Cash Spree Pegasus II Slot Review
A marble temple rises dead centre behind the reels, its steps dissolving into mist, with a huge translucent wing ghosted across the clouds above it and a golden urn burning on the cloudbank to the left. It’s a handsome place to be kept waiting, and Cash Spree Pegasus II keeps you waiting in it.
There isn’t really a base game here in the usual sense. It has a lobby with reels attached: every spin either feeds one of three meters or it doesn’t, and the paytable that would normally carry the session tops out at 8x for five of the best symbol.
Cash Spree Pegasus II runs a 5×4 grid with 720 ways, pays at 96.20% RTP including through the Bonus Buy, and sits at the high end of volatility, with a hit frequency of 33.32%. Stakes run from 0.20 to 50.00.
Oros Gaming‘s other reviewed title here is Magnificent Link Flamecrest Phoenix, which shares the taste for collection mechanics and jackpot ladders. Pegasus II is the more contained of the two.
Base Game & Features
A way is one position on each reel, paying left to right on adjacent reels starting from reel 1. If several winning combinations land on a single way, only the highest pays. Only the highest combination counts per symbol, too.
Wilds land on reels 2, 3 and 4 only. They substitute for the high and low paying symbols, never for Cash Spree or Free Spins symbols, and they carry no payout of their own.
Pays below are multiples of the stake for three, four and five of a kind. The initial bet behind each spin is the total stake divided by a way cost of 10, which is how the 720 ways are priced:
- Red Pegasus Gem: 2x, 4x, 8x
- Pink Gem: 1.4x, 3x, 4x
- Green Gem: 1x, 2x, 3x
- Blue Gem: 0.2x, 0.8x, 1.2x
- A, K: 0.2x, 0.8x, 1x
- Q: 0.2x, 0.6x, 1x
- J, 10, 9: 0.2x, 0.6x, 0.8x
- White/Teal Gem: 0.4x for three, 1x for four
The top of the table is modest. Five Red Pegasus Gems returns 8x the stake, and everything below that falls away quickly. The way wins aren’t where this game’s money lives.
Cash Spree Symbols
Cash Spree symbols are the engine. Land them starting on reels 1 and 2 and they pay left to right on adjacent reels. Each carries either a cash value or one of four jackpots: Grand, Mega, Major or Minor.
Cash values appear on all five reels, worth 0.5x to 9x the bet, with the bigger values concentrated on reels 4 and 5. The jackpots appear on reels 4 and 5 only, and only one Grand can land per reel. The reels shifting to a purple bonus backdrop is the tell that the feature has fired.
The jackpot tiers sit on top of that ladder, ordered from Grand down to Minor, and every Cash Spree win on a spin is summed with the way wins into a single payout. The collection animation that follows is purely visual; it doesn’t influence what’s awarded.
That’s the whole base game: ways, wilds and Cash Spree. The Free Spins symbol is the remaining piece, and it doesn’t pay anything directly. It collects.
Cash Spree Pegasus II Free Spins & Bonus Features
Free Spins symbols appear on the middle three reels, and only outside the feature itself. One or more of them in any position may randomly award the round outright. If they don’t trigger it, they accumulate, and a triggering spin can’t upgrade the enhancers.
It’s a chance-based trigger stacked on a collection system, which means the build is never wasted. Collected symbols can also randomly upgrade one, two or all three enhancers on their way in.
The Three Enhancers
Everything you collect in the base game is paid out when the feature lands. Three meters track it:
- Spins Meter: the number of free spins awarded, up to 15. A Free Spins symbol may bump it by one. It resets to between 5 and 8 after the round.
- Cash Spree Multiplier Meter: applies to all Cash Spree wins in the feature except Grand and Mega, and never multiplies the Bonus Meter. The ceiling is 5x, and it drops back to somewhere between 1x and 3x after the round.
- Cash Spree Bonus Meter: pays its value on every free spin that lands a Cash Spree win. It caps at 20x bet and lands somewhere between 5x and 8x bet once the round is over.
The multiplier and bonus exclusions matter. The two top jackpots escape the multiplier, so a collected 5x doesn’t turn a Grand into something it isn’t. And the Bonus Meter pays on winning spins only, not every spin.
Bets and ways in the feature match the triggering spin, and wins are added to base game wins. Wins during the round also count as normal play, Cash Spree symbols and all.
Bonus Buy
The Bonus Buy skips the collection and sells you the finished meters directly. Three options, each a complete package of multiplier, spins and bonus value:
- 2x Multiplier, 5 Free Spins, 6x Cash Spree Bonus
- 3x Multiplier, 10 Free Spins, 13x Cash Spree Bonus
- 5x Multiplier, 15 Free Spins, 20x Cash Spree Bonus
Purchases are made at the prices displayed and played at the current bet. The RTP through the Bonus Buy is the same 96.20%, so buying doesn’t change the maths. It’s available in the base game only.
Our Honest Verdict
Overall Rating: 6.9/10
Playing this is an act of patience dressed up as Greek mythology. You spin, the meters creep upward, and occasionally Cash Spree symbols throw you a coin for your trouble. The one reason to choose it is that build: watching a full set of enhancers finally pay off is the entire appeal, and when a round hits with the Bonus Meter topping up every winning spin, it justifies the wait.
The best thing here is that nothing you collect is ever wasted. The enhancers reset high after every round, so even a disappointing feature leaves the next one primed. The worst thing is the trigger: it’s random on top of the collection, so full meters can sit there spin after spin with nothing you can do about it.
If you like a long build, this is a solid, well-made entry in the collection genre. Players who want frequent bonus rounds should give it a miss. It’s a good game for its type – middling for everyone else.
