Cash Fortress Slot Review
A vault door stands over reels of pineapples, cherries and BARs, and that pairing is the honest self-assessment. Cash Fortress treats its own fruit paytable as a formality: nearly everything the game pays out with any conviction comes from Coins, and the reels in between are mostly there to hand you a key.
It’s a Playtech build on a 5×3 grid with 20 paylines, every spin played at maximum lines, and it sits alongside Buffalo Blitz 2, Hot Gems Xtreme and Stallion Strike in the studio’s line-up. No RTP figure is published for Cash Fortress, which tells you where its priorities sit: in the vault, not on the paylines.
Base Game & Features
Standard play runs on five reels and three rows, with 20 fixed lines. You don’t choose your line count; every game plays all 20, so wins land wherever they land and the stake is always the full spread.
The Wild substitutes for everything except Scatter and Coin symbols, and any Wild that forms part of a line win expands vertically, transforming the entire reel into Wilds. That’s the only base-game dressing the fruit gets, and it’s a useful one: an expanded Wild across the middle rows can connect several lines at once.
Beyond that, this is a classic fruit-machine line-up, with ten pay tiers spread from the BAR down to Cherries and Grapes. The values below are multiples of stake for five, four and three of a kind:

The ladder narrows the further down you read: three tiers share the same three-of-a-kind value, and the bottom rung pays a fraction of the top one at every match length. Only the BAR tier reaches double figures at five of a kind.
Free Games run on their own paytable, and it isn’t the same ladder. The 7 is the top symbol there, the Diamond slots in beneath it, and the fruit slides down a tier:

Free Games
Three or more Scatter symbols in any position award six Free Games. Each free spin brings a Mega reel: one of the reel groups (1-2-3, 2-3-4 or 3-4-5) is covered by a single giant symbol, evaluated as if all nine positions in that group showed it.
That giant symbol does the work of nine. A Mega reel of BARs across reels 2-4, for instance, puts the top-paying symbol into every line that crosses that group, which is why the Free Games paytable is rebalanced: the 7 and the Diamond only exist there, and the fruit pays less to compensate.
Scatters and Coins can’t land on the normal reels during Free Games. They can land on the Mega reel, and when they do, they matter: a Scatter there adds three more free games, and a Coin there triggers the Cash Fortress Feature outright.
Cash Fortress Feature
Six or more Coin symbols anywhere in the base game, or a single Mega Coin during Free Games, starts the feature. It’s a hold-and-respin round. The triggering Coins lock in place and you get three respins, with every unheld position spinning independently. Land a new Coin and it locks too, resetting the respin count to three.
The round runs until three consecutive respins pass without a new Coin, or until the grid is full. Filling every position pays the GRAND. When the round ends, every Coin prize on the grid is paid, so a full grid collects the lot.
Each Coin carries a prize, as multiples of total bet:
- Coin prizes: 0.5x, 1x, 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x, 10x, 15x, 50x
- MINI: 20x total bet
- MINOR: 100x total bet
- MAJOR: 500x total bet
- GRAND: 2,000x total bet, for a fully covered grid
The ladder is broad rather than tall at the bottom. Nine distinct Coin values run from 0.5x to 50x, so a grid that stalls early can still return a decent sum from ordinary Coins alone, while the named prizes: MINI, MINOR and MAJOR, sit at 20x, 100x and 500x, waiting for a lucky drop.
Vault Feature
Any Coin landing in the base game gives the Vault a chance to open. It doesn’t need six of them; one is enough. When the door swings, a reel spins inside and stops on one of four outcomes: the GRAND, or a Double, Triple or Quad Cash Fortress Feature.
There’s a wrinkle in the ordering. If six or more Coins triggered the Vault and the GRAND comes up, the Cash Fortress Feature plays out first with those triggering coins before the GRAND is paid. If a multiplier feature comes up instead, the standard round doesn’t happen at all; you get the bigger version.
The Vault is also the game’s only path to the GRAND outside a full grid. It can open on a spin that would otherwise be a single low-value Coin, which is why even isolated Coins in the base game carry a tension the line pays don’t.
Double, Triple and Quad Cash Fortress
These are the same respin round played across independent grids: two 3×5 arrays for the Double, three for the Triple, four for the Quad. Each array holds its own triggering Coins and runs the same mechanics and prize values, and everything pays out once respins finish on all of them.
Four grids running at once is where the format earns its name. A Quad with Coins landing on all four arrays pays four times over, and the GRAND is live on every one of them, which makes the full-coverage payout the biggest number in the game.

Our Honest Verdict
Overall Rating: 7.1/10
This is a waiting game, and it doesn’t hide it. Most spins are fruit doing very little while you watch for a single Coin that might swing the vault door open. That door is the reason to sit down here: one low-value Coin can become four grids of respins, and every Coin you’ve locked can build into something far bigger than the reels ever offered on their own.
The best thing here is the Vault’s leverage, because it makes even the smallest Coin land with real weight. The worst is the fruit: a 10x ceiling on the top line pay and 0.2x at the bottom means the reels between features are decoration, not income.
If you enjoy the slow, deliberate build of a respin grid and don’t mind quiet spells, this is a rewarding one. If you want the reels themselves to pay, the fruit behind the vault door won’t cover it. This one’s for the coin collectors, and the door opens often enough to keep them at it.
