Привет, Comrades, and welcome to Gopnik…Sneaky Slots’ most unsavoury slot yet. We’re at a bit of a loss on how to describe Gopnik; it looks like what was left behind after some Russian Nuclear War, where the only survivors are a group of less-than-affluent Russian degenerates.
Google to the rescue – It describes typical traits associated with ‘Gopnik’ as squatting in a Slav Squat, wearing tracksuits, acting tough, committing petty crime, hooliganism, & speaking in a form of rough slang.
So basically, it’s Russian chavs (there, we said it). It’s given us a brilliant idea to approach the showmakers of ‘This is England’ with a ‘This is Russia’ spin-off, but we’d have to reward Sneaky Slots with a slice of the royalties for the idea.
For now, we’ll cast aside our own imagination and explore Sneaky Slots – a new provider backed by a catalogue of heavy hitters. Their first release, Nip Tuck, showcased the rabbit hole of “perfection” in an unusual yet captivating light, & Freak Show Revelation followed soon after as the first non-Nolimit City slot to host their staple xMechanics.
Freak Show Revelation showed some real sideshows, but they’re no freakier than Sergeri, Svetlana, Yuri & Vlad…
Base Game & Features
Gopnik is a 5-reel, 4-row video slot with 30 fixed pay lines. Winning payouts are produced when 3+ matching symbols land on adjacent reels, starting from reel 1, across connecting pay lines.
Four individual Gopnik Characters make up the game’s high-paying symbols, which pay anywhere between 0.7x and 50x your bet. Other symbols include 5 low-paying (letter) instances that also reveal a fixed payout between 0.3x and 3x your bet.
In addition, several Wild symbols can appear on all reels, substituting for all symbols when part of a winning combination. Wild symbols award a fixed payout of 20x and 50x your bet for a 5 or 6-of-a-kind winning combination, respectively.
Wild Symbols
During gameplay, up to 3 Wild symbols (Babushka, Burner Phone, & xNudge) can appear in view, awarding one of the following outcomes:
- Babushka: Appears on reel 1 in the base game. Once active, up to 4 cell positions are marked on the other reels. If a Gopnik Character falls within a marked position, it reveals a random Multiplier between 5x and 50x your bet.
- Burner Phone: Appears on reel 5 in the base game. Once visible, random symbols will connect to the shady call, transforming into Wilds.
- xNudge Bats: Appear anywhere on the reels. When partially in view, it will nudge onto the reel until fully visible, increasing the Multiplier by +x1 per nudge
Scratch Card Bonus
Triggering the Scratch Card Bonus requires 3 Scatters to land anywhere in the base game. Once active, a Scratch Card containing 5 removable icons appears in view. If 3 Dice symbols are revealed, you will instantly enter the Street Roll Bonus. Otherwise, revealing 3 Calculator symbols will award the Kiosk Raid Bonus.
Super Scratch Card Bonus
Alternatively, landing 3 Scatters & 1 Super Scatter in the base game triggers the Super Scratch Card Bonus. This mode follows the same mannerisms as the standard Scratch Card Bonus, only Super Street Roll & Super Kiosk Raid Bonuses are awarded.
Lastly, revealing a Gold Car symbol during the Scratch Card or Super Scratch Card Bonus will award the maximum win potential of 6,666x your bet.
Street Roll Bonus
Once the Street Roll Bonus has been awarded, 7 Free Spins are initially awarded, with the addition of a 6th reel. Furthermore, Gopnik Characters on reels 1 & 6 can display a special Dice Token; however, landing a Gopnik Character with a Dice Token on both reels will trigger the Cheeki Beeki Mini-Game.
During the Street Roll Bonus, if a Super Scatter hits on reel 6, it will automatically upgrade the current session to the Super Street Bonus, where a new Scratch Card is revealed to determine the number of triggering Super Free Spins, between 2 & 10, that are awarded.
Cheeki Beeki
During the Cheeki Beeki Mini-Game, 2 Dice symbols are rolled. If the leftmost dice reveals a higher number & wins, a Multiplier equal to the winning number is applied to all wins of the current spin.
Alternatively, if the rightmost dice wins, Wild symbols equal to its respective number are positioned on random reels for the current spin. If both Dice symbols reveal the same number, up to 2 additional rolls are available until one reveals a higher value than the other.
In extreme circumstances, if all 3 rolls reveal the same numbers simultaneously, +5 Free Spins are awarded. If all 3 rolls reveal 1s, 2s, 3s, 4s, 5s, or 6s, a Cash Prize of 1,11x, 2,22x, 3,333x, 4,444x, 5,555x, and 6,666x your bet is awarded, respectively.
