money symbols. The first retrigger increases the Multiplier to x2, followed by x3 and x10 for the second and third retriggers.

Randomly, when there is 1 Fisherman Wild in view at the end of a spin, Fish Money symbols will appear in view in random positions.

Big Bass Halloween: Our Verdict

Reel Kingdom proves that any type of game theme can be used to create something unique, even Fishing slots such as this one. We never thought we’d see the day that everyone’s favourite Fishing series would take a spooky turn, yet there seems to be no end to Reel Kingdom’s imagination.

Although Big Bass Halloween wins points for the changes in design, it doesn’t raise the hairs on our necks in terms of gameplay. Usually, positive changes in theme would bring about certain alterations in gameplay, yet Reel Kingdom has stuck to their guns this time. Collecting 4 Fisherman Wilds in Free Spins seems a little unfair considering how hard it is to land them in general.

Given how popular the Big Bass series is, maybe Reel Kingdom felt it unnecessary to make changes to gameplay that has already won the hearts of many, but we can’t help but feel a little disappointed.

What is definitely disappointing is the max win cap up for grabs. Big Bass Halloween may look scary on the outside, but the max win cap of 2,100x says otherwise.

All in all, it doesn’t come as a surprise that Reel Kingdom has expanded the series once more, but where will they take the series next we wonder?
