Beasts Of Fire Inferno

Beasts of Fire Inferno Slot Review

Buffalo-themed slots have occupied a permanent corner of the online market for years, but Play’n GO have taken a different approach with Beasts of Fire Inferno. Rather than offering a single grid expansion or a standalone coin-collect mechanic, this release stacks both: a growing reel layout that opens up during Fire Free Spins, and a Hold N’ Load feature that progressively unlocks additional rows as Bonus Inferno Coins accumulate. It’s a design that gives each bonus mode its own distinct texture, and the fire-and-wildlife theme holds the whole thing together without overwhelming the reels.

High volatility and a five-figure maximum win place this firmly in the high-stakes camp. The 96.2% RTP headline figure is worth noting with an asterisk: operators can configure the game at significantly lower settings, so the version you encounter may differ. Fans of Buffalo King Megaways or anyone drawn to expanding payway structures will find Beasts of Fire Inferno familiar in spirit, though its layered feature set puts it a step beyond the standard fare.

Base Game & Features

The base game runs on a 5×4 grid with 1,024 ways to win, using an all-ways pay structure rather than fixed paylines. Symbols need to land from left to right on adjacent reels to form wins. The symbol set leans into the fire-and-wilderness theme: animal symbols make up the higher-paying tier, with lower-value royals completing the set. The animal symbols look detailed, and the flames that frame the reels become visibly more intense whenever the special features activate.

The Wild symbol substitutes for all standard pay symbols, excluding the Fire Ball scatter, the Buffalo Relic, and the Bonus Inferno Coin. Wilds land on all reels and contribute to wins in the usual fashion without any additional multiplier in the base game.

Inferno Storm

The Inferno Storm activates whenever the Buffalo Relic symbol lands on reel three. In the base game, it generates three to 20 Fire Frames that appear randomly across the reels, transforming the symbols they contain into one of the game’s beast symbols. The outcome depends heavily on which symbols end up inside the frames, which gives the feature a variable quality. A cluster of frames landing on Buffalo or Bear symbols produces a notably stronger result than the same number framing lower-value royals.

Inferno Core and Bonus Inferno Coins

The Inferno Core collects Bonus Inferno Coin symbols each time they land on the reels. Coins carry multiplier values: Reward Boost coins award multipliers of 1x through 5x, while Power Boost coins carry higher fixed values – MINI (10x), MINOR (25x), MAJOR (250x), and GRAND (1,000x). Mystery Boost coins conceal a Reward Boost or Power Boost that’s revealed when claimed. All values are applied as multiples of the total bet. Accumulating enough coins during base play can randomly trigger the Hold N’ Load feature.

The audio deserves a mention in this context: heavy ambient effects and animal sounds build in intensity during feature activations, then recede during quieter spins. It’s a subtle touch that reinforces the gameplay rhythm without demanding attention when nothing significant is happening.

Beasts of Fire Inferno Bonus Features

Fire Free Spins

Landing three Fire Ball scatter symbols on reels two, three, and four triggers the Fire Free Spins bonus, awarding eight initial free spins. The grid immediately expands from four rows to five, pushing the payways from 1,024 to 3,125 ways to win. Buffalo symbols also transform into Fire Beasts, which occupy the higher end of the pay table. The larger grid makes this shift immediately visible: the reels feel fuller and winning combinations have more room to form.

Each additional Fire Ball scatter landing during the bonus adds a single extra spin, extending the feature up to a maximum of 47 free spins. The Inferno Storm is also active during Fire Free Spins, but with a meaningful modification: rather than randomly scattered frames, Fire Frames that appear during free spins stick in place for the remainder of the bonus. At the end of the feature, all remaining Fire Frames transform simultaneously into beast symbols, which means their value compounds as more frames accumulate. A run where Inferno Storm triggers twice – each time landing frames on premium symbols – delivers a visibly stronger payout at resolution.

Hold N’ Load

The Hold N’ Load feature triggers randomly from the base game when a Bonus Inferno Coin is collected. The feature starts with three re-spins, and only Bonus Inferno Coins can land on the reels during this mode. Any new coin that lands sticks to its position and resets the re-spin counter back to three. The feature ends when all re-spins are exhausted.

What distinguishes Hold N’ Load is the locked-row system. The feature begins with four active rows, but four additional rows are locked and waiting:

• Row five unlocks after collecting three Bonus Inferno Coins
• Row six unlocks after collecting ten Bonus Inferno Coins
• Row seven unlocks after collecting 15 Bonus Inferno Coins
• Row eight unlocks after collecting 20 Bonus Inferno Coins

Each unlocked row adds more symbol positions to the active area. Landing a GRAND Power Boost, or filling all 40 symbol positions, guarantees a GRAND award. Three to five 2x Multiplier positions can also appear and stick during the feature, doubling any coin value that lands on that position. A MINOR Power Boost normally carries a 25x value; landing one on a sticky 2x position doubles it to 50x.

The locked rows give the feature clear, readable goals. There’s genuine tension in watching the coin count tick upward toward the next unlock threshold – especially when the re-spin counter dips close to zero before a new coin lands and resets it. This progression mechanic makes each Hold N’ Load session feel purposeful rather than arbitrary.

There’s no Bonus Buy option in Beasts of Fire Inferno. All features must trigger naturally, which means more patience is required between bonus visits. For players comfortable with that, the absence of a purchase mechanic makes the natural trigger feel more earned.

Our Honest Verdict

Overall Rating: 6.8/10

Play’n GO release games at high volume, and Beasts of Fire Inferno arrives as part of that cadence rather than as a landmark title. The critical read from those who’ve assessed it pre-release – that it leans on familiar templates from the Inferno series rather than staking out new ground – isn’t entirely wrong. The Buffalo theme, the payways structure, and the Hold N’ Load coin-collect all draw from well-established conventions.

That said, the feature architecture connects more coherently than the sum of its borrowed parts suggests. The base game moves at a reasonable pace: the 1-in-2.93 hit frequency delivers enough small wins to keep sessions from stalling, while the Inferno Storm provides periodic interruption through the Buffalo Relic. Hold N’ Load produced the strongest return in testing – the row-unlock progression, the sticky 2x positions, and the way a teetering re-spin count can flip into an unlocked row creates genuine tension. Fire Free Spins is the visually superior mode: the grid expansion to 3,125 ways is immediately noticeable, and sticky Fire Frames that resolve together at the feature’s end generate real anticipation when they’ve landed on premium symbols.

The 96.2% RTP is the ceiling – operators can run it as low as 84.2%, so the version players actually encounter may differ significantly. The 50,000x maximum win is an impressive headline with an official probability below one in a billion; it’s a theoretical figure rather than an achievable target for most sessions. Comparing notes with Buffalo King Megaways on the payways side, and Fire in the Hole 2 on the expanding Hold N’ Load grid, Beasts of Fire Inferno sits somewhere between both: more layered than a traditional Buffalo entry, less mechanically complex than Nolimit City’s more intense offerings.

It’s best suited to players who enjoy high volatility, expanding grids, and coin-collect features, and who don’t mind waiting for natural bonus triggers. Anyone expecting constant feature access or genuinely novel mechanics will find the familiarity limiting. Those prepared to engage on its own terms – particularly with Hold N’ Load’s row progression – will find enough to come back to. The expanding grids and Fire Frame transformations create good bonus progression, but the huge maximum win stays firmly theoretical.
