Coins of Cleo Slot Review
Inside a sunlit sandstone chamber, the reels of Coins of Cleo sit in a stone shrine flanked by carved pillars with blue-and-gold lotus capitals, lotus-shaped flame sconces glowing on the plinth either side and a dark red drape swagged overhead. The trouble with all that stonework is that it’s dressing up a game whose real business is small change: the coins landing on the reels pay multiples of your bet, and they matter more to your balance than anything the paytable offers.
Bitpunch draws it all in a warm, hand-drawn comic style with heavy outlines, and the cartoon touch is the right call for a game whose coins land carrying plain prize values rather than solemn relic symbolism. The studio’s only other title covered here is Headhunter.
It’s a 5×3 grid with 10 paylines, 96% RTP, medium-high volatility and stakes from 0.1 to 50, with a hit rate of 33.027%. The question is whether the coins underneath are worth the shrine.
Base Game & Features
Wins form left to right across the 10 paylines, and only the highest combination per line counts. The premium symbols are drawn from the Egyptian pantheon, with a red cobra at the top, followed by a purple cat god, a blue Anubis and a green bird god. Each of the four pays from two of a kind, which softens the gap between premium hits.
Four gems fill out the lower end of the table, and they pay from three of a kind. Here’s the full ladder, in multiples of the line stake.
- Cobra (red): 0.5x, 5x, 40x, 100x for two, three, four and five
- Purple Cat God: 0.4x, 3x, 20x, 50x
- Anubis (blue): 0.3x, 2x, 12x, 40x
- Green Bird God: 0.2x, 1x, 8x, 25x
- Red Gem: 0.6x, 4x, 15x for three, four and five
- Pink Gem: 0.5x, 3x, 12x
- Blue Gem: 0.4x, 2.5x, 10x
- Green Gem and White Triangle Gem: 0.3x, 2x, 8x
The shape of that table tells you where the money isn’t: line wins top out well below the coin prizes, and the four premiums bunch together at the top while the gems thin out gently towards the shared bottom rung. Line play keeps the balance moving between coin drops.
Cleo herself is the wild, standing in for any paying symbol to complete a line. She appears as a full-figure symbol and does nothing beyond substituting, which keeps the base game’s arithmetic easy to follow.
Coin Symbols
Coins are the game’s signature symbol, and they land carrying values already multiplied by your bet. Those multipliers step up through three tiers.
- Bronze coins: multipliers from 0.5x to 5x
- Silver coins: multipliers from 7x to 10x
- Gold coins: multipliers from 12x to 10,000x
Three or more coin symbols landing together converts them into their cash prizes. Bronze keeps the feature ticking over with small collections, silver sits in the middle, and gold is where the whole construction points. Coins worth 0.5x, 2x and 4x the bet sit on the reels next to the odd 7x, so the values vary widely from coin to coin.
That gold tier’s 10,000x top step is the single biggest number anywhere in the game. It’s the reason the coin system, rather than the scatter bonus, is the thing to watch here.
Re-Spin
Two scatters landing short of the full trigger award a re-spin. The triggering reel lights up with a yellow glow while a special symbol is in play, and the remaining reels spin again underneath it.
It’s a bridge between near-miss and bonus, and it means a two-scatter spin never quite dies on the spot. The third scatter still has to arrive for the feature to trigger, so the re-spin is a second chance rather than a guarantee. Everything else on the screen resolves first; the glowing reel then gets its moment alone.
Coins of Cleo Free Spins & Bonus Features
Three or more scatters trigger the free spins round. The round carries the coin theme straight through: no fixed spin count is announced, so the trigger is the event and the coins do the rest.
The coin symbols bring their cash values and multiplier tiers with them when the round begins, so every bronze, silver and gold coin that lands during the feature pays on the spot. That makes the gold coin’s top step of 10,000x the round’s ceiling of note.
The scatter symbols themselves don’t pay a line win; their job is the trigger. With the re-spin sitting one scatter short of the feature, the game’s bonus path is a three-step ladder: two scatters for a re-spin, three for the round, and the coins on top.
Power-Ups
A rocket icon in the play frame opens the Power-Ups menu, which holds the game’s two optional boosts. These are player-selectable rather than random, and each changes something different about the path into the feature.
- Buy Free Spins: skip the scatter chase and go straight to the round
- Golden Bet: an ante-style boost applied before spinning
Buying the round trades the re-spin ladder’s suspense for certainty, while Golden Bet is the quieter option for players who’d rather keep the scatter chase but sweeten it. Neither is forced; both sit behind the rocket icon until you want them. Players who prefer to grind the trigger organically can ignore the menu completely, and nothing in the game pushes it.
Our Honest Verdict
Overall Rating: 7/10
Coins of Cleo plays like a slot built backwards: the line game is thin, and every session ends up being about waiting for coins with big multipliers on them to stack up in the shrine. That’s the reason to pick it over the thousand other Egyptian slots on the shelf, and in its warm, hand-drawn wrapper the wait rarely feels grim.
The two-scatter re-spin is the best thing here, because it takes the game’s most common miss and gives it a second chance to matter. The free spins round is the weakest: it triggers cleanly and then has nothing of its own to offer, beyond the coins you were already collecting.
This is one for players who enjoy cash-collect slots and don’t need a feature ladder to keep them interested. Anyone who wants a bonus round with its own personality should keep walking past the pillars. For coin collectors, the sconces are lit.
