12 Coins Slot Review
Gold filigree corners a reel frame hanging in a deep blue starfield, pinpoint stars scattered behind it, one bright glint off to the left. 12 Coins is dressed like a luxury slot, yet it has no paytable at all – there is nothing to line up, not one regular symbol, and every prize in the game sits inside a single bonus round. The base game is a lobby.
Wazdan have built it on a 3×4 grid of 12 independent reels, running at 96.13% RTP with all winnings capped at 750x the bet through a GRAND Jackpot. The same idea runs through their coin family, from 9 Coins Grand Diamond Edition to Hot Slot: 777 Coins, with 25 Coins x3000 stretching it wider still. Twelve reels means twelve chances at the one prize that matters.
Twelve Reels and Nothing to Line Up
There are no regular symbols in the base game. Not low-paying royals, not picture symbols – nothing you could line up for a win if you wanted to. Prizes can only be won in the Bonus Game, and every Bonus symbol pays only there too.
What the reels show instead are coins: Cash symbols, Cash Infinity symbols, and the occasional Mystery symbol drifting through the dark. Each of the game’s special symbols has a single job, and the whole set only settles up once the bonus is done:
- Cash symbols – 1x to 5x the bet, paid at the end of the Bonus Game
- Cash Infinity symbols – 5x to 10x the bet, sticky from the moment they land
- Collector symbol – sweeps up Cash and Cash Infinity values, multiplies them by 1x to 20x
- Mystery symbol – transforms into any Bonus symbol except Cash Infinity
- Jackpot Mystery symbol – transforms only into MINI, MINOR or MAJOR Jackpot symbols
- MINI Jackpot – 10x the bet
- MINOR Jackpot – 20x the bet
- MAJOR Jackpot – 50x the bet
- GRAND Jackpot – 750x the bet
Multiple jackpots of the same type can be won in a single Bonus Game, so the ladder isn’t a one-visit-per-round affair. The prize ladder you see on screen tracks your current bet, and the paytable always reflects your bet configuration, so the coin values scale with whatever you’re staking.
Cash Infinity Symbols
Cash Infinity symbols appear randomly in the base game and stick where they land. They stay locked in place while the other symbols spin around them, and they hold their value until the Bonus Game ends – that’s when they actually pay.
Land one on the middle row and it also boosts the odds of triggering the bonus. That makes every middle-row Cash Infinity a small event in a game that otherwise doesn’t pay anything out here.
Hold the Jackpot Bonus Game
The Bonus Game triggers when four Bonus symbols of any type land on the middle row. Given that sticky Cash Infinity symbols on the middle row improve the odds, the base game becomes a slow exercise in feeding that row. Once it fires, the whole 12-reel grid turns into a hold-and-respin round.
Re-Spins and Sticky Coins
All Bonus symbols stick to the reels for the duration. You start with three re-spins, and every new Bonus symbol that lands resets the count to three. The round runs until the re-spins run out or all twelve reels are filled.
Everything about the round carries over from the spin that set it off. The Bonus Game plays at the same bet level and the same volatility level as the triggering spin, so what you stake going in is what every coin value in the round is measured against.
Filling all twelve is the only route to the GRAND Jackpot, which pays 750x the bet outright, with no Bonus symbol values added on top. It’s a deliberately blunt prize: the GRAND is the maximum in the game, full stop.
The Collector Symbol
The Collector symbol appears during the Bonus Game and does one job: it sweeps up every value showing on Cash and Cash Infinity symbols, then multiplies the total by a random factor between 1x and 20x. On a board stacked with coins, a high Collector multiplier is where the biggest non-GRAND results come from.
Mystery Symbols
Two mystery flavours round out the round. The plain Mystery symbol can transform into any other Bonus symbol except Cash Infinity. The Jackpot Mystery symbol is narrower: it only becomes MINI, MINOR or MAJOR Jackpot symbols.
Both open one by one at the end of the Bonus Game, which drags the finale out a little – a board with several of them reveals itself coin by coin. When the round ends, the prize is the sum of all Bonus symbol values, including any MINI, MINOR and MAJOR Jackpots collected – unless the GRAND is won, in which case it replaces the lot.
Volatility Levels and the Buy Feature
The Bonus Game is played at the same bet level and Volatility Level as the spin that activated it. There’s also a Buy Feature, and it does something specific here: using it lets you activate the Hold the Jackpot Bonus Game on Extreme and Double Extreme volatility levels, settings characterised by even bigger wins than the other Volatility Levels.
The cap shapes everything either way. Winnings max out at 750x the bet, so Double Extreme volatility doesn’t unlock a bigger ceiling – it changes the shape of the road to the same summit.
Our Honest Verdict
Overall Rating: 6.8/10
Playing 12 Coins is watching the starfield and feeding the middle row. That’s the whole game, and it’s honest about it: nothing pays until the bonus fires, so every spin is really a step towards the one round that matters. If you buy into that build, twelve reels of it is a lot of build.
The bonus is easily the best part. Resetting re-spins keep a bad board alive, and a Collector multiplier on a coin-heavy grid can outrun the GRAND’s own value in feeling if not in maths. The weakness is the ceiling – 750x is a small summit for a jackpot game, and the GRAND replacing every symbol value rather than stacking on them pins the best possible result to exactly that figure.
This one’s for hold-and-win players who enjoy the chase more than the number at the end of it, under some of the nicest night-sky visuals Wazdan have put on a coin slot. Anyone chasing four-figure max wins will want more from the summit than this sky offers.
