Immortal Romance 2 Slot Review 2024

Finally, the highly anticipated Immortal Romance 2 is almost upon us. Immortal Romance lives in the slot hall of fame as an early example of a slot that dared to be different. With an intense theme and gamification, Immortal Romance took the world by storm at a time when gothic romance was all the rage. The release of Twilight saw to that, and Sarah, Michael, Amber and Troy enjoyed their share of popularity. For its time, Immortal Romance had what many considered to be advanced gameplay and features. It had more than one bonus round and a progression system to unlock them, giving it longevity that few other slots possessed.

All of this plus an excellent soundtrack made Immortal Romance truly immortal, and to succeed it comes its long-awaited sequel. Immortal Romance 2 has been given to the capable hands of Stormcraft Studios, the studio that gave us the might Thunderstruck Wild Lightning and more.

Immortal Romance II has big shoes to fill. Can the sequel make a statement today like it did back then? Slots have evolved, and Immortal Romance II’s biggest hurdle may be its ability to stand out amongst other innovative titles. Nostalgia is a powerful tool – this and Stormcraft Studios’ brilliant aptitude for the craft of engineering a slot may well be enough to propel the sequel into the limelight that its predecessor never really left behind.

Immortal Romance 2- Slot Symbols & Paylines

Immortal Romance 2 is a 5-reel, 3-row Video Slot, playable from £.€0.10 per spin, up to a maximum bet limit of £.€20 per spin. Simply toggle through the available betting options until you find one that is suitable for you.

Immortal Romance 2 has 7 High-paying and 5 Low-paying symbols available, with the highest-paying Character producing wins of up to 4.5x your bet for a full 5-line winning combination. Low-paying symbols are standard A, K, Q, J, and 10. Wilds substitute for all other symbols except Scatters and Character symbols (when a Gem is present).

Wins occur when 3-5 identical symbols land from left to right, starting from the leftmost reel, across 243 active ways to win. All winning symbols are removed from play via the Rolling Reels feature when a win is created. All empty positions are then filled with new symbols that drop in from above, potentially creating or enhancing a win on the reels.

Immortal Romance 2 RTP, Volatility, & Max Win – Hot or Not?

Immortal Romance 2 has a theoretical RTP of 96.30% and a High Volatility rating. Stormcraft Studios has also included lower RTP options of 94.30% and 92.30%. Be sure to check with your chosen Casino which RTP is available.

High volatility slots like this one are better suited to players in search of bigger wins, though they tend to come in less frequently. Slots such as this one have a higher potential to reward big wins, yet smaller wins are far greater in the short term. In addition, Immortal Romance 2 is kitted out with a max win cap of 15,000x your bet.

Immortal Romance 2 Special Features

Immortal Romance 2 returns with the Wild Desire feature, as well as Character Jackpots, a Jackpot Wheel, a Progressive Bloodline, Locking Wilds, and a Bonus Buy option.

Wild Desire

When 2 Blood Drop symbols land on reels 2 & 4 in the base game (or via the Jackpot Wheel), the Wild Desire feature is activated. The Wild Desire feature is a single spin that can transform up to 5 reels into Wilds. The rolling reels feature does not occur during this time. This feature is played out on an extended 5×4 reel set with 1,024 active ways to win.

In addition to this, landing 1 Blood Drop symbol can randomly increase the Wild Desire Multiplier by 0.5x your bet, up to a maximum of 3x your bet. This multiplier is applied to all wins that occur during the Wild Desire feature. At the end of the Wild Desire feature, the Multiplier is reset to a random value.

Character Jackpots & Jackpot Wheel

Each Character symbol to the left of the reel set is equipped with their own Jackpot Prize. Collecting coloured Gems increments the corresponding value of its Jackpot Prize. Each time a Gem is collected, it enhances your chances of triggering the Jackpot Wheel.

  • Sarah (Green) – Awards between 20x and 1,500x your bet.
  • Michael (Blue) – Awards between 10x and 200x your bet.
  • Troy (Red) – Awards between 5x and 75x your bet.
  • Amber (Gold) – Awards between 5x and 50x your bet.

When the Jackpot Wheel is active, 1 of 4 Character Jackpots or a Wild Desire feature trigger is awarded at random. The current Wild Desire Multiplier is applied to all wins in the Wild Desire feature triggered via the Jackpot Wheel. The Jackpot Wheel can only be triggered in the base game.

Bloodline

The Bloodline meter at the bottom of the reel set progresses with each spin until Immortality is achieved at 5,000 spins. Along the way, in-game soundtracks and skins are unlocked. This addition is for entertainment purposes only and does not affect gameplay.

Multiplier Wilds & Locking Wilds

When Wild symbols are part of a winning combination, a Multiplier value of x2, x3, x4, x5, or x6 can be revealed. This occurs only in the base game and Amber’s Free Spins round. The Multiplier is applied to all wins it is a part of and is removed along with winning symbols via the Rolling Reels feature.

Locking Wilds appear on all reels except reel 1, remaining present on the reels for the duration of rolls, and are only removed at the start of each spin. Furthermore, Locking Wilds do not appear in Michael or Sarah’s Free Spins rounds, and are only present on reel 3 during Troy’s Free Spins round.

Bonus Buy

Players can buy their way into Free Spins for an additional 100x their bet. Once 1,000 spins have taken place, the option to purchase the Wild Desire feature becomes available (100x your bet).

Immortal Romance 2 Bonus Rounds & Free Spins

Landing 3, 4, or 5 Scatters in the base awards a payout of 1x, 5x, and 25x your bet respectively, opening up the Free Spins selection panel.

Conclusion

It’s clear to see that Stormcraft Studios saw the handling of Immortal Romance 2 as no trivial matter. The original is still one of Games Global’s top-performing games even now, and any sequel to it would have to do the original justice.

Everything that players love about the original is back for round 2, including a brilliant soundtrack that made it so recognisable. Stormcraft Studios even drafted the same singer for the sequel, showing their commitment to continuity with their most beloved IP. Each bonus round is interesting and exciting, and the aspect of gamification is back again, making it feel more immersive than you’d expect of a slot. There’s an element of achievement of climbing through the ‘immortality’ ranks as you unlock songs, skins for the slot and even a Wild Desire purchase for markets where it’s allowed.

In many ways, Immortal Romance 2 is just as it was, but in many others, it’s completely different. The addition of a local jackpot is an interesting choice, but many have an aversion to this type of feature. One welcome returning feature is the Wild Desire Feature, which stood out perhaps the most exciting feature when Microgaming graced us with the original all those years ago. This time, it benefits from a multiplier, which ups the appeal significantly.

The maximum win here is 15,000x the bet. It’s not too far removed from the original, which boasted of a 12,000x cap, which was massive for its time. Some will have hoped for a higher ceiling in this regard, but it’s still quite significant.

Overall, Immortal Romance 2 does the original justice in our opinion. Maybe will call it inferior to the original, but nostalgia really is a hard barrier to break. We think if given the chance, Immortal Romance 2 could reignite a feeling that many lost when the world moved on from gothic vampiric romance. It has all of the best bits of the game that you love, plus some welcome extras.
