Inspector Gadget Slot Review
It’s dusk on a pastel cartoon street, the reels bolted into a scaffold of riveted steel pipes and cog-wheels, a dented dustbin slumped on the kerb and a wisp of chimney smoke trailing off a tower block. All that hand-drawn charm is doing a specific job: this is a slot that front-loads its personality and holds back almost all of its prize money until a ladder bonus opens, so the base game has to be likeable enough to carry you there.
The argument here is variety over scale. It runs on a 5×4 grid with 20 paylines, pays out at 94% RTP, and caps wins at 1,000x the total bet through its M.A.D Money round. It sits alongside Blueprint Gaming‘s other TV and film licences like The Goonies, Ted and King Kong Cash, and shares their habit of stacking features on features.
Base Game and Paytable
Wins form in the conventional way. Two to five matching symbols on consecutive reels from the left, across one of the 20 lines, and you’re paid. Only the highest combination counts on each line, all winning lines are added together, and scatter wins are added on top of line wins.
Line wins are multiplied by the value bet on the winning line. Stakes are chosen from a list of available total bet options, which vary by operator configuration and currency equivalent, so the range you see depends on where you play.
The bomb Wild substitutes for all symbols except the M.A.D Bonus scatter. It’s also the joint-richest symbol on the grid, paying exactly what the Inspector himself pays, so a wild-heavy reel is as good as a Gadget-heavy one.
Symbol pays are multiples of the total bet:
- Inspector Gadget Super Stacked: 2 pays 1x, 3 pays 20x, 4 pays 50x, 5 pays 250x
- Bomb Wild: 2 pays 1x, 3 pays 20x, 4 pays 50x, 5 pays 250x
- Car / Top Secret: 3 pays 10x, 4 pays 40x, 5 pays 150x
- Safe / Handcuffs: 3 pays 5x, 4 pays 30x, 5 pays 100x
- A / K: 3 pays 4x, 4 pays 20x, 5 pays 50x
- Q / J: 3 pays 2x, 4 pays 5x, 5 pays 25x
The ladder is steep from the second row down, and the royals are change-makers rather than prize-givers. What softens it is the Super Stacked treatment on the top symbol. Because the Inspector lands in stacks, a full reel of him can pay across several of the 20 lines at once.
Stack that reel next to a couple of bomb wilds and the same spin can collect the top line win two or three times over on different paylines. It’s the mechanism the base game’s bigger hits run through, and it’s the reason a wild-heavy reel is worth as much as it is here.
GO GO Gadget Spin
During any spin, Inspector Gadget can appear at random and set off the GO GO Gadget Spin, activating one of five modifiers. There’s no symbol collection or meter feeding it. It can happen on any spin, including losing ones, which is what keeps the base game from going quiet.
The five possible missions are:
- Mission Colossal Symbols
- Mission M.A.D Added
- Mission Penny Stacked Wilds
- Mission Mystery Brain
- Mission Gadget Wilds
Colossal Symbols drops oversized blocks onto the grid, where a single giant symbol can cover the equivalent of several ordinary positions and complete multiple lines at once. Penny Stacked Wilds and Gadget Wilds both add wilds to the reels, stacked in the first case, and Mystery Brain brings mystery symbols that reveal a single matching symbol type.
M.A.D Added works the other direction, feeding the game’s agents-and-conspiracy imagery into the reels. And the expanding reels are the one to watch for: when the GO GO Gadget alert sounds, the reel set can grow, and a bigger grid with 20 fixed lines means more ways for the stacked and colossal symbols to connect.
The M.A.D Bonus Ladder
Three or more M.A.D Bonus scatter symbols anywhere on the reels open the M.A.D Bonus. From there it’s a ladder climb: move up the ladder to win one of five bonuses, decided by spinning a wheel. Which of the five you land decides the shape of the whole round, and they range from pick-me games to the free spins modes to the top-prize endgame.
Safe Heist Bonus
A cracking-the-safe round in the pick-me tradition, won by landing on Safe Heist on the bonus wheel. With the show’s safes and handcuffs already sitting in the paytable, the round keeps the detective dressing throughout.
Dr Claw’s M.A.D Agent Bonus
The villain of the piece takes the chair for this one. It’s the second wheel-awarded round, setting Gadget against Dr Claw’s agents, and again the wheel decides whether you get it.
Every Penny Counts Free Spins
A free spins round named for Penny, Gadget’s niece and the real brains of the operation. The spin count isn’t published, so the round holds that detail back until you’re in it.
M.A.D Dash Free Spins
The second free spins mode, also won from the wheel. It keeps its spin count back too, and both rounds sit below M.A.D Money on the prize ladder.
M.A.D Money
The biggest of the five endgames, and the round the whole paytable builds towards. M.A.D Money is where the game’s ceiling sits: it can pay up to 1,000x the total bet, making it the only route to the slot’s top prizes.
Our Honest Verdict
Overall Rating: 6.4/10
Playing this is like babysitting the bumbling inspector himself: charming, occasionally chaotic, and rarely as rewarding as it looks. Somebody chooses it for the variety, and that’s a real reason. Five random modifiers and five endgames mean no two sessions follow the same route.
The base game is the strongest thing here. A modifier can land on any spin, including a losing one, so there’s no stretch of dead spins without a question hanging over it, and the stacked top symbols can pay across several lines at once.
The weakness is the ladder’s imbalance: M.A.D Money carries nearly all the prize weight, and climbing your way to a free spins round instead lands like a consolation. It’s one for fans of the cartoon and players who enjoy a slot with many moving parts; anyone hunting four-figure multiples will find the ceiling low. For a nostalgic, busy session on a pastel street at dusk, it delivers.
