Age of Conquest Diamonds & Dragons Slot Review
A dragon egg burns in an open flame at the foot of a spilled heap of gold and cut diamonds, the carved-gold frame above it glowing from the heat. Age of Conquest Diamonds & Dragons, from Neon Valley Studios, wagers everything on that hoard. The base game is one long accumulation whose value rests on a bonus round you can neither buy, count down to, nor influence.
It runs on a 5×3 grid with 20 fixed paylines, a 96.00% RTP and very high volatility, with stakes from 0.20 to 200.00. A full board of 20 Bonus Prizes pays 1 000x the bet. If the collect-and-unleash shape appeals, it’s in good company alongside the studio’s Arctic Enchantress and Genie’s Arabian Riches.
Base Game & Features
The base game is a 5×3 grid with 20 fixed paylines. That number can’t be adjusted, and wins run left to right from the first reel, with only the highest combination counting on any single line. Stakes run from 0.20 to 200.00 per spin.
The hit frequency sits at 29.54%, so rather fewer than a third of spins produce any win at all. Two women lead the paytable: red-haired and blue, paying from two of a kind. The red-haired woman is the top symbol at 50x for five.
Horses, griffins and battle gear fill the middle, with a royal-flush run of A, K, Q, J, 10 and 9 below them.
- Woman (red hair): 0.3x / 2.5x / 10x / 50x for 2, 3, 4, 5 of a kind
- Woman (blue): 0.2x / 2x / 6x / 25x
- Horse: 1.5x / 5x / 20x for 3, 4, 5
- Eagle/Griffin and Shield & Sword: 1x / 4x / 10x
- A: 0.5x / 3x / 6x
- K: 0.5x / 2.5x / 5x
- Q: 0.5x / 2x / 4x
- J: 0.5x / 1.5x / 3x
- 10: 0.4x / 1x / 2x
- 9: 0.2x / 0.4x / 1x / 2x
Wilds are dragon coins that substitute for everything except Scatters, land stacked, and multiply any win they’re part of by 2x. They appear in the base game only.
Fill every position on the reels with them and the Wild Blackout pays 2,000x the bet on top of the 20 line wins. That’s comfortably the loudest thing the base game can do.
Scatters and Bonus Enhancers
Scatters are dragon eggs, restricted to reels 2, 3 and 4, base game only. Each one can carry a Bonus Enhancer Token, and every token that lands is collected. There’s no skill to it and nothing to activate.
The tokens simply bank towards three indicators that shape the bonus round when it eventually arrives:
- Bonus Prize Tokens: 1-9 can be collected, each adding a Bonus Prize to the feature
- Bonus Multiplier Tokens: each adds 0.5x to the multiplier indicator, up to 10x
- Bonus Spins Tokens: 4-12 can be collected, each adding a spin to the feature
The indicators reset once a Bonus Feature finishes. The reset doesn’t wipe the slate, though: a small starting allocation of prizes, multiplier and spins survives, so the build is never fully lost.
The Bonus Trigger
Here’s the part that divides opinion on games built this way. The Bonus Feature can’t be bought, can’t be landed by a set number of Scatters, and can’t be retriggered once it starts.
Instead, whenever an egg lands there’s a chance the round simply erupts there and then. The collection meter around the trigger is visual only and has no bearing on when the feature fires, so don’t read anything into it.
Age of Conquest Diamonds & Dragons Bonus Feature
When the Bonus Feature hits, it pays out everything the base game has been banking, all at once. You’re awarded a combination of 1-20 Bonus Prizes, a 1.5x-10x Bonus Multiplier and 4-12 Bonus Spins, all at the bet that triggered it, with the numbers fixed at the moment of trigger.
The round plays out on a grid of 20 Bonus Tiles. Prizes you brought in from the base game start on the grid and are held for the duration; the remaining tiles respin independently on every spin, and any tile can randomly turn into a Bonus Prize. Extra prizes can also be awarded outright on any spin.
Prize values run from 1x to 20x the bet.
The Bonus Multiplier works alongside the tiles. At the end of every spin it can be randomly applied to a single Bonus Prize value, at anything from 1.5x to 10x, and it can touch a maximum of 12 prizes across the whole feature.
It can’t grow during the round, and no extra spins can be added either: what you trigger with is what you get.
Collecting prizes in volume unlocks a separate cash ladder on top of the individual tile values:
- 5 Bonus Prizes: 5x the bet
- 10 Bonus Prizes: 15x the bet
- 15 Bonus Prizes: 30x the bet
- 18 Bonus Prizes: 50x the bet
- 20 Bonus Prizes: 1 000x the bet
All wins are paid once the feature completes and are added to any base game wins from the triggering spin. The ladder’s shape is steep: the jump from 18 to 20 prizes is twenty times the size of the jump from 15 to 18, so a full board is doing almost all the work at the top.
The design logic is straightforward: the base game feeds the feature, the feature resets the base game, and the cycle starts again from the post-feature defaults. Everything the base game offers beyond that loop is the stacked 2x wilds and the 2,000x Blackout.
Our Honest Verdict
Overall Rating: 7.7/10
Playing this is mostly tending a hoard: banking tokens towards a round you can’t summon, while the stacked wilds and the odd Blackout keep the middle stretches honest. The reason to choose it is that rare thing, a bonus round that actually escalates rather than just playing out: prizes land and hold, blanks respin, the multiplier pings a different value every spin. It compounds.
The strength is the ladder. Going from 18 prizes to 20 multiplies the payout twentyfold, so the feature has a real top end worth chasing rather than a plateau.
The weakness is the door: it opens when the game decides and not before, and all that careful collecting buys better odds of a good round, never the round itself. For patient bankroll players who enjoy a long build with one decisive payoff, it’s a rich hoard. Anyone who wants pace, or a bonus they can buy on demand, will find the wait poor value. The dragon pays the persistent.
