3 Porky Banks Sky High Slot Review
Three cartoon pig heads watch the reels from gold pillars above, and that’s not decoration – it’s the payout plan. 3 Porky Banks Sky High pays its biggest prizes only to pigs that actually fly, and how far they get decides everything. Iron Dog Studio has hung the whole game on that single flight, and it’s a bolder bet than a circus theme usually is.
It’s a 5×3 grid with 25 winlines, an RTP of 95.22%, and stakes from 0.20 to 40.00 per spin. The studio’s back catalogue already runs to Wheel of Porkies and 1 Million Fortunes Megaways. This one rests on a single flying-pig feature rather than a stack of rounds, and whether one idea can carry a whole show is the question.
Wilds and the 25 Winlines
Wins need matching symbols on consecutive reels from reel 1, along an active winline. Wins on several winlines are added together and paid against the total bet. Standard left-to-right business, nothing exotic.
Wilds can land on all five reels and substitute for every non-special symbol. If a run of wilds is broken up by a special symbol, the win is simply worked out from the paytable as it stands. They don’t replace the Pig Coins.
That exclusion matters, because the Pig Coins are what the game is really built around. Four kinds exist, and up to one Pig Coin can sit on any given reel at a time:
- Special Blue Pig Coin
- Special Purple Pig Coin
- Special Red Pig Coin
- Special Multi Pig Coin, which counts as blue, purple and red at once
The Multi Pig Coin is the one to hope for. Because it counts as all three colours simultaneously, a single Multi launches one pig of each colour, which is three-quarters of a full launch from one symbol. It can only ever be one coin per reel, so the best possible board offers one of each kind across five reels.
A board like that doesn’t come around by accident. With five reels and a one-coin cap per reel, a launch covering all three colours needs either a Multi or the right single-colour coins scattered across the grid, and the game doesn’t offer a scatter-pay shortcut around it. Every coin has to sit on a real reel position, bought with a real spin.
The Sky High Pigs Feature
When one or more Pig Coins are on the board, the Sky High Pigs Feature can trigger. For every Pig Coin colour present, one pig of that colour is launched. The pigs don’t just fly for show.
Each pig travels independently and its cash value climbs the whole way. The farther it flies, the bigger the prizes it can pick up en route. The three colour-trimmed pillars above the reels turn out to be the launch pads, one for each pig colour.
Run it as the game does, step by step. First the coins land and the feature fires. Then the pigs launch, one per colour present on the board. As they climb, two things happen in parallel: each pig’s own cash value grows with distance, and any pig passing through a line in the sky drops pips onto the jackpot counters. When the feature ends, completed counters pay out and the flight is over.
Each crossing by at least one pig adds between one and five pips, distributed at random, onto the jackpot counters. Five counters sit there waiting, each with its own number of empty pips to fill:
- Mini – 3 pips
- Minor – 4 pips
- Major – 5 pips
- Mega – 6 pips
- Grand – 7 pips
Fill every pip on a counter and that jackpot pays out when the feature ends. Once a counter is full, further pips can’t be added to it, so a long flight doesn’t waste itself on an already-won tier. The pigs themselves keep collecting regardless, up until they land.
The number of pigs aloft is what shapes a feature. A solo blue coin launching one pig is a thin shot at filling anything above the Mini. A board carrying blue, purple and red coins sends up a formation, tripling the crossings and spreading the random pip drops across more counters in a single round.
The Jackpot Ladder
The five tiers are on display down the left side of the base game, and they’re the game’s real prize structure. Each pays a fixed multiple of the stake:
- Mini – 15x the bet
- Minor – 50x the bet
- Major – 150x the bet
- Mega – 1,000x the bet
- Grand – 5,000x the bet
The pip counts are what make the ladder interesting. The Mini needs only three pips, so it’s the tier most likely to complete during a single feature. The Grand needs seven, which asks a lot of one flight. And the money is heavily weighted to the top: the Grand alone is worth five times the Mega and more than thirty times the Major, so the tiers a feature actually completes are the cheap ones.
Because pip drops are random between one and five, a lucky crossing can nearly fill the Mini on its own. Equally, a feature can end with several counters sitting one pip short, which is how the ladder keeps its pull. There’s no carry-over stated between features, so each launch starts with empty counters and its own odds.
It’s worth being clear about what the game doesn’t promise elsewhere. There’s no free spins round, no respins, no pick-me. The Sky High Pigs Feature is the only feature beyond the wilds, and every prize of note routes through either a winline or a jackpot counter.
Our Honest Verdict
Overall Rating: 7.1/10
Most of your time here is spent watching a plain 5×3 grid, waiting for Pig Coins. That’s the honest shape of it, and the reason anybody sits through the wait is the flight itself: three pigs climbing past sky lines while five jackpot counters tick upwards, which is a better show than most slots manage between features.
The pip ladder is genuinely well made. Because the Mini needs three pips and the Grand seven, a single launch can realistically pay something while leaving the 5,000x tier dangling unfinished, and that tension is worth more than a stack of half-hearted side rounds would have been. The cost is the ground game: between coins there’s nothing but wilds and winlines, and 95.22% doesn’t soften that.
This is one for players who’d rather one strong centrepiece than a crowded programme, and who don’t mind long quiet stretches under the striped canopy to earn it. Anyone needing constant features to stay interested will find the tent half empty. For the rest, the flying pigs are worth the ticket.