Super Street Roll Bonus
The Super Street Roll Bonus continues to maintain the same mannerisms as the standard Street Roll Bonus, with an additional +9 Free Spins awarded. Additionally, each Multiplier triggered during the Cheeki Beeki Mini-Game remains in play, stacking with each new Multiplier awarded. Lastly, each spin can reveal up to 4 xNudge Wilds per spin.
Kiosk Raid Bonus
Once the Kiosk Raid Bonus is active, 3 Respins are guaranteed, with only Label symbols available on the grid. For every Label symbol that hits, the Respins Meter resets to 3.
During Respins, the topmost row reveals additional Win Multipliers between 1x and 100x your bet with every spin. Each new Label symbol that appears in view will possess the respective Win Multiplier once settled on the grid.
In addition, the topmost row can reveal up to 4 Modifiers, which only affect Label symbols directly below its current position, so long as they have an existing Win Multiplier. The available Modifiers are as follows:
- Upgrade: Enhances a random Multiplier Label with a higher value
- Collect: Gathers all Label symbols & adds their Win Multipliers together to create a Total Multiplier
- Double: Selects a random Multiplier Label & doubles its current value
- Super Bonus: Instantly upgrades the current session to the Super Kiosk Raid Bonus
Once the session is complete, the total value of all Multiplier Labels is added together & applied, multiplied by your current bet.
Super Kiosk Raid Bonus
The Super Kiosk Raid Bonus continues to apply the same rules as the standard Kiosk Raid Bonus, with an additional +2 Rows added to the grid. One row enables further Label symbols to appear in view, whilst the second row awards a random number of Additive Values between +1 and +100.
If a new Label symbol falls directly above an Additive Value, it will apply its current value to all available Label symbols upon the same reel. Furthermore, the bottom row can reveal any of the following Boosted Modifiers:
- Upgrade All: Enhances all Multiplier Labels on their respective reels with higher values
- Double All: Each Multiplier Label upon the respective reel is doubled in value
- Collect All: Gathers all Multiplier Labels on the respective reel & adds them to the Total Multiplier
Sneaky Boost & Bonus Buy
Players within eligible markets can purchase any of the following Sneaky Boost & Bonus Buy options:
- Sneaky Boost: Increases your chance of triggering a Bonus or Super Bonus for an additional 2x your bet per spin
- Super Sneaky Boost: Significantly increases your chance of triggering a Bonus or Super Bonus for an additional 5x your bet per spin
- Babushka & Burner Phone: Guarantees at least 1 Babushka and/or Burner Phone during a single spin for 15x your bet
- xNudge: Guarantees 1 or more xNudge Wilds to appear in view on the reels for 7x your bet
- Street Roll or Kiosk Raid Bonus: Can be purchased for 100x your bet each
- Super Street Roll or Super Kiosk Raid Bonus: Can be purchased for 380x your bet each
Each of the above options includes a fixed RTP module of 95.53% to 95.93%. Gopnik has a maximum win potential of 6,666x your bet. If a single session exceeds this, the current mode ends, and the player returns to the base game with the qualifying amount.
Our Honest Verdict
Sneaky Slots has emerged as a real contender for future greatness, with a sizable share of players’ affections. Behind them are great minds and the support of some of the best in the iGaming industry.
Sneaky Slots are a nepo baby of sorts (in the best possible way), raised under Evolution’s umbrella, giving them the best possible start. Gopnik feels diverse, confident, & feature-rich in ways that other new studios do not. There was no ‘Bambi’ moment for Sneaky Slots; they were just born & started running.
The street-level setting gives gameplay a different flavour compared to the studio’s earlier releases, but the real talking point is the volume of mechanical variety here. xNudge, arguably Nolimit City’s greatest contribution to modern slot design, fits effortlessly into the chaos, joining Babushka & Burner Phone Wilds to keep the base game lively and unpredictable.
Street Roll feels more like a traditional Free Spins mode, with an added layer of volatility from the Cheeki Beeki Mini-Game, which can enhance wins through multipliers or sudden bursts of Wilds. The Kiosk Raid Bonus is the generic Hold & Win feature, offering a strong mix of Modifiers & advanced Upgrades that keep it from drifting into the usual territory.
Above all, we think Gopnik delivers character, something sorely missing from other studio lineups. It’s gritty, quirky, & different, even if a little weird. Its max win sits at 6,666x your bet, which isn’t quite as high as Freak Show Revelation or Nip Tuck, but it’s still quite capable.
All in all, Sneaky Slots may come from a powerhouse lineage, but Gopnik shows they’re not relying on the family name to keep the momentum going.
