Base Game & Features
Digging For Wilds is a highly volatile 6-reel, 4-row video slot with 1,024 ways to win. Paytable symbols connect as winning combinations when at least 3 of the same type land on adjacent reels, starting from reel 1.
The Hardhat is the highest-paying symbol, followed by the Boots, Flask, Pickaxe, Map, and A, K, Q, J, & 10 card suits. Once a winning combination is established, a fixed payout between 0.1x and 10x your bet is awarded.
In addition, the game contains 2 types of Wild symbols, which substitute for all symbols when part of a winning combination. Any combination of 6 Dynamite and/or Gem Wilds in a single win awards a payout of 10x your bet.
Horizontal Reel
Above the main reel set, there is an additional reel that enables 4 Mining Carts to pass through. Each cart may bring random Modifiers or Empty Cells to all Dynamite Wilds currently in view.
Dynamite Wilds can only land on reels 2, 3, 4, & 5 in the base game. If an Empty Cart stops above a Dynamite Wild, the cart determines additional features depending on the Progressive Level.
- Dynamite Multipliers: Apply to all Dynamite Wilds on the reel directly below it, awarding a random value between x2 and x50 for Silver, Gold, & Diamond Levels.
- Coins: After all wins are paid, the Dynamite Wild explodes in a different way than Detonators, giving a random number of Cash symbols a value between 0.5x and 10x your bet.
- Detonators: Explode Dynamite Wilds directly below it, creating several Gem Wilds depending on the current Progressive Level.
- (Silver) – Explodes vertically into 3 Gem Wilds, transforming neighbouring symbols above & below into Gem Wilds. (Gold) – Explodes horizontally into 3 Gem Wilds, creating positions to the left and right of it into the same Gem Wilds. (Diamond) – Explodes 4 positions within a diagonal pattern into Gem Wilds.
- Special Prizes: Awards Mini (5x), Minor (20x), Major (100x), Grand (1,000x), Mega (20,000x).
- Gem Wilds: Appear when created by an explosion caused by a Detonator, substituting for all symbols when part of a win.
Digging For Wilds: Free Spins
Landing 2 Bonus Scatters on reels 1 & 6 in the base game triggers the Free Spins mode, awarding 10 Free Spins. Alternatively, landing 2 Bonus Scatters during this mode awards an additional +10 Free Spins.
During this mode, there is at least 1 Dynamite Wild available in each spin, while all Mine Carts contain a random Modifier. This means that at least 1 Modifier is guaranteed to trigger in every spin.

Our Honest Verdict
Digging For Wilds allows players to enjoy the spoils of buried treasure without having to put in a hard day’s graft, but just like any unstable mine, one wrong move can send the whole operation crashing down around you.
In the base game, this game does a great job of keeping things engaging through the Horizontal Reel, adding a layer of opportunity above the main reel set during each spin. Each Mine Cart regularly displays a variety of Modifiers that enhance the overall experience, giving players plenty to focus on as they wait for Free Spins to trigger.
While Mine Carts frequently carry Modifiers, benefitting from them requires Dynamite Wilds to land on the reel below them. Without that connection, those rewards never come into play, leaving the Horizontal Reel feeling more like window shopping than genuine value.
The Free Spins mode is triggered by landing 2 Bonus Scatters in the same spin, which sounds generous on paper. However, each Bonus Scatter is specifically linked to reels 1 & 6, making this setup far more restrictive than it first appears.
Digging For Wilds sits firmly in the very high volatility category, with its risky gameplay balanced out by a sizable 20,196x max win potential. Considering the hurdles built into this game, the volatility score feels justified and very much in line with what this game offers.

Digging For Wilds FAQs
-
How do you trigger Free Spins in Digging For Wilds?
The Free Spins mode is activated by landing 2 Bonus Scatters on reels 1 & 6 to award 10 Free Spins. This particular format of triggering the Free Spins mode is far more challenging given the lack of Bonus Scatters on the remaining 4 reels. -
What role does the Horizontal Reel play in the base game?

What is the maximum win potential in Digging For Wilds?
Digging For Wilds offers an impressive max win potential of 20,196x your bet, giving players plenty to aim for during a game session. -
Do mine cart Modifiers carry over into Free Spins?
No. Any Modifiers revealed in the base game are only applied to that current spin. If they are not activated by a Dynamite Wild during that spin, they are lost.
