Ammit Slot Review
A jackal-headed beast in a gold-plated headdress stands guard beside the reels, carved into a ribbed stone pillar while bronze cobras coil from the corners of a sandstone temple frame. This is Ammit, the devourer of the dead, and Wishbone’s shrine to her runs dark gold on sepia. The statue isn’t just watching, though: this is a game where the base game never idles, because every win she’s part of feeds meters that decide how the next bonus pays, and they only partly reset when it lands.
It’s a 5×3 grid with 20 fixed paylines, running at 96.02% RTP with high volatility, a 27.83% hit frequency and a win cap of 5250x the bet. Wishbone has kept busy in this corner of Egyptian mythology, with Ammit Hellfire, Ammit Underworld and Ammit Arctic Freeze Power Combo already carrying the name. Coins, pyramids and a respin bonus carry this one.
Base Game & Features
Wins pay left to right from the first reel, on adjacent positions across the 20 fixed paylines. A payline is a pattern of adjacent symbol positions running across the reels, and the count played can’t be changed. If several winning combinations land on a single payline, only the highest pays, and the total payout is the sum of every line win from the spin. A line win and a bonus can land together, and both pay.
Bets run from 0.20 to 20.00 per spin. Under the hood, that total is built from an initial bet multiplied by 20, one part per payline, and every paytable figure scales from the total rather than the line stake. The values below hold at any stake.
The Snake symbol is wild, substituting for everything except the Coin and the Pyramid, and it can form its own winning line as the joint-richest payer on the grid. It won’t stand in for the two symbols that matter most, so no wild can help you scrape together the six needed to start the bonus.
All symbol values below are multiples of the total bet:
- Snake (Wild): 2x for three, 4x for four, 10x for five
- Ankh: 1x for three, 2x for four, 5x for five
- Cat: 0.5x for three, 1x for four, 4x for five
- Ammit mask: 0.5x for three, 1x for four, 4x for five
- A, K, Q, J, 10: 0.2x for three, 0.5x for four, 2x for five
That’s a flat paytable, and line wins alone aren’t where this game’s money lives. The Coin values, the prize ladder and the bonus meters do the heavy lifting instead. Reading the reels is really about tracking those three, not the five-of-a-kind that isn’t coming.
Pyramid Prize
A Pyramid can land randomly on any spin, in the base game or the bonus, and more than one can arrive in a single spin. Each one reveals one of four prizes when the round ends:
- Mini: 10x the bet
- Minor: 50x the bet
- Major: 200x the bet
- Grand: 5000x the bet
The ladder steps steeply. The jump from Major to Grand is twenty-five times the size of the jump from Minor to Major, so a revealed Pyramid is a coin flip between a modest top-up and something that reshapes the round.
Coins and the Ammit Symbol
Coin symbols carry values between 0.20x and 50x the bet, and they’re the raw material of the bonus round. Land six Coins, Pyramids or a mix of the two in view and the bonus begins. Between bonuses, the Ammit symbol is the one to watch: every winning combination she’s part of feeds the two meters that decide how the next bonus pays.
Ammit pays as a symbol too, at the same tier as the Cat, so chasing the meters doesn’t mean giving up line wins while you build. The two jobs reinforce each other, which is a rarer thing in meter-based games than it should be.
Ammit Bonus Features
The Respin Bonus
Six Coins or Pyramids in view starts a hold-and-respin round. Everything that triggered it locks where it landed, and the remaining positions spin again. You get three chances to land more Coins or Pyramids.
Any new symbol locks too, and the respin count resets to three whenever at least one Coin or Pyramid lands in a spin. That’s the whole tension of the round: a single symbol buys three more spins, and the bonus only dies on a stretch of three empty ones in a row.
Each symbol that locks during a respin lights one position on a trail. Fill every position and the Grand prize pays out on the spot, on top of everything else. At the end of the round, all Coins are collected and multiplied by the Bonus Multiplier, then any Pyramids are revealed one by one for their prizes. Pyramid values don’t count towards the Bonus Guarantee, the game’s minimum-win floor for the feature.
The payouts land in two accounts, in order. First the Coins, multiplied up by whatever the Bonus Multiplier has reached. Then the Pyramids, each flipping over one of the four prizes at random. The trail’s Grand, if you lit it, pays separately again, so a full round can stack all three layers of value into one total.
Bonus Multiplier and Bonus Guarantee
Two meters sit on screen throughout, and both only grow in the base game. Every Ammit win raises the Bonus Multiplier by 0.5x and the minimum Bonus Guarantee by 10x. The multiplier tops out at 10x and the guarantee at 200x.
The guarantee is exactly what it sounds like: the smallest payout the bonus can end on. It’s the floor the Coins and the multiplier work above, and it climbs while you wait for the trigger to land.
After a bonus completes, both meters drop back rather than to zero: the multiplier to somewhere between 1.5x and 10x, the guarantee to somewhere between 30x and 200x. A completed bonus doesn’t wipe the slate, so the build starts again from wherever the reset leaves it.
There’s a hard ceiling on the whole feature. If a bonus round’s total reaches 5250x the bet, the round ends immediately, the win is paid and any remaining respins are forfeited. Winnings collect automatically at the end, and both the bet and the lines played stay as they were on the triggering spin.
Our Honest Verdict
Overall Rating: 7.7/10
Playing Ammit is a long build towards one number, and that’s precisely the appeal. You spin, the devourer’s wins feed the meters, and the floor under the next bonus creeps up while you wait for six symbols to arrive. Few respin games give the base game that much to say for itself.
The partial reset is the best idea in it: a completed bonus doesn’t wipe your progress, so patience genuinely compounds. The cap is the letdown. 5250x is a cramped ceiling for a high-volatility game whose Grand alone is 5000x, and lighting the whole trail to reach it is a long, long ask.
It’s for players who enjoy watching a system accumulate and don’t need a single life-changing spin; anyone chasing a five-figure multiple will find the ceiling closes on them early. For the patient, though, the shrine keeps paying tribute, and the statue keeps her promise.
