Money Mariachi Infinity Reels Slot Review
Candles burn along a reel frame carved and painted like a shrine, sugar skulls watch from village walls and a full moon hangs over the rooftops of a Day of the Dead street. Money Mariachi Infinity Reels is built on an idea most slots flirt with and then cap: that a winning spin shouldn’t have to end. ReelPlay dress that idea in fiesta colours, and the result is one of the more characterful outings the growing-reel formula has had.
It runs on three reels by four rows to start, at 96.19% RTP with high volatility, and the round can stretch towards a 50,000x win cap. It shares the Infinity Reels engine with West Coast Cash Infinity Reels from 2022, and a studio with Hyper Respins. Stakes run from 0.20 to 40 per spin, and wins land on roughly one spin in four.
Base Game & Features
Every spin starts on three reels. If the rightmost reel improves any symbol combination, a fourth reel is added to the right and spun. If that one improves a combination too, a fifth follows, and so on until a reel fails to help. Wins are calculated once no new reel is added.
There’s no ceiling on how far the grid can grow, which is the whole idea. The mechanics of a round, in order:
- All spins begin with three reels
- An extra reel is added whenever the rightmost reel improves any symbol combination
- The new reel is spun, and the process repeats while it keeps improving combinations
- The round ends once no extra reel is added, and wins are paid
- No upper limit exists on the number of reels that can be added
Each time a reel is added, the Symbol Multiplier climbs by one, and it applies to all symbol wins except the Shrine. It starts at 1 in any new game and, like the reels themselves, has no stated limit. A five-reel run doubles every win; an eight-reel run multiplies them five times over.
The betting maths is slightly unusual. The base bet is the total bet divided by 20, and symbol wins are multiplied by that base value rather than the full stake. Symbols pay as scatters, left to right from the leftmost reel, with the pay calculated as the number of participating symbols multiplied by the symbol’s value.
The Shrine is the one exception to the left-to-right rule: it pays anywhere five or more of them take part. Coinciding wins for different symbols are added together.
The Guitar is the wild and substitutes for everything except the Shrine. It can’t help trigger the bonus, which keeps the Shrine’s job clean.
Land a long enough chain and the Infinity Bonus arrives: any game round that adds 12 or more reels pays 888x the total bet, during normal spins or during the respins. The Symbol Multiplier doesn’t apply to it, and it counts inside the 50,000x round cap.
Money Mariachi Infinity Reels Bonus Features
LevelUp Respins
Three or more Shrines trigger the LevelUp Respins, and this is where the mariachi band turns up. Three respins are awarded, all Shrines are held and every remaining position spins. New Shrines lock in place and reset the respins to three.
Each Shrine starts with a prize of 1x to 10x the bet. On every respin, each Shrine and special symbol collects skulls. Six skulls levels it up, adds another 1x to 10x to its prize and clears the count, ready to start accumulating again.
Whenever a reel fills with four Shrine or special symbols, a new reel is added to the right and spun, so the grid grows here too. Each time a Shrine levels up, it can transform into one of four special symbols, and they’re the band:
- Grower – levels up on every respin without needing skulls, adding 1x to 10x each time, and can hold up to three hearts from Charmers for extra level-ups
- Freezer – freezes the respin count for two respins, then turns back into a Shrine
- Booster – adds 1x to 10x to every surrounding Shrine or special symbol each time it levels up
- Charmer – cuts the skulls needed by surrounding symbols by one and feeds hearts to surrounding Growers
Surrounding positions for Boosters and Charmers are the eight spaces immediately around them: left, right, above, below and the four diagonals. Skull requirements can’t drop below one, and a new Shrine landing during a Freezer’s freeze still resets respins to three.
When the respins end, every held symbol pays its displayed prize. Three conditions frame the round:
- The Symbol Multiplier doesn’t apply to LevelUp Respins wins
- The round plays at the bet of the triggering spin
- Paytable symbol pays aren’t awarded during the round
Bonus Buy
Where the jurisdiction allows it, the LevelUp Respins can be bought outright. The cost is 100x the bet per spin, which buys a spin guaranteed to trigger the bonus, opening with between six and 15 reels already in play. The Infinity Bonus can still land on that triggering spin.
The buy’s own return runs at 97.06%, against the regular game’s 96.19%. At the top stake that’s a 4,000 outlay for a single guaranteed trigger, so it’s a purchase that wants a bankroll to match the volatility.
Our Honest Verdict
Overall Rating: 7.8/10
Most of your time here is two or three quiet reels under a gorgeous purple sky, and then a chain catches and the round refuses to end. That refusal is the appeal. Nobody spins this for tidy base wins; they spin it for the moment the fiesta starts and doesn’t know how to stop.
The respins round earns all of it: four special symbols pulling the prizes in different directions while the grid keeps growing, so a big run feels built rather than lucky. The price is everything around it. A three-reel start and a hit rate of one in four leave the streets quiet between fiestas, and nearly all of the interesting money sits behind three Shrines.
For players who enjoy a long build, it’s easy company and one of the better-looking versions of the formula ReelPlay work in. Chasers of frequent hits will find the waiting long. The band plays best for patient money.
