2021 has been full steam ahead so far for Play’n GO, who have already brought us the likes of Faces of Freya, The Green Knight, Thunderscreech and Lord Merlin and the Lady of the Lake – and there’s much more yet to come.
As we turn our attention to the legendary fable that is The Fire Toad, the mind boggles at what sort of potential this slot has, and even how such a creature came to be.
In this Fire Toad Slot Review, we’ll be looking at some of the key features of the game, as well as statistics, to give you a detailed insight on what to expect from Fire Toad.
Fire Toad Slot: Betting and Symbols
Fire Toad has all the betting options that you’d expect from a Play’n GO instalment, which always caters to everyone.
The lowest stake available in Fire Toad is £/€0.10, with the highest option at £/€100.
There is a quantity of different options in between, so there is an ideal option for all here.
In terms of the Symbols in Fire Toad, it’ll come as no surprise that the highest paying symbol is the Fire Toad King – or the biggest sized Toad.
Other high paying symbols in the game are comprised of the Fire Toad in various stages of its growth cycle, with the lowest premium symbol represented by a little Fire Toad tadpole – cute.
Low Paying symbols in the game are the 4 Card Suit symbols portrayed in a Hawaiian theme, and the Wild and Scatter act as one. This is represented by the Firefly symbol.
Fire Toad Slot: The Base Game and Features
Fire Toad is a 5 reel Slot that utilises 1,024 ways to win.
This means that symbols will connect to each other, regardless of their positions on their respective reels, as long as they connect from left to right starting from the left-most reel.
The pay outs for symbols on the game are a little bit low, probably due to the fact that the game uses ways instead of lines.
Connecting 5 of the highest paying symbols will net you a mere 5x, but Fire Toad does have some features up its sleeve that will up the potential a bit.
If 2 Scatter Symbols land on the reel, then a Toad Symbol is chosen at random to upgrade to a chosen symbol.
All symbols currently on screen of the same type will upgrade, but a win isn’t guaranteed.
Of course, most of the fun in Fire Toad will predominantly sit within the Free Spins round.
Fire Toad Slot: Free Spins
To trigger the Free Spins in Fire Toad Slot Game, you’ll need at least 3 Scatter Symbols
- 3 Scatters – 9 Free Spins
- 4 Scatters – 12 Free Spins
- 5 Scatters – 15 Free Spins
The Free Spins in Fire Toad works a lot like some other games you might have seen before, with symbols that upgrade to the next highest symbols, which gradually increases the concentration of higher symbols.
The Free Spins will start with the smallest sized Toad upgraded to the next highest paying symbol, but subsequent upgrades will come from re-triggers.
The game has the most potential when all Toads are upgrades to the biggest size and this is where Fire Toad will be capable of its maximum win of 5000x.
The bonus can be an exciting prospect indeed, but relying on re-triggers for a great bonus can inevitably end in tears, with some bonuses sure to be thoroughly disappointing with no re-triggers to be seen. Adversely, if you’re lucky, then the Fire Toad might bestow upon you unimaginable riches!
Where to Play Fire Toad?
Fire Toad hasn’t been released as of yet, but it will be available to play at most New Casinos when it releases on 08.04.2021
Fire Toad Slot: Our Verdict
There’s a few things to be excited about with Fire Toad, and a few things not to be that thrilled about.
For one, Payouts for symbols isn’t exactly great, so you’ll be relying on the 2 Scatter Feature a lot to turn some lower symbols into higher paying ones for some bigger connections.
It’s understandable in a sense, the huge wins for a line of symbols are usually reserved for restricted and more limited pay line games, which may have 10 pay lines, so you can kind of forgive the low pays when there are 1,024.
The Bonus does well in upping the excitement, but is it particularly innovative? Not really.
We’ve seen this kind of format a lot before, and as mentioned, relying on upgrades more often than not can fall flat.
That’s not to say that Fire Toad isn’t a good game, statistics certainly prove that it’s capable of some monster wins, but you’ll be relying on a very specific set of circumstance’s, namely re-triggers, for it to come to fruition.
Commendations need to be made for the idea and theme of Fire Toad, which is a completely original and imaginative idea, something that Play’n GO regularly excel at.
