Follow the psychological downfall of a once-happy suburban family in Nolimit City’s spine-tingling new release, Disorder. John was once the patriarch of the family – a devoted husband, loving father, and an upstanding citizen…until one day, he was followed home by something dark & demonic.

As day turned to night, his eyes became dead and his hands even deadlier. What remains of this ‘happy family’ appears in the form of a loving family portrait, faces smiling but forever lost. What really happened in that house, only John knows….and he isn’t talking.

Are our eyes deceiving us, or has Nolimit City finally given us a prequel to Mental? For too long, we’ve been kept in the dark about the origin of the main within their most twisted creation, how he descended into madness, and what ultimately drove him there.

We’re of course speculating, with no confirmation from Nolimit City, but if it is indeed a prequel, then it’ll be like looking through a looking glass and into the past of a madman. Did he decide to snap one day, or is there something more sinister going on, like a case of Amytiville Horror, perhaps?

Maybe radiation, mental instability, paranoia, and being locked within a confined space with such a person is just a recipe for disaster…even if you are family. Disorder restores our confidence in Nolimit City, especially after a failed Breakout attempt, and nothing screams thrilling entertainment like a pre-gameplay disclaimer of ‘disturbing images and graphic content‘, quite like a Nolimit City slot.

With a fixed RTP of 96.11% and a high volatility score, Disorder can produce wins worth up to 23,500x your bet, but are you mentally prepared for the torture & torment that comes with it? Let’s find out…

Base Game & Features

Disorder is a highly volatile 6-reel video slot, featuring a row configuration of 4-3-4-3-4-3 and 1,728 ways to win. Winning combinations are created when 3-6 matching symbols appear on adjacent reels, starting from reel 1.

The highest-paying symbol falls to the Father, followed by the Mother, Son, Daughter, Pet, and multiple Household Items. When a winning combination has been confirmed on the reels, it will award a fixed payout between 0.05x and 3x your bet.

Additionally, Wild symbols account for the highest winning combination on the reels, substituting for all symbols when completing a win. Lastly, the Avalanche Feature destroys all winning sequences from the reels, creating room for additional symbols to fall in from above.

Fire Frames

Throughout a game session, Fire Frames can appear on random cell positions, and any symbol that lands within them is split into 2 instances, up to a maximum of 16. If a Scatter symbol falls within a Fire Frame, it will upgrade to a Super Scatter symbol.

Enhancer Cells

Up to 3 Enhancer Cells can be found at the bottom of reels 2, 4, & 6. Enhancer Cells are locked at the start of each spin, and can only be unlocked when a certain number of Fire Frames appear in view:

  • Enhancer Cell (Reel 2): Unlocks when 4 Fire Frames appear on reels 1-6.
  • Enhancer Cell (Reel 4): Unlocks when 7 Fire Frames appear on reels 1-6, in addition to the Enhancer Cell on reel 2.
  • Enhancer Cell (Reel 6): Unlocks when 9 Fire Frames appear on reels 1-6, including Enhancer Cells on reels 2 & 4.

When all 3 Enhancer Cells are unlocked in the same spin, every 2 additional Fire Frames reactivate all Enhancer Cells. Once an Enhancer Cell is active, it will award one of the following features:

  • Molotov: Selects a random paytable symbol, splitting all instances on the reels, up to a maximum of 16 times. After this, it will transform itself into the same high or low-paying (splitting) symbol.
  • Delusion: Chooses a random paytable symbol and transforms all instances in view into the highest-paying (Father) symbol. Afterwards, it transforms itself into the same high-paying symbol.
  • Paranoia Multiplier: Adds a random multiplier between x1 and x999 to the Total Win Multiplier. The current multiplier is then applied to all future wins from the moment it is revealed. Afterwards, it will transform itself into a Wild symbol.
  • Nuclear Wild: Transforms all paytable symbols on its respective reel into Wild symbols, before converting itself into a Wild.
  • xBomb: Removes all non-winning symbols in a specific area, allowing new symbols to drop in. If a winning symbol exists on a non-winning position, it will not be removed by the xBomb. Afterwards, it will transform into a Wild symbol, increasing the Win Multiplier by +x1.
  • Family Member: Reveals 1 of 5 high-paying (family) symbols.

Disorder Free Spins

Triggering any of the 3 Free Spins modes requires a variety of Scatter/Super Scatter symbols to land in the base game. The available Free Spins modes are: Obsessive Compulsive, Antisocial Personality, & Severe Dissociative Identity Spins.

