Amazing Builder Gryphon Slot Review
Half eagle, half lion and famously bad at sharing, the gryphon spent most of antiquity sitting on a pile of gold and daring anyone to come and take some. Amazing Builder Gryphon is an attempt at exactly that.
The hoard belongs to SpinPlay Games, and it’s protected by a 96% RTP at medium-high volatility. There are 20 paylines across a 5×3 grid.
Hit frequency sits at 28.75%, which works out at roughly one paying spin in every three and a half, and stakes run from 0.20 to 50.00.
A four-tier jackpot ladder runs alongside the reels: MINI, MINOR, MAJOR and MEGA.
Most of the studio’s better-known work carries the Amazing Link name, Amazing Link Riches and Amazing Link Fates among it.
More recent is Action Boost Amber Island 2, which shares this one’s taste for a jackpot ladder. The gryphon guards, you build, and the two of you have a disagreement to settle.

Base Game & Features
Five reels turn over three rows, with 20 paylines fixed across them. Treasure chests sit around the reel frame and the jackpot ladder runs down the side of it, lit up from the first spin.
The Gryphon is the wild and the top payer. Below it sits a feather, then a spread of plundered treasure, then the usual card royals.
Payouts are given here as multiples of your total stake.
- Gryphon (wild): 1x for three, 2x for four, 10x for five
- Feather: 0.5x for three, 1x for four, 5x for five
- Cup and Ring: 0.2x for three, 0.5x for four, 2.5x for five
- Sword and Necklace: 0.2x for three, 0.5x for four, 2x for five
- 9 through A: 0.1x for three, 0.3x for four, 1x for five

Three Bonus symbols share the reels, one green, one red and one purple. Landing one or more of them gives a chance of triggering the Amazing Builder feature, and the colours that land decide what that round looks like.
Gold Coin symbols work separately. They’re collected at the end of each base game spin, and collecting them can randomly set off the Pick feature.
The Pick Feature
The Pick feature asks you to match three icons to win the jackpot they show. If one of the three matching MAJOR, MINOR or MINI icons carries a 2x, 3x or 5x, the prize is multiplied by that amount.
It can only trigger after a base game spin that hasn’t already produced an Amazing Builder feature, so the two never overlap.
Amazing Builder Gryphon Free Spins
Amazing Builder awards eight spins. Line pays are switched off for the duration, so nothing the reels normally pay counts here. Everything the round is worth comes from frames.
Amazing Builder symbols either add a purple frame to the position they land on, or upgrade the frame already there. Purple becomes red, red becomes gold. Once a frame is placed, it’s sticky and held for the rest of the round.
A Builder symbol landing on a position that’s already gold gets moved at random to a position without one, so none of them go to waste. Each Extra Spin Symbol adds one more spin to the count.
The round ends when the spins run out, or when every position has turned gold. Each frame then reveals what it’s been holding: a cash prize, or the MINI, MINOR or MAJOR jackpot.

Ignite Builder, Double Builder and Multi-Builder
Which Bonus symbols trigger the round decides what runs alongside it, and the combination that lands can activate more than one at a time.
- Ignite Builder (green Bonus symbol): a random number of Amazing Builder symbols are added to the reels, each one adding a purple frame or upgrading the frame already in place.
- Double Builder (purple Bonus symbol): every reel grows to six symbol positions for the round.
- Multi-Builder (red Bonus symbol): Multi-Builder symbols join the reels, each awarding up to three Amazing Builder symbols on a single position.
There is no bonus buy. The only shortcut on the panel is a hold-for-autoplay control, so the Bonus symbols have to turn up on their own.
Our Honest Verdict
Overall Rating: 7.2/10
The base game is quiet work. Fixed lines, a paytable topping out at 10x for five Gryphons, and a jackpot ladder you can look at but not touch until the Gold Coins say otherwise.
Everything worth having is in the Amazing Builder round, and switching line pays off for eight spins is a stark way of saying so. The frames carry all of it. Purple is nothing much, gold is where the jackpots live, and the distance between the two is the whole game.
Red is the colour to hope for, because three Builder symbols dropped on one position is exactly the number of steps from bare to gold. Green spreads frames wider; purple just gives you more wall to cover.
This suits players who like a collect-and-upgrade round with jackpots waiting at the end of it. Anyone after a big multiplier off the reels themselves is in the wrong hoard.
