HyperCore Slot Review
A slot that pays out its jackpot of design effort before the first spin even resolves, HyperCore is easier to respect than to love. The reels themselves are almost wilfully dull: 7s, dice, BARs, cherries, a top pay of 7x. Snowborn has put nothing into the window display and everything behind it, which is a gamble of its own.
It’s a dense build for Snowborn Games, a studio whose recent output, from Fishing Max to Cash Flip Medusa Gold, has mostly favoured mid-volatility games with one or two collect twists. HyperCore runs in the same register: a 96% RTP, medium volatility, and a 5×3 grid with 20 fixed paylines. Stakes run from 0.20 to 40.00 per spin, with a hit rate of 28.05%.

Base Game & Features
The base game is a classic five-reel, three-row layout with 20 fixed paylines. Wins pay left to right from the first reel, and only the highest combination counts on each line.
The top of the screen is where it gets less classic: an extra reel sits above the main grid carrying four Booster slots, in play from the very first spin.
- 7 (Seven): 1x / 3x / 7x for three, four, five
- Dice: 0.5x / 1.3x / 5x
- BAR: 0.5x / 1.2x / 4x
- Cherry: 0.5x / 1.1x / 3x
- A: 0.2x / 0.5x / 1.5x
- K: 0.2x / 0.5x / 1x
- Q: 0.2x / 0.4x / 0.8x
- J: 0.2x / 0.4x / 0.6x
It’s a modest ladder. The Seven tops out at 7x for five of a kind, and the card royals fall away quickly below it. Payline wins aren’t where this game’s money lives.

Wild Symbols
Wilds appear anywhere during the base game and Hyper Spins, substituting for everything except Cash, Collect, Scatter, Booster, Token, Collector and Payer symbols. They can form their own winning combinations too.
In the base game only, a Wild may land with an overlay gem on top. Those gems feed the Bonus Booster Meter, which matters later. It’s the quiet mechanic doing the most long-term work in the game.
Cash Collect
Cash symbols land on reels one to four, carrying values from 0.2x up to 50x bet. The Collect symbol lands on reel five only. When one or more Cash symbols and a Collect land on the same spin, the sum of all visible Cash values is paid out.
It’s the engine of the whole game. Cash Collect works in the base game and in Hyper Spins, and it’s the trigger that fires any unlocked Boosters.
Boosters
Four Boosters sit on the top reel: Adder, Multi, Respin and Expand. Landing the same Booster three times in its slot unlocks it, and it stays sticky until the next Collect symbol lands, at which point it fires and resets.
- Adder: adds a random value, from 1x to 50x, to all Cash symbols on the reels
- Multi: multiplies all Cash values by a random 2x, 3x, 5x or 10x
- Respin: respins all non-Cash symbols once while the triggering Cash symbols stay sticky
- Expand: expands any reel holding Cash by adding extra Cash symbols, values 0.2x to 50x
Each activation is a single-use boost to one Cash Collect, not a persistent mode. The value depends entirely on what’s already on the reels when the Collect lands.
HyperCore Bonus Features: Hyper Spins and the Bonus
Hyper Spins
Three Scatter symbols on reels one, three and five trigger Hyper Spins. The round starts with 10 spins, played at the triggering bet, with the four Boosters active throughout. They begin locked, and collecting three of the same Booster unlocks it for the rest of the feature, firing on every Cash Collect from then on.
Retriggers are generous by the standard of the genre. Two Scatters on reels one and three award three extra spins, and three Scatters award ten more. All wins are totalled at the end of the round.

The Bonus
The Bonus is triggered at random by a non-winning Cash symbol landing in an orb on any base game spin. It’s a hold-and-collect round: five bonus spins to start, three random Cash prizes placed on the reels, and Cash symbols, Tokens and Special symbols landing as the round plays out. Cash values in the Bonus run from 1x to 50x bet.
The round ends when spins run out or the grid fills. The total is the sum of every Cash value on screen, and no extra prize is awarded for filling the grid, which is a mean touch worth knowing in advance.
Treasure Chests and the Bonus Booster Meter
Before the Bonus begins you open a Treasure Chest containing Tokens. Which chest is decided by the Bonus Booster Meter, the trail filled by overlay gems on Wilds in the base game. It runs three segments and 20 steps, starting at Blue, and resets after a full trail is played with, leaving you five steps ahead of where you started.
- Blue Chest: 3-4 random Tokens
- Green Chest: 5-6 random Tokens, unlocked at 10 steps
- Red Chest: 7-9 random Tokens plus a guaranteed filled Bonus Diamond
Bonus Diamonds and Special Symbols
Collect three Tokens of a type during the Bonus and the matching Diamond activates. Each, except the Spinner, fires once and then stays in effect until the round ends. The Spinner can repeat indefinitely, which makes it the one to chase.
- Sticky Collector Diamond: collects all Cash values on every spin
- Sticky Payer Diamond: draws a random value, 1x to 50x, and adds it to all Cash symbols each spin
- Spinner Diamond: awards five bonus spins, repeatable
- Expander Diamond: grows the grid from 5×3 to 5×5 for the rest of the round
Four Special symbols also land directly during the Bonus. The Payer adds its value to everything on screen then becomes Cash; the Collector scoops up all Cash values then becomes Cash itself. Their Sticky variants activate as persistent versions once three of their Tokens are collected.
Buy Bonus
Two purchases are on offer from the base game, and both skip the meter entirely, so you trade Bonus Booster Meter progress for certainty. Purchases run at their own theoretical returns, edging past the base game: 96.15% on the Hyper Spins buy and 96.50% on the Bonus buy.
- Hyper Spins: 65x bet
- Bonus with a Red Chest: 100x bet
Our Honest Verdict
Overall Rating: 7.4/10
The trade HyperCore asks you to accept is patience in the base game for payoff in the Bonus. Nothing about the reel set is fun on its own: the paytable tops out at 7x, and between Cash Collects there is genuinely not much happening. What you’re buying with that boredom is a meter that fills, a chest that upgrades, and a Bonus round that scales properly once the Diamonds line up.
It suits players who like watching systems accumulate, the hold-and-collect crowd who enjoy knowing a Red Chest is 20 steps away. It does not suit anyone who wants spectacle on the way there, and it’s honest to say the game does the spectacle worse than it does the systems: the theme is filler, the paytable is an afterthought, and filling the grid pays nothing extra, which is stingy for the genre.
Take the trade. The 100x Red Chest buy is fair value, the Buy Bonus RTPs edge above the base game, and when an Expander, a Sticky Collector and a run of Spinners arrive together, the round justifies everything the reels withheld to get there.
