Big Bass Halloween 2 Slot Review
Armed with a Chainsaw, our favourite Fisherman is back in Reel Kingdom’s latest ‘Big Bass’ release, Big Bass Halloween 2!
There’s no telling where the Big Bass will end as Reel Kingdom reinforces a sequel to Big Bass Halloween, a first of its kind for the series. Switching out his dark cloak and hook for a chainsaw and overalls, Big Bass Halloween 2 presents our beloved Fisherman in a terrifying light, looking a little green around the gills.
Each new Big Bass release we stumble upon recycles the same repetitive gameplay, but can we expect to see new changes aside from the Halloween makeover? Let’s play on and find out!
Base Game & Features
Nurturing 5 reels and 3 rows, Big Bass Halloween 2 is a highly volatile slot with 10 fixed pay lines. Players have the option of multiple bet sizes between £.€0.10 per spin and £.€250 per spin.
Matching 2-5 symbols from the leftmost reel awards wins between 0.2x and 200x your bet. Wild Fisherman symbols appear only in Free Spins, substituting for all paytable symbols.
Big Bass Halloween 2 has a theoretical RTP of 96.71% and a max win cap of 5,000x your bet. Alternative RTP options include 95.67% and 94.6%. Lastly, Autoplay and Turbo Mode are available to players outside the UK.
Money Symbols
Special Fish symbols appear on the reels with a value between 2x and 5,000x your bet. Fish values cannot be claimed in the base game, however, they award a win when 3 or more land from the leftmost reel.
Scatter Feature
Whenever 2 Scatters land in the base game, minus a 3rd, there is a chance for another to be brought into view by one of the following functions:
- Respin: Scatters can move down one position without leaving the reel area, triggering a Respin.
- Hook: Pulls one of the reels up to reveal a 3rd Scatter
Bonus Buy
Players outside the UK can grab a slice of the Free Spins action by purchasing the Bonus Buy option for 100x their bet. Upon entry, the reels will randomly award 3, 4, or 5 Scatters.
Free Spins
Landing 3, 4, or 5 Scatters in the base game triggers Free Spins, awarding 10, 15, and 20 Free Spins respectively. Before the round begins, 0-5 Modifiers can be selected randomly, similar to Big Bass Splash. The modifiers available are as follows:
- More Fish: Awards additional Fish symbols on the reels
- More Fisherman: Awards additional Fisherman Wilds on the reels
- More Dynamites, Hooks, & Chainsaws: The chance to hit dynamite, hook, and chainsaw features is increased
- Level 2: The round begins with the Progress Trail on Level 2
- Extra Spins: The round starts with +2 Free Spins and a further +2 Free Spins for each retrigger
During Free Spins, each Fisherman Wild is collected into a special Progress Trail above the main reel set.
For every 4th Fisherman Wild collected, an additional +10 Free Spins and a Multiplier of x2, x3, and x10 (per respective retrigger) are awarded. The Multiplier is applied to all Money symbols upon collection. After Level 4, the round cannot be retriggered further.
In addition, a series of functions may randomly take effect which triggers the following:
- Fisherman Wilds with no Fish Symbols: Causes fish symbols to be placed in random positions via a Dynamite Feature
- Fish Symbols with no Fisherman Wilds: A hook animation pulls up a random reel to reveal a Fisherman Wild
- Fisherman Wilds with no Fish Symbols: A Chainsaw animation switches all symbols in view to something else

Our Verdict
Holiday seasons are the perfect opportunity for Providers to expand their current game portfolio. Pragmatic Play affiliate, Reel Kingdom, has chosen to use Halloween as an opportunity to release a sequel to one of their many Big Bass titles.
Big Bass Halloween was the first of the series to implement a horrifying theme, giving some of the very best slasher movies a run for their money. In Big Bass Halloween 2, our beloved Fisherman, dressed in overalls and carrying a chainsaw, has been possessed.
Though a little intimidating, his appearance is not as terrifying as we’d hoped, giving the impression of severe seasickness rather than terror. Even under the influence of possession, he still manages to fix a grin.
Big Bass Halloween 2 looks to be cosmetically different, yet very few changes, if any, have been made to gameplay. The base game facilitates a 2-Scatter Feature, where Hooks and Respins can reveal a 3rd Scatter and the Free Spins round utilises the same Progress Trail and Multiplier values.
The one interesting aspect of Free Spins is the upgradeable modifiers which are picked out at the start of the round. This function first came to light in Big Bass Splash, making it a one-of-a-kind of the series. However, Reel Kingdom has failed to expand upon the pre-existing modifiers in a way that makes them bigger and better than before.
In light of this latest edition, we remain optimistic that Reel Kingdom will eventually produce a Big Bass title with many positive enhancements. Where will Reel Kingdom take the series next we wonder? All in good time.
