Pineapple Pop Base Game

Pineapple Pop Base Game and Features

Pineapple Pop is a 6-reel Video Slot with up to 262,144 ways to win. Forming wins requires 3 or more of the same symbols to land from left to right, starting from the leftmost reel.

Pineapple Pop can be played for as little as £.€0.20 per spin, up to a maximum of £.€50 per spin, with multiple options in between the two. This game has a theoretical RTP of 96.005 and a max win cap of 5,000x.

The highest-paying symbol here is the Watermelon, followed by the Orange, Kiwi, Blueberry, Strawberry, Lemon, Pear, and Plum. Low-paying symbols fall to Cherries, Bananas, Limes, and Grapes. Wilds appear on reels 2-6, substituting for all other symbols except Scatters.

Each time a win forms, all winning symbols will be removed and new symbols will drop in from above via a Rolling Reels Feature. This continues until no more winning combinations are formed. After a winning Cascade, an additional row of symbols is added to the top of the reels, up to a maximum of 4.

Jumbo Blocks

During rolling reels, random symbols can land in a Jumbo Block of 2×2, 3×3, or 4×4, appearing only on reels 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6. Jumbo Blocks can appear as any symbol except Scatters and Wilds.

When a Jumbo Block lands on top of an existing gap, the Wild Fill Feature will activate. This causes Wild symbols to fill all empty positions below the Jumbo Block that it couldn’t fit into.

Second Chance

For every Scatter that lands (and does not trigger Free Spins), a special Second Chance Feature activates. At the end of all wins, the Second Chance Feature will commence.

Once active, up to 12 symbols within a diamond-shaped area around each Scatter will explode, giving space for additional Scatters to drop in. Scatters do not explode Wilds, Jumbo Blocks, or other Scatters.

Pineapple Pop Free Spins

Landing 3 Pineapple Scatters in the base game triggers the Free Spins round, awarding 6 Free Spins, Each additional Scatter after the 3rd will award an extra +3 Free Spins respectively.

The round begins with an Elevator set to 4 rows. The elevator will move up +1 row after each winning spin, locking in higher minimum ways to win for the duration of Free Spins, up to a maximum of 8 rows high.

Persistent Wilds

Once all wins are complete, any Wilds in view will be collected at the bottom of the reel set. Wilds persist until they are part of a winning combination. This feature is only available in Free Spins.

Pineapple Pop: Our Verdict

After a couple of months of everything Christmas-related, Pineapple Pop is the kind of breath of fresh air we could all do with to start the new year out right. Pineapple Pop draws you in with its bright colours, mouth-watering fruit symbols, and picturesque holiday destination, but did gameplay do the same?

Pineapple Pop has been portrayed in a way that makes it look and feel similar to slots from AvatarUX and ELK Studios, yet it stands out all on its own thanks to a number of gripping features. Pineapple Pop begins with 4,096 ways to win, increasing to new heights of up to 262,144 ways when wins continuously roll in.

Every so often Jumbo Blocks may appear on the reels, increasing your chances of either creating or enhancing wins on the reels. This, combined with the Wild Fill Feature makes for exciting gameplay and a boost in potential.

Landing 1-2 Scatters and failing to trigger Free Spins isn’t quite a kick in the teeth here. Thanks to Neon Valley Studios’ generous consideration for their players, failing to land enough scatters will enable the Second Chance Feature, where a small portion of the reel set around the scatters will clear, in hopes of landing additional Scatters and grabbing yourself a one-way-ticket to Free Spins.

It’s here in Free Spins that you will quickly become acquainted with Persistent Wilds. Wilds that are not used in a win will be put to the bottom of the reel set and will remain there until they are used as part of a win.

All in all, Pineapple Pop is a great first offering from Neon Valley Studios for 2024 and one we look forward to playing in the not-too-distant future!
