Action Strike Vault Slot Review
A vault full of gemstones is only as good as the mechanism that keeps it locked, and in Action Strike Vault the lock is the interesting part. This is a game where the paytable barely matters: the line wins top out at 4x for five diamonds, and every real payout is routed through collectible cash symbols rather than matching fruit. Oros Gaming has built the whole thing on a 5×3 grid with 20 fixed paylines, 96.20% RTP and high volatility.
What makes it worth a look is how much control the collection system hands over. The symbols you gather decide what the bonus round can do, and few games give you the toolbox quite this directly. The studio’s Cash Spree Pegasus II and Magnificent Link Flamecrest Phoenix work similar collect-and-pay ground, but this one goes further.
Base Game & Features
The base game runs on five reels and three rows, with wins forming left to right across 20 fixed paylines. Every spin costs the total bet, and payline payouts are calculated against the initial bet placed. Where multiple winning combinations land on a single payline, only the highest counts.
The total payout on any spin is the sum of all payline wins plus any Epic Strike wins. Hit frequency sits at 28.42%, so roughly one spin in three returns something. With stakes from 0.20 to 50.00 per spin, it’s a betting range that covers casual spins and serious sessions alike.
Autoplay is available in the base game only, with a configurable loss limit to end the session early. Wild symbols substitute for the high and low paying symbols to complete wins, and they can form winning combinations of their own. They don’t substitute for anything in the Epic Strike family, which plays by its own rules entirely.
The paytable is thin, and it’s worth seeing in full before committing anything to the reels:
- Diamond: five of a kind pays 4x the stake
- Phone/Dollar Case: three pays 0.8x, four pays 1.2x, five pays 2.4x
- Watermelon: three pays 0.6x, four pays 1x, five pays 2x
- Strawberry: three pays 0.4x, four pays 1x, five pays 1.6x
- A: three pays 0.4x, four pays 0.8x, five pays 1.2x
- K and Q: three pays 0.4x, four pays 0.6x, five pays 1x
- J: three pays 0.2x, four pays 0.4x, five pays 0.8x
- 10: three pays 0.2x, five pays 0.6x
- Ring: three pays 1x, four pays 1.6x
The gaps tell their own story. The Diamond only pays at five of a kind, the 10 skips its four-of-a-kind tier entirely, and the Ring stops paying above four. Nothing here approaches the cash values the Epic Strike gems carry, which is where the real interest on the reels sits.
Epic Strike Symbols
Epic Strike symbols are blue gems carrying cash values of up to 120x the bet. A symbol’s value is paid when it lands on two or more consecutive reels starting from reel one, which gives the left side of the grid real importance on every spin.
A single gem on reel one pays nothing. A run of them across the opening reels pays every value in the chain.
Epic Strike Tower Pays
Five or more Epic Strike symbols anywhere on the reels bring the Tower Pays into play, paid on top of the individual symbol values. It’s the collection ladder doing the heavy lifting in the base game, and the payline table above is mostly there to keep things ticking between collections.
The collection animation itself is purely for show – it has no bearing on what’s actually awarded.
Action Strike Vault Free Spins & Upgrades
The round the game is named after triggers whenever one or more Action Strike symbols appear, with a chance of the feature firing on any such spin. Action Strike awards seven free spins, and the combination of Action Strike symbols that collected determines which upgrades you take into the round.
All triggered upgrades are active from a single base spin, the Epic Strike feature runs throughout, and free spins can’t be re-triggered.
The Five Upgrades
- Action Extra Cash Upgrade – adds Epic Strike symbols to the reels, with more possible during each spin
- Action Multiplier Upgrade – awards a random 2x, 3x or 5x multiplier every spin, applied to all wins except the top Epic Strike Tower pay, and to wins from any other upgrades running alongside it
- Action Extra Spins Upgrade – every Extra Spin symbol that lands adds one further spin
- Action Double Board Upgrade – awards a second, fully independent Action Strike reel set, with the multiplier and boost upgrades applying to both boards when combined
- Action Boost Upgrade – boosts every Epic Strike symbol each spin by a random value from 1.2x to 9x the bet
The upgrades combine rather than compete. Extra Cash keeps feeding the boards while the Multiplier lifts everything each spin produces, and the Boost fattens the very symbols the Multiplier then scales. Extra Spins stretches the window so the other four have longer to work.
Double Board is the prize of the set. Two independent reel sets play out side by side, each collecting its own Epic Strike symbols and each running its own Epic Strike feature, with the multiplier and boost applied across both.
Any spins awarded by the Extra Spins Upgrade play out on each board separately too, as do any extra Epic Strike symbols the Cash Upgrade drops in.
Action Max Trigger
Whenever one or more Action Max Trigger symbols appear, a random set of Action Strike upgrades is awarded. It’s the shortcut route into the feature, trading the collection mechanic for a lucky dip: you don’t choose what you get, but you skip straight to the upgraded round.
Our Honest Verdict
Overall Rating: 7.7/10
Playing Action Strike Vault means watching the left reels. Nearly everything of value flows through those gem cash symbols and their left-to-right chains, so a spin without an early Epic Strike landing is usually a dead one. With line wins this small, the base game asks a lot of patience between collections.
That patience is the point, though: you’re not spinning for the paytable, you’re assembling a round. A good collection into Double Board with multipliers running across both reel sets pays off properly, and it’s the best-built part of the game by some distance.
The weakness is honest enough: seven spins with no re-trigger is a short window for a system this layered, and a poor collection means the round can pass by almost before it gets going. There’s no stated ceiling to aim at either. Still, anyone who enjoys the slow build of a collect-and-upgrade slot will find the gems on that gold shelf worth the wait – it’s the fast-hit crowd who’ll find the vault a bit stiff to crack.
