Cash Explorer Slot Review
Join mighty explorers as they venture into the depths of an ancient tomb in Red Tiger’s latest release, Cash Explorer!
Armed with a mysterious pendant, 2 brave explorers hunt for lost treasures worth up to 50x your bet, with the chance to boost wins by x3 thanks to an additional Multiplier function.
If there’s one provider that has nailed the Explorer theme, it’s Play’n GO and their extensive collection of Cat Wilde and Rich Wilde slots. We love an adventure as much as the next player, but will Cash Explorer be a once-in-a-lifetime experience? Let’s play on and find out!
Base Game & Features
Cash Explorer is a 5-reel, 3-row Video Slot with 20 pay lines and varying bet sizes between £0.10 and £6 per spin. This medium volatility slot includes an overall RTP of 95.74% and a generous max win cap of 14,597x your bet.
Winning combinations of 3 or more matching symbols are calculated from the leftmost and rightmost reels, including the 3 middle reels. Depending on the symbol type, payouts between 0.1x and 250x your bet are awarded. Wilds substitute for all symbols, awarding 250x your bet for 5-of-a-kind.
Hidden Treasures
In the base game, 1 or more Treasure Icons can be hidden beneath certain tile positions. Hidden treasures are revealed when 1 or more winning combinations go through their positions. There are 3 types of Hidden Treasure Icons – these include:
- Purple: Reveals 1x or 2x your bet
- Pink: Reveals 5x or 10x your bet
- Green: Reveals 50x your bet
Explorer Symbols
In addition to regular symbols, the reels can deliver up to 2 Explorer symbols with the following outcomes:
- Discoverer: Reveals hidden treasures beneath tile positions, regardless of whether wins run through them or not.
- Girl Explorer: Generates a multiplier of x3 which applies to all wins and hidden treasures.
Bonus Buy
- Discoverer: Guarantees a Discoverer symbol with at least 1 hidden treasure in a single spin (3x your bet)
- Free Spins: Guarantees entry into Free Spins (60x your bet)
Free Spins
Landing 3 Scatters on reels 2, 3, and 4 in the base game triggers the Free Spins round, awarding 10 Free Spins.
During this round, 1 Discoverer symbol is present on the middle position of reel 3 throughout each spin. Hidden treasures are unable to hide beneath that position. Landing 3 Scatter symbols awards an additional +10 Free Spins.
Our Verdict
First impressions are everything in a new release, and Cash Explorer doesn’t give much away from a design point of view. Given the theme, it’s obvious we’re in for quite an adventure, but is the risk worth the reward?
Cash Explorer has subtle features, which include 2 explorer symbols, one revealing Hidden Treasures and the other activating a x3 Multiplier. Through the multiple win ways, Hidden Treasure Icons are revealed frequently, yet they require a Discoverer symbol to reward prizes between 1x and 50x your bet.
Hidden treasure prizes leave little to be desired, however, combining them with a x3 Multiplier is a much more appealing concept – that’s if you can land the two explorer symbols in the same spin. Given the games’ max win potential of 14,597x, it’s hard to comprehend how such a figure is achievable, especially given the limitations in multiplier and hidden treasure values.
In Free Spins, 1 Discoverer symbol is always present in the middle row of reel 3. This guarantees all hidden treasures and their values are awarded throughout the round. Cash Explorer takes a little getting used to, and will largely appeal to players who appreciate subtle features and mechanics.
*Cash Explorer is available to play across Top Slot Sites from the 16th January 2025.
