Bohemian Bazaar Slot Review
Bunting strung between warm terracotta walls, candles flickering on a cluttered market stall, striped awnings stacked with woven cloth over a cobbled plaza. Bohemian Bazaar spends its money where you can see it: every penny of effort has gone onto the paint, and almost none into the machinery underneath. That’s a defensible way to build a slot, but only if you know that’s what you’re picking up.
Five reels by four, 243 ways to win, and one bonus round carrying the whole variety budget. High 5 Games have built something handsome here, running at 96% RTP. The question is whether the free games round does enough to earn the picture frame around it.
How the Market Pays
Wins land on 243 ways across a 5×4 grid, so any matching symbols on consecutive reels from the left count, wherever they sit. There’s no line selection to worry about. Every spin plays the full board.
With four rows on each of the five reels, a full house runs to twenty symbols on screen at once, and the ways count doesn’t change from spin to spin. That fixed structure is worth keeping in mind when you read the paytable, because the character symbols need only three reels from the left to pay, and they pay the same wherever they land on those reels.
Four character symbols lead the paytable, with the royals filling out the lower rungs. The values for three, four and five of a kind, in credits shown without any bet modifiers:
- Woman (dark-haired): 30 for three, 150 for four, 800 for five
- Man (dark-haired): 20 for three, 80 for four, 300 for five
- Woman (headscarf): 15 for three, 60 for four, 200 for five
- Man (purple): 15 for three, 60 for four, 200 for five
- A: 5 for three, 15 for four, 50 for five
- K: 5 for three, 15 for four, 50 for five
- Q: 5 for three, 15 for four, 50 for five
The gap between the tiers is steep. Five of the dark-haired woman is worth sixteen times five of any royal, so the character symbols are where a genuinely big base win comes from. The royals turn up the small change that keeps the board ticking between them.
There’s a second tier of characters beneath the top pair, and both of them pay identically. The headscarf woman and the purple-clad man are effectively one symbol split into two designs, worth 200 for five. That leaves four distinct pay levels in total across the whole table, which is a compact ladder even by the standards of a ways-to-win game.
The jeweled card Wild substitutes for every symbol except the Free Games scatter, and it only appears on reels two, three and four. That’s the same territory the scatter occupies, which keeps the middle of the board busy and the outer reels plain. Because the wild can’t build wins on its own from reel one, it works as a connector: a pair of character symbols on the first two reels with a wild on the third is a three-of-a-kind.
The Free Games Bonus
The Scatter
There are two symbols worth watching on the middle reels, and the chest icon labelled Free Games is the one that matters most. It’s a scatter, so it doesn’t need to sit on consecutive reels or start from the left. One on each of reels two, three and four is enough, in any position on those reels, and because each of those reels shows four symbols, there are several combinations of rows that will do it.
- Three Free Games scatters, anywhere on reels two, three and four, start the bonus
- The trigger awards 15 free games
- The bonus runs on its own set of reels, different from the base game
- Free games play automatically at the same ways and the same bet multiplier as the triggering spin
The automatic play is worth spelling out. There’s nothing to configure once the round begins, no choice of volatility or starting spins, and the bet that opened the bonus is the bet the whole round runs on. The number of ways doesn’t change either: 243 going in, 243 throughout.
What does change is the reels themselves. The bonus round draws from a different set to the base game, which is a common arrangement but not a guaranteed one, and it means the symbol mix during the free games isn’t simply a copy of a regular spin. The wild is still in play during the round, still confined to the middle reels, and still substituting for everything except the scatter that retriggers it.
Retriggers
Landing the same three-middle-reels scatter combination again during the round awards five additional free games on top of whatever remains. The scatter obeys the same restriction as in the base game, so the retrigger window is narrow but real, and there’s no stated limit on how often it can land. A round that retriggers twice has grown from 15 games to 25 before it’s done.
That’s the full feature list. A wild, a scatter, and one free games round with a retrigger. There’s no bonus buy, no second mode, no modifier stacking between the two halves of the game.
Our Honest Verdict
Overall Rating: 6.9/10
This is a game you play for the street, not the stall. Time on Bohemian Bazaar is a slow wander past painted awnings and candlelight, with the reels ticking over quietly and one free games round as the destination, and honestly the scenery makes the walk pleasant.
The strength is that it never confuses you. A wild, a scatter, 15 free games, a retrigger: you understand the whole thing inside a minute, and the 96% RTP means the deal isn’t stingy. The weakness is that nothing builds. There’s no multiplier to climb and no second feature waiting, so once the bonus round has been and gone you’ve seen everything the game has to offer.
It’s a good fit for players who like a beautiful, unfussy spin where the artwork carries the evening and one clean bonus is plenty. Chasers of layered mechanics will run out of things to do early, and that’s fine. The bazaar stays open for the rest of us, and it’s a nice place to linger.
