Coco-Loco Cash Slot Review
Three carved tiki heads stand beside the reels of Coco-Loco Cash, mouths stuffed with gold coins and scattered gemstones, while the volcano behind them glows through its fissures. The gold in those mouths tells you the truth about this game faster than its paytable does: Neon Valley Studios have built a slot where the reels mostly exist to feed three collection meters running in parallel.
Beneath the paint, nearly everything on the reels feeds a token meter, and the slot is happiest when you’re chasing them. It runs on a 5×3 grid with 20 fixed paylines, medium volatility and a 96.00% RTP, and stakes run from 0.20 to 80.00 per spin.
The collecting bent puts it near the studio’s 333 Piggy POWER COMBO and Arctic Enchantress, with Genie’s Arabian Riches another close cousin. The question is whether the collecting pays.
Base Game & Features
The base game is a five-reel, three-row setup with 20 paylines that run left to right from the first reel, and the line count is fixed. Wins need matching symbols on adjacent reels along one of those lines, and only the highest combination on a line counts. Wins land on 29.28% of spins, so it ticks over regularly even when it isn’t paying much.
Wilds substitute for everything except the Token, Jackpot and Cash Collect symbols, so they never help you chase the features, only the line wins. They arrive through the Random Wilds Feature, which can fire on any spin in the base game and during Bonus Spins. It drops wilds into random positions on reels 2 to 5 before the spin resolves.
It’s a quiet mechanic with no announcement, and it can turn a dead spin into a decent one. Most of the paytable’s visible value sits in the low symbols. At the minimum 0.20 stake, the royals pay:
- K: 0.40 for three, 1.20 for four, and 2.40 for five of a kind
- Q: 0.40 for three, 1.20 for four, and 2.40 for five of a kind
- J: 0.40 for three, 1.20 for four, and 2.40 for five of a kind
That’s the long tail of the paytable, and it tells you where the money in this game actually lives: not in the line wins, but in the features the tokens build towards. The premium symbols and the feature prizes do the real work. Three separate collections run alongside every spin:
- Cash Collect Tokens build towards the Cash Collect Feature
- Bonus Spins Tokens build towards the Bonus Spins Feature
- Jackpot Pick Tokens build towards the Jackpot Pick Feature
Win Booster™
Win Booster™ is a standing bet modifier rather than a feature. Switch it on and your total stake goes up to 1.5x the bet, in exchange for a better chance of the Cash Collect and Random Wilds features triggering. It stays on until you deselect it, and it carries into Bonus Spins if it’s already running when the feature triggers.
It may not be available above a certain bet threshold. The RTP with it enabled holds at 96.00%.
Coco-Loco Cash Bonus Spins & Collect Features
Bonus Spins Feature
Bonus Spins Tokens collect in the base game for a chance to trigger the feature, which fires instantly when 3 or more land on the same spin. The round awards 8 Bonus Spins, with bets and lines identical to the triggering spin. Scatters pay in any position, and the feature can retrigger. Random Wilds run more frequently during the round, which is where much of its value comes from.
The token count on the triggering spin also pays directly, on top of the spins themselves:
- 3 tokens: triggers the feature
- 4 tokens: triggers the feature and awards 10x the bet
- 5 tokens: triggers the feature and awards 50x the bet
Cash Collect Feature
Cash Collect Tokens collect in the base game and Bonus Spins, and the feature triggers when 1 or more of them land anywhere on reels 2 to 5 alongside a Cash Collect symbol on reel 1. It starts with 5 spins and moves to a 5×5 grid where every position spins individually.
The round begins with a 2×2 active zone that moves to every position holding a Cash Collect Token, and cash prizes inside the zone are collected after each spin. Cash values run from 1x up to 2,500x the bet. Collecting more tokens expands the zone and adds spins:
- 5 tokens collected: the zone expands from 2×2 to 3×3, and 3 additional spins are awarded
- 4 more tokens: 3×3 to 4×4, and 2 additional spins
- 3 more tokens: 4×4 to the full 5×5, and 1 additional spin
Once the zone reaches 5×5, tokens stop collecting. The feature ends when all spins are used, and jackpots can be won inside this round as well as through the Jackpot Pick Feature.
Bonus Recharge™
When the Cash Collect Feature ends, Bonus Recharge™ offers the choice to buy a single additional spin at the price displayed. The Cash Collect meter and the active zone don’t reset on a purchased spin, so a large zone can be carried forward for another attempt. Each spin is bought individually at the current bet.
The option may be limited or unavailable above a certain bet size, and the number of activations is set by region. The RTP with Bonus Recharge™ in play ranges from 95.64% to 96.46%.
Jackpot Pick Feature
Jackpot Pick Tokens collect for a chance to randomly trigger this feature, and only tokens collected on the current spin count towards that chance. Once triggered, 12 tokens are shown face down, each associated with 1 of the 4 jackpots. You pick them one at a time, and when 3 matching jackpots are revealed, that jackpot is awarded and the round ends.
Jackpot prizes scale with the total bet. The collection pot shown on screen is purely visual and doesn’t influence the awarding of anything. Between the jackpots and the 2,500x top cash prize, that’s the win ceiling this game offers.
Our Honest Verdict
Overall Rating: 7.1/10
Playing Coco-Loco Cash is a lot of watching and a little bit of arriving. You spin, meters fill in the corners, and the tiki mouths keep grinning while you wait for one of three features to finally pay you back for the attention. The one reason to choose it is that waiting is genuinely rewarded here.
The Cash Collect Feature is the best thing in the game, and by a distance: a growing zone on a 5×5 grid is a proper build, and Bonus Recharge™ carrying that zone into a bought spin prices the second chance fairly. Bonus Spins, by contrast, are thin – 8 spins leaning on Random Wilds to justify themselves.
This one suits players who like three things ticking over at once and don’t mind a paytable that’s scenery. Anyone who wants the reels themselves to do the winning will run out of interest before the meters fill. The island is worth the visit if the collecting is what you came for.
