Cash Spree Triton Slot Review
Fire on the left of the shoreline, a storm-dark sea on the right, and a gilded scroll-shaped reel frame between them with edges that glow like they came out of the forge minutes ago. Cash Spree Triton argues, quietly but persistently, that the right two reels matter more than the left three: nearly everything worth winning lives on reels 4 and 5, and Oros Gaming has built a game you read back to front.
It runs on a 5×3 grid with 20 fixed paylines, at 96.20% RTP and high volatility. The Cash Spree family is already well stocked, from Cash Spree Fishin’ and Cash Spree Gold to Cash Spree Pegasus II, but Triton swaps the lake and the vault for fire and salt water.
Base Game & Features
Every spin costs a total bet covering all 20 lines, and that total is what the paytable is keyed to. The initial bet behind it works out as the total divided by the payline cost of 20, which is worth knowing when you’re reading Cash Spree cash values, because those print in bet units rather than multiples.
Payline wins run left to right from the first reel. Where multiple winning combinations land on a single payline, only the highest one pays, and only the highest combination counts for each symbol. The total payout on a spin is the sum of everything: payline wins, Cash Spree symbol values, Wheel Bonus prizes and Free Spin symbol wins.
A payline is a pattern of adjacent symbol positions running in a line across the reels, and a win is awarded when matching symbols land next to each other on one of those patterns. It’s a conventional setup, with nothing unusual in the way wins connect. All of the interest sits in the symbols that don’t behave like ordinary payers.
Wild Symbols
Wilds substitute for other symbols to complete winning combinations and can form their own winning combination when landing in a payline pattern. They substitute for everything except four symbols:
- Multiplier
- Wheel Trigger
- Cash Spree
- Free Spin
Mystery Selection
A designated section of the reels picks a symbol on every spin. The Mystery Selection can turn into any symbol in the game except the Multiplier, Wheel Trigger and Free Spin symbols, which keeps it out of the bonus machinery entirely.
There’s a tell built in: the selection displays as a Mystery symbol whenever it’s about to reveal a Wild or a Cash Spree symbol. Watch for that and you’ll know when the good stuff is coming. Because the excluded symbols stay excluded, the feature can never manufacture a scatter, a wheel trigger or a multiplier on its own – it can only thicken ordinary wins and Cash Spree values.
Cash Spree Symbols
The feature that gives the game its name. Cash Spree symbols land starting on reels 1 and 2, and every one of them pays. What’s on offer:
- Grand, Mega, Major, Minor and Mini prizes, which appear only on reels 4 and 5
- Cash values, which appear on all five reels, with the higher values again sitting on reels 4 and 5
All Cash Spree symbols pay left to right on adjacent reels, and their wins are added on top of payline wins. The feature works in the base game and during Free Spins, so a bonus round can suddenly get crowded.
The layout rewards reading the right side of the grid first. Reels 4 and 5 are where the jackpots and the bigger cash values sit, so a run of symbols that starts on reels 1 and 2 and reaches the far side is worth considerably more than one that stops early. Reels 1 and 2 are only ever carrying the start of the sequence and the smaller values.
Wheel Bonus
Collecting Wheel Trigger symbols gives a chance at the Wheel Bonus, a spin of a prize wheel with five jackpots divided into wedges:
- Grand
- Mega
- Major
- Minor
- Mini
Whichever wedge sits under the pointer when the wheel stops is what you get. The collect animation around the Wheel Trigger symbol is there for show and doesn’t influence the award.
Two restrictions matter: the Wheel Bonus is a base game feature only, and it can’t trigger on a spin that also triggers Free Spins. The Wheel Trigger symbol also never appears alongside Mystery, Free Spins or Cash Spree symbols, so the wheel keeps its own corner of the game.
Cash Spree Triton Free Spins & Multiplier
Free Spins Wheel
Landing 3 Free Spin symbols scattered anywhere on the reels brings up the Free Spins Wheel. Each wedge holds a number of free spins, and the wedge under the pointer when it stops sets your total. Free Spin symbols only appear on reels 2, 3 and 4, so the scatter has a narrower runway than most.
Bets and lines during the round match the triggering spin exactly, and wins are added to base game wins. Selecting spin starts the round. The two wheels in the game – this one and the base game Wheel Bonus – are separate features with separate prize structures, and neither can reach into the other’s round.
The Free Spins Multiplier
This is the round’s engine. Every Multiplier symbol that lands pushes the Free Spins Multiplier meter up by 0.5x, to a ceiling of 10x. The meter climbs fast when the symbols cooperate, and the running total is always on screen.
One exclusion shapes the whole round: the multiplier applies to every Free Spins win except the Free Spins Wheel award and the Grand and Mega prizes. It also can’t land on the triggering spin, and it never appears on Free Spins or Mystery symbols.
When the round ends, the meter resets to somewhere between 1x and 4x. Nothing carries over at full strength, but a short round still leaves the next one starting warm.
Retriggers
Landing another 3 Free Spin symbols during the round retriggers it, with the fresh batch matching the original trigger’s spin count. Cash Spree symbols keep landing throughout, so the multiplier can be applied to those cash values as well as line wins.
Our Honest Verdict
Overall Rating: 7.1/10
This is a slot you watch as much as spin. Against that lava-and-thunder shoreline, there’s always a meter or a symbol run edging forward, and the one reason to sit down here is that visible progress: you’re never just waiting for a trigger, you’re watching something accumulate.
Its strength is the reset. A free spins round that falls flat still banks the multiplier’s momentum, so the next one starts halfway up rather than from scratch – failures cost less here than in most collection games. The weakness is where the multiplier refuses to go: past the two prizes you’d most want it to double.
It’s built for players who enjoy a long build and judge a slot by how the round pays when it arrives. Anyone chasing frequent bonuses or fat line wins will find the gaps between features long and the base pays lean. For the patient kind, the forge is still lit and the meter keeps half a point of promise every time it moves.