  • Scatters: Are worth +2 Free Spins
  • Super Scatters: Are worth +3 Free Spins

Obsessive Compulsive Spins

Landing 3 Scatter symbols, with up to 1 Super Scatter, triggers the Obsessive Compulsive mode, awarding 6 Free Spins.

In this mode, Fire Frames appear more frequently on the reels. With each spin, the number of Fire Frames & the current Win Multiplier reset. When 2-3 Super Scatters appear in view, the current mode will upgrade to Antisocial Personality Spins, while 4 Scatters award Severe Dissociative Identity Spins.

Antisocial Personality Spins

The Antisocial Personality mode is triggered when 3 Scatters, with at least 2 Super Scatters, appear in the same base game spin, awarding 8+ Free Spins. This mode maintains the same mechanics as Obsessive Compulsive Spins, only the Win Multiplier does not reset between spins.

Landing 2 Super Scatters at this time will upgrade the current mode to Severe Dissociative Spins.

Severe Dissociative Spins

When 4 Super Scatters appear in the base game, the Severe Dissociative mode is triggered, awarding 12+ Free Spins. In this mode, Fire Frames persist throughout spins until the end of the feature, as does the Win Multiplier.

Extra Spin

At the end of Antisocial or Severe Dissociative Identity Spins, players may receive an opportunity to purchase an Extra Spin. The Extra Spin resumes the current game mode while maintaining the Win Multiplier & Fire Frames (if persistent).

The cost of such a feature is calculated based on the current Win Multiplier & Fire Frames. If the total of the Extra Spin is less than or equal to the total win of the session, the Extra Spin option will be granted.

Nolimit Booster & Bonus Buy

Players may purchase any of the following Nolimit Booster & Bonus Buy options:

  • Bonus Booster: Increases the chance of triggering a Free Spins mode for 2x your bet per spin
  • Fire Booster: Increases the chance of landing more Fire Frames than the average base game spin for 4x your bet
  • Enhancer Booster: For an additional 15x your bet, each spin guarantees 9 Fire Frames, with more Fire Frames appearing in upcoming spins
  • Obsessive Compulsion Spins: Guaranteed access to this mode with 3+ Scatters for 80x your bet
  • Antisocial Personality Spins: Instant access to this mode with 3+ Scatters/Super Scatters for 300x your bet
  • Severe Dissociative Identity Spins: Triggers this mode with 4+ Super Scatters for 800x your bet
  • Mystery: Obsessive Compulsion (25%), Antisocial Personality (50%), Severe Dissociative Identity (25%) for 370x your bet

Disorder has a maximum win potential of 23,500x your bet. If a single session achieves this figure, the current mode ends, and the player returns to the base game with the qualifying amount.

Our Honest Verdict

Only the genius minds of Nolimit City could whip up a narrative like the one found here in Disorder. As soon as you load into the game, you’re instantly reminded of Mental & Mental 2, which, as expected, share many similarities.

Disorder also touches the likes of Kenneth Must Die, revealing symbols that tell a story…not one of a double life, but the lives of a once-happy family descending into ruin. While there is an obvious connection to the Mental sequel, it’s not quite along the same lines as they both are to each other.

Like the Final Destination & The Conjuring movies, one could argue that Disorder is technically the first release, though chronologically, it’s not. Like the movies, though, it’s such an exciting moment when you’re finally given the answers you’ve been seeking for so long, like putting the final piece of the puzzle in place.

During gameplay, Enhancer Cells are responsible for the distribution of many interesting features, with Molotovs, Delusions, Nuclear Wilds, and xBombs all part of this thrilling package – certainly different from the multiple xMechanics found in Mental.

To benefit from these features, the game needs to apply 4-9 Fire Frames to random cell positions, as is the case in all three Free Spins sessions. Our only dispute is that Fire Frames fail to persist in 2/3 Free Spins modes, which changes the pace significantly.

Admittedly, the Obsessive Compulsive & Antisocial Personality modes do not carry the same momentum as Mental 2, but that doesn’t mean they won’t perform to the best of their abilities and turn into something explosive.

While Disorder is still more than capable of delivering those epic moments, overall, it feels more balanced, with each spin offering an equal shot at something promising, rather than building toward a single climactic payout.

Statistically, the game doesn’t quite touch the sides of both Mental instalments, but the 23,500x max win potential is a fair offering. All in all, Disorder feels very different, but also familiar at times, offering a fresh (and equally terrifying) experience once again.
