3 Chinese Charms Slot Review
Waterfalls spill down dark cliffs into a still lake fringed with reeds, a many-tiered pagoda dissolves into pink-violet cloud above the reels, and three fat ceramic charm pots brim with gold along the top of the frame. 3 Chinese Charms spends everything it has on one moment, and until that moment arrives it pays like a game that has already given up on the spin you’re watching. Even its best symbols only hand back 50x for five of a kind, which tells you where the real money lives.
It’s a hold-and-hit collector from Spinomenal, the studio behind Bavarian Riches 3, running on a 5×3 grid with 10 fixed lines. The return is operator-configurable, with four settings topping out at 96.11% at the friendliest one, so what you actually get depends on where you play.
The maximum win is 3,000x your stake; the ceiling sits inside the bonus round, where collected winnings stop at x3000. What the base game offers in the meantime is modest, and that shapes everything about how it plays.
Base Game & Features
Wins form on 10 fixed lines across a 5×3 grid, left to right, with only the highest combination per line counting. A wild symbol substitutes for the paying symbols and helps complete line wins.
Beyond that, the base game’s job is to feed the collector: bonus symbols and special bonus symbols build up over spins, and the occasional Bonus Blast can force the issue. The paytable is honest about its priorities. Five of a kind is where the money sits, and even the top tier is restrained:
- Red Bag / Gold Ingot – 4x for three, 10x for four, 50x for five
- Green Lantern / Fan – 2x for three, 8x for four, 25x for five
- A, K, Q, J – 1x for three, 3x for four, 10x for five
Royals make up the bulk of the symbol set, and their ceiling of 10x tells you most of what you need to know about base-game economics. The gap between a five-of-a-kind premium and a five-of-a-kind royal is 5x versus 50x, so symbol quality matters far more than symbol count. Line wins here are steady rather than spectacular.
Bonus Blast
Bonus Blast can activate at random during base play, but only after special bonus symbols have been collected over previous spins. Each special type is tracked separately, and the blast needs at least one special bonus symbol on the reels to fire.
When it triggers, additional bonus and special bonus symbols of the previously collected types spread across the reels, ensuring enough land to start the Bonus Game. It’s a rescue mechanic for near-misses, and it only works during the base game.
3 Chinese Charms Bonus Game & Jackpots
Bonus Game – Hold & Hit
Six or more qualifying symbols, in any combination of bonus symbols and special bonus symbols (COLLECT, BOOST, MULTI or Jackpot), lock in place and start the round. It opens with three spins, and any new symbol that lands resets the counter back to three.
Empty spots can randomly award special bonus symbols and prizes as multipliers of your bet:
- Cash prizes of x1, x2, x3, x4, x5, x7 or x10
- Bonus jackpot multipliers
- Special symbols: BOOST, COLLECT, MULTI and MYSTERY
One restriction keeps the round honest: the special features available are limited to the special bonus symbols that appeared in the triggering spin, or that a Mystery symbol reveals during the round. The Bonus Game ends after three consecutive spins without a new symbol, once collected winnings reach the x3000 cap, or when all 15 cells fill.
Whatever has been collected is then summed and paid. Those three end conditions pull in different directions. The spin counter makes every empty spin a countdown; the cap means a board stacked with high-value prizes can end early on total alone; and the full grid is the only route to the top jackpot. A round that fills slowly, prize by prize, is the one worth watching.
Special Symbols
Four specials give the round its shape. BOOST picks a random value from x2 to x10 of the bet, adds it to every symbol on the reels and keeps that value itself. MULTI selects x2, x3 or x5, multiplies all symbols on the reels by it, then takes its own value from the same multiplier.
COLLECT gathers the values of all bonus symbols on the reels into itself. MYSTERY transforms at random into a BOOST, MULTI, COLLECT or Jackpot symbol. The order these land in matters: a Boost or Multi before a Collect stacks the board before it’s swept.
Jackpots
Jackpot symbols appear at random during the Bonus Game and pay as multipliers of the bet:
- GRAND Jackpot – x3000, awarded for filling all 15 cells
- Major Jackpot – x150
- Minor Jackpot – x50
- Mini Jackpot – x20
The Grand sits behind the hardest condition in the game: every cell on the 5×3 grid occupied. Short of that, the Major at x150 is the biggest fixed prize on the ladder.
Bonus Buy
A BUY FEATURE button sits in the base-game interface and purchases the Bonus Game directly. No purchase prices are published for this game, so what the round costs depends on the operator and the stake setting.
Players who prefer to skip the build can; everyone else earns it the slow way.
Our Honest Verdict
Overall Rating: 7/10
Playing 3 Chinese Charms is mostly waiting by a very pretty lake. Somebody picks this game for one reason: the hold-and-hit round, where the charm pots finally pay out what they’ve been hoarding.
That round is the best thing here, and not by default. The specials genuinely interact, so a Boost or Multi landing before a Collect can double a board’s value in one spin, and the three-spin reset means a filling grid stays tense to the last drop. The weakness is everything around it: the base paytable tops out at 50x for five of a kind, so the stretches between bonus games pay pocket change and ask a lot of patience in return.
Collect-and-hold players will feel at home here, and the jackpot ladder gives the full-grid finish a payoff worth chasing. Anyone who wants regular, meaningful base-game wins won’t find them in this gorge. For the patient, the pots do fill.
3 Chinese Charms FAQs
-
How do you trigger the Bonus Game in 3 Chinese Charms?
Land six or more qualifying symbols in a single spin. Any mix of bonus symbols and special bonus symbols (COLLECT, BOOST, MULTI or Jackpot) counts, the triggering symbols lock in place, and the round begins with three spins. -
What do the BOOST, MULTI and COLLECT symbols do in 3 Chinese Charms?
BOOST draws a value of x2, x3, x4, x5, x7 or x10 of your bet, adds it to every symbol on the reels and keeps it as its own. MULTI picks x2, x3 or x5, applies that multiplier across the board, then takes its own value from the result. COLLECT sweeps up all bonus symbol values on the reels into a single prize. -
What jackpots are available in 3 Chinese Charms?
Four sit on the ladder: the Mini at x20, Minor at x50, Major at x150, and the GRAND at x3000. The GRAND only pays when all 15 cells on the grid fill during the Bonus Game. Jackpot symbols appear at random as the round plays out. -
What does the MYSTERY symbol do in 3 Chinese Charms?
It only appears during the Bonus Game, and it transforms at random into a BOOST, MULTI, COLLECT or Jackpot symbol. Because special features are limited to those present in the triggering spin, a Mystery reveal is the only other way a new special can enter the round. -
What is the Bonus Blast feature in 3 Chinese Charms?
It’s a random base-game event that only becomes possible once special bonus symbols have been collected over previous spins, with each type tracked separately, and it needs at least one special on the reels. When it fires, extra symbols of the collected types spread across the reels to guarantee the six needed for the Bonus Game. -
How many paylines does 3 Chinese Charms have?
3 Chinese Charms has 10 fixed paylines on a 5×3 grid, with wins paid left to right and only the highest combination per line counting. -
Can you buy the bonus on 3 Chinese Charms?
Yes. The BUY FEATURE option purchases the Bonus Game outright, skipping the base-game build entirely. Pricing isn’t published for this game, so check the cost in the game itself before committing. -
When is 3 Chinese Charms released?
3 Chinese Charms’ release date is 7 September 2026. It’s made by Spinomenal.
