Hypernova 10K Ways Slot Review
A nebula torn in half: cold blue starfield on one side, churning solar flare on the other, with the reels suspended in the gap between them. Hypernova 10K Ways is one of the better-looking space slots around, and it’s also one that hides a thin paytable behind all that light. Most of what happens between bonus rounds is spectacle, and the game is honest enough about it to make the spectacle worth watching anyway.
It’s a ReelPlay build, part of the same 10K Ways family as Hypernova Megaways and Hercules 10K Ways. The setup runs 6 reels with up to 10,000 ways to win, an RTP of 96.2%, and medium-high volatility under a 5,660x max win ceiling. Stakes run from 0.20 to 40 per spin. Armageddon 10K Ways walked similar ground and made a solid case for it; this one brings a ladder of fixed bonus prizes into the mix.
Base Game & Features
The grid is a 6×5 arrangement with a narrower extra row hovering detached above it. That top reel matters: it only feeds reels two through five, pushing a symbol down into the reel below it on every spin. The first and last reels get nothing from it. Wins pay left to right on adjacent reels, and only positions containing the winning symbol count towards the combination for that symbol.
Every winning symbol then explodes and is replaced by symbols dropping from above, and from the right along the top reel. That’s the chain reaction at the heart of the game: one win can clear space for another, which clears space for another still. The top reel replenishes from the right as its symbols fall into the gaps, so a fresh wild or premium can drop into a winning position mid-sequence.
Not everything on the grid is a paying symbol. A trophy marker showing x10 appears among the reels during play, and glowing orbs carrying cash values show up alongside the regular symbols. Both belong to the bonus system covered further down.
The wild substitutes for all symbols except the scatter, and it appears on the top reel only. That’s a useful but narrow job, since it can only ever complete combinations across the middle reels.
The paytable splits into high symbols and low symbols, and the gap between them is wide. At the default stake, values read like this:
- Top high symbol: 100x for six, 30x for five, 10x for four, 5x for three
- Second high symbol: 5x for six, 2.5x for five, 1.5x for four, 0.5x for three
- Third high symbol: 2.5x for six, 1.5x for five, 0.75x for four, 0.25x for three
- Fourth high symbol: 2x for six, 1x for five, 0.5x for four, 0.25x for three
- Low symbol one: 1.2x for six, 0.6x for five, 0.3x for four, 0.2x for three
- Low symbol two: 1x for six, 0.6x for five, 0.3x for four, 0.15x for three
- Low symbol three: 0.9x for six, 0.5x for five, 0.3x for four, 0.15x for three
- Low symbol four: 0.7x for six, 0.6x for five, 0.25x for four, 0.15x for three
- Low symbol five: 0.6x for six, 0.4x for five, 0.25x for four, 0.15x for three
- Low symbol six: 0.5x for six, 0.4x for five, 0.2x for four, 0.1x for three
Below the top symbol, the numbers fall away quickly, and six-of-a-kind royals pay well under a single stake. The chain reaction system is what gives those small figures any reach, stacking multiple modest wins into a single spin sequence.
The win evaluation rules reward those sequences. All wins are multiplied by the total bet, only the highest combination per symbol counts, and coinciding wins across different symbols are added together. A long chain of low-value wins can still add up to something worth the animation budget.
Hypernova 10K Ways Bonus Respins
Six or more scatters trigger the Bonus Respins, the round the whole game is built around. The triggering scatters lock in place and stay locked for the duration. Three respins are awarded, and every remaining position spins. Land a new scatter and it holds too, resetting the respin count to three.
The round runs until the respins run out with no new scatters, so a board that keeps landing them can extend indefinitely. Everything plays at the bet of the triggering spin, so the stake you’re carrying when six scatters arrive is the stake the whole round pays on.
When the round ends, every scatter on the grid reveals a prize or a bonus prize, with up to 28 in total available across the feature. Non-bonus prizes run from 1x to 100x the total bet, and the amounts shown over scatter symbols are already multiplied by the stake. Wilds don’t appear during the round, and the standard paytable is switched off for its duration.
It’s a pure collect game. Nothing lands during the respins except scatters, and everything else is decoration.
The Bonus Ladder
A four-tier ladder of fixed bonus prizes sits stacked in the top-left corner of the screen, drawn as a column of neon-outlined trophies from platinum down to bronze:
- Platinum Bonus: 2,000x total bet, once per feature
- Gold Bonus: 250x total bet, once per feature
- Silver Bonus: 50x total bet, can repeat
- Bronze Bonus: 10x total bet, can repeat
The once-only rule on the top two tiers caps how far a single round can climb. The repeat rule on Bronze and Silver does the opposite work, letting modest tiers stack up when the grid fills. The prizes aren’t progressive, so the ladder always pays exactly what it says.
Filling the grid is the dream scenario, and it’s where the biggest totals live. With 28 prize reveals possible and the ladder feeding the count, a full board of mixed prizes can climb towards the game’s ceiling. The scatter orbs seen carrying values during base play are the same symbols that reveal their worth here.
Our Honest Verdict
Overall Rating: 7.1/10
You spend most of a session in this game watching stars being born. Wins go off, symbols explode, the chain builds, and then the total lands somewhere south of your stake and the screen goes quiet again. The one reason to sit through that cycle is the respin round waiting at the end of it, and the halved nebula behind the reels is genuinely pleasant company in the meantime.
The bonus ladder is the best thing here, and it’s earned. Repeatable Silver and Bronze tiers mean a filling board keeps paying as it grows, while the single-shot Platinum at 2,000x gives the round a real summit rather than a vague promise. Where the game runs thin is between triggers: below the top premium, the paytable barely clears the stake, and there’s no second feature to break up the wait for six scatters.
For hold-and-collect players, that wait is the game, and this is a handsome version of it. Players who want their base spins to earn their keep will find the space between bonuses a little too empty. If the collect round is what you came for, the nebula is warm enough to wait in.
