Genie Jackpots Wishmaker Slot Review
A brass lamp rests on a red silk cushion, gold coins scattered at its feet, and a flickering oil lantern lights the crimson drapes around the reels. Most slots in this setting would let the spinning do the talking; Genie Jackpots Wishmaker doesn’t, because nearly everything it pays out arrives through the genie’s interference rather than the paylines alone. The modifiers aren’t garnish here – they carry the game.
From Blueprint Gaming, this is a modifier slot first and a payline slot second. It runs a 5×4 grid with 20 always-active paylines, a 94% RTP and a ceiling of 1,000x the total bet in its Big Money round. It sits alongside Genie Jackpots Megaways and Genie Jackpots: Even More Wishes in Blueprint’s lamp-rubbing series, and the lamp here is the busiest of the three.
How the Base Game Pays
Wins form in the conventional way: two to five matching symbols from the left across one of the 20 lines, with only the highest combination on each line paid and all line wins totalled together. The paying symbols, as multiples of the total bet:
- Genie Jackpots Wishmaker symbol (super stacked) – 2x for two, 40x for three, 100x for four, 500x for five
- Crossed Swords – 20x, 80x, 300x
- Jewel Bag / Parrot – 10x, 60x, 200x
- A – 8x, 40x, 100x
- Q / J – 4x, 10x, 50x
One detail matters: those figures are multiples of the total bet, not the line bet. A five-of-a-kind genie symbol at 500x is worth considerably more than line-bet maths would suggest.
The wild substitutes for everything except scatter and bonus symbols, and it comes in five forms – standard, Genie, Monkey, Reel and Multiplying. That’s a fair hint at how much of this game runs on wilds. The bonus scatter pays nothing directly; three or more anywhere simply opens the door to the bonus.
The Wishmaker Modifiers
Randomly, on any spin, one of the Wishmaker modifiers can fire. There’s no trigger to chase and nothing to strategise around – the genie simply intervenes, and the list of interventions is long:
- Infectious Monkey Wilds – wilds land on the next spin and spread to nearby positions
- Genie Wilds – the genie flies from the lamp and turns reel positions wild
- Colossal Genie – three adjacent reels merge into one colossal reel mid-spin
- Mystery Wishes – every mystery symbol in view reveals the same randomly chosen symbol
- Genie Streak – a winning symbol locks in place and respins continue, locking new matches, until none land
- Bonus Boost – extra bonus symbols are added, sharply improving the odds of triggering the bonus on that spin
- Win Spin – a guaranteed big winning spin
There’s also an unnamed mercy modifier: on a losing spin the genie can slam the reels and replace the symbols in view, turning a dead spin into a win. It’s a small thing, but it means genuinely blank results are rarer than they look.
The Power Spin is the grander version of all this: rub the lamp and you’re granted one of seven wishes, which range across the modifiers above plus their stronger variants. It’s a lottery, but a generous one on paper.
Genie’s Wishmaker Bonus: One Wheel, Six Rounds
Three or more bonus scatters award no cash – just a spin of a wheel that stops on one of six features. You don’t choose; the wheel does. Each round has its own personality.
Sultan’s Jewels Bonus
A pick-a-chest round. Chests reveal cash adds based on your total bet, collect ends it, and keys bank towards another feature at three collected. A genie symbol opens three chests guaranteed not to contain collect. Modest, but the keys give it legs.
Magic Carpet Bonus
A trail game: pick lamps to advance along the carpet, with genie icons warping you forward to a random position further along. Reach the end and you enter Big Money; reveal collect and it’s over. This is the only route to the game’s top round.
Lucky Wishes Cash Spin
Three cash spins to start. Every money scatter in view resets the counter to three, and the round only ends on three consecutive blank spins or a fully filled grid.
Fill every position with money symbols and you trigger a retrigger that banks and restarts, a multiplier of x2 to x5, or a cash boost that upgrades random values. The reset mechanic is the best idea in the game.
Golden Touch Free Spins
On each free spin the genie can fly out and turn an entire reel wild, and repeated visits to the same reel stack the wild multiplier up by one each time. A reel hit twice carries x2, three times x3, and so on. It compounds quietly rather than exploding.
Genie’s Wild Storm Free Spins
The most elaborate round, and the only one that changes the grid: 40 winlines are always active here instead of 20. Wilds that land leave wild frames behind, and frames improve a level when hit again. On the final spin every frame becomes a wild at x1 to x5 depending on its level – the whole round is a slow build towards that one last spin.
Big Money Bonus
Values spin and stop to award total bet multipliers; keep picking scrolls to keep spinning and winning until collect appears. This is where the game’s 1,000x top prize lives, and it’s reachable only through the Magic Carpet trail – a long road to the only figure that really matters.
The Feature Gamble
After any feature win except Big Money, you can collect or gamble your way up a ladder of all six rounds, ranked by average payout. Win the gamble and the next feature up is yours; lose and you walk away with nothing, and the odds aren’t necessarily what’s shown.
Collect at any point, reach the top, or land on the Mystery Win segment for a cash prize based on your total bet. It’s a proper old-school ladder gamble, and it gives the wheel’s randomness a counterweight of choice.
Our Honest Verdict
Overall Rating: 7.2/10
Sitting down at Wishmaker means never quite getting a clean stretch of ordinary spins – the genie is always butting in, respinning your winners, slamming the reels on your losers, and that restlessness is exactly why you’d pick it over a quieter 20-liner. It’s a slot built for people who want something happening on screen at all times.
The bonus is the strongest thing here. Six rounds that actually play differently from each other, plus a gamble ladder that hands you a real decision after the wheel has taken the first one away – most games in this family offer half that variety with twice the fanfare.
Where it runs out of air is the money. A 1,000x ceiling that’s only reachable through one specific trail is thin for a game this dense with features, and chasing it means a lot of wheel spins that land elsewhere. If constant activity matters more to you than a big ceiling, the lamp keeps granting; the jackpot hunters should probably keep walking past this particular tent.
