Dynamite Riches Megaways Slot Review
Down a timbered shaft lit by pale blue miner’s lamps, the rails run out of the bottom of the screen and into the dark. Dynamite Riches Megaways asks you to do the one thing a Megaways player usually doesn’t have to: work for it. This is Red Tiger hiding its best mechanics behind a 60-dynamite grind, and the bet it makes is that a board which visibly opens up beats one that fires on spin one.
It runs on six reels with variable rows, so the ways to win shift every spin. RTP sits at 95.75%, the top win is 8,185x the bet, and stakes run from 0.1 to 50 per spin. It sits alongside Mystery Reels Megaways and Dragons Fire Megaways in Red Tiger’s Megaways stable.
How the Base Game Pays
There are no fixed paylines. Each spin deals a different number of rows per reel, and the resulting ways count is displayed above the board, swinging from a few hundred to well past ten thousand on a full grid. Wins pay left to right on adjacent reels.
The Dynamite Wild substitutes for all paying symbols and counts as whichever symbol completes the longest combination on a single win way. That’s the whole wild rule, and it’s a generous one.
On a board with thousands of ways, a well-placed wild does an enormous amount of work. The paytable is a familiar mining spread, with the royals – gems and card suits – filling out the bottom. All values are multiples of the total bet:
- Miner: 0.5x for three, 1x for four, 1.5x for five, 2x for six
- Gold Bag: 0.4x, 0.9x, 1.4x, 1.8x
- Miner’s Helmet Lamp: 0.4x, 0.8x, 1.2x, 1.6x
- Crossed Pickaxe/Shovel: 0.3x, 0.7x, 1x, 1.3x
- Lantern Bottle: 0.3x, 0.6x, 0.9x, 1.2x
- Blue Gem: 0.2x, 0.5x, 0.7x, 1x
- Club: 0.2x, 0.4x, 0.6x, 0.9x
- Heart: 0.1x, 0.3x, 0.5x, 0.8x
- Diamond: 0.1x, 0.2x, 0.4x, 0.7x
Hit frequency is 23.59%, so roughly one spin in four connects. Six-of-a-kind miner pays just 2x the bet. That tells you where this game’s money is meant to come from: the modifiers and the bonus round, not the reels themselves.
Dynamite Wilds and the Feature Unlock Progress
The middle of the game is the progress bar sitting above the reels, split into four sections, one per feature. Every Dynamite Wild that lands fills the current section by one. Fifteen dynamites unlock a feature, and once the bar moves on, further dynamites start filling the next section.
There are 60 in total, and once the final feature is unlocked, dynamites stop appearing altogether. The bar is the spine of the game – everything else hangs off how far along it you are.
Unlocking a feature doesn’t fire it. It makes the feature available to trigger at random on any spin at the same stake, and a freshly unlocked feature always triggers on the following spin.
Progress is saved per bet level, so switching stakes means switching progress states. The climb you made at 0.50 is waiting for you when you come back to it.
TNT
First off the mark at 15 dynamites. When TNT triggers, all low-paying symbols are removed from the reels for that spin. Every gem and card suit vanishes, leaving only the premium symbols and the wilds in play.
If you head into Gold Spins after TNT has fired, the low symbols stay on the board for the duration of the round. The blast happens in the base game or not at all.
Multiplier
This one arrives third, at 45 dynamites. A compass appears and spins to reveal a multiplier of 2x, 3x, 5x or 10x, applied to the next win. If it triggers again before any win lands, the multipliers stack, up to x20.
Inside Gold Spins the compass behaves differently: instead of applying to a single win, it adds to the round’s growing multiplier. An active base game multiplier carries into Gold Spins if you trigger the round with one live.
Anything accumulated during the round resets when it ends. Nothing carries back out.
Mega Wild
The last padlock, and it takes all 60 dynamites. Up to four Mega Wilds can land on the middle four reels, each covering an entire reel and carrying its own multiplier between x2 and x7, applied to every win way it takes part in.
A stack of multiplied full-reel wilds on an open board is the payoff the whole progress bar is building towards. It’s also the only unlock that keeps giving after the bar is done.
With dynamites gone from the reels, the Mega Wilds are what’s left of the escalation. Everything else is settled.
Gold Spins
The Gold Spins symbol is a scatter. Three anywhere on the reels award eight Gold Spins, and each additional scatter adds two more. Three more during the round award four bonus spins, plus one for every scatter beyond three.
The round runs on a growing win multiplier. It starts at x1, every win bumps it by one, and it’s capped at x20. The multiplier applies to all wins and doesn’t reset for the duration of the round.
Stack that with a transferred compass multiplier and multiplied Mega Wilds, and the ceiling – 8,185x the bet – starts to look reachable rather than decorative. It’s the combination the base game spends 60 dynamites assembling.
One asymmetry: TNT’s low-symbol removal doesn’t carry into Gold Spins if it fired beforehand, so the bonus board is the full board, royals and all. The multiplier stacking is what the round turns on.
Our Honest Verdict
Overall Rating: 7.3/10
Playing this is a shift in the dark. You sit there filling a bar, one small win at a time, and the reason you’d choose it over a dozen louder Megaways games is that you can feel the mine opening up around you: each unlock genuinely changes what the next spin can do, and the fully lit board is a different game to the one you sat down at.
That build is the strength, and it’s real rather than cosmetic. The weakness is the back half of the bar: 60 dynamites is a long haul, and the last stretch offers nothing new while you grind it out.
It’s for players who enjoy a session with a shape to it, who’d rather earn their wilds than be handed them. If you want the good stuff immediately, this shaft stays dark for too long. The patient ones come up with the gold.
