ITERO Slot Review
A marble warrior stands at the right edge of the reels, spear raised, carved from the same grey stone as the columns behind him. Nearly everything in ITERO’s shadowed Greco-Roman hall is that colour, and the restraint is the argument: where most mythology slots reach for gold and fire, this one keeps almost every colour out of the frame and lets a single electric-cyan wordmark do the talking.
Hacksaw Gaming build it that way, and back the look with solid maths: a 5×4 grid, 20 fixed paylines, 96.18% RTP and a 10,000x ceiling on a game whose predecessor, Itero Echospins, already ran this engine. If the temple appeals, Ze Zeus and Le Zeus cover similar ground in the studio’s catalogue.
Base Game & Features
Matching symbols pay along the game’s 20 predefined lines when they land on adjacent reels from the leftmost one onwards. Only the highest win per line counts. Separate wins in a round are added together and shown as a single total.
The wild, a wolf-like head marked WILD, substitutes for all low and high paying symbols. Five of it pays 10x the total bet, which ties the red bust as the richest symbol on the board.
The paytable splits into three tiers. Up top are the busts, carved heads in coloured circles that carry all the real value. Below them sit the Diamond and the royals, with the IO and J propping up the bottom. A full line of the best bust pays a hundred times what a full line of the worst one does.
The paying symbols, at multiples of the total bet:
- Bust (red circle): 10x for five, 4x for four, 2x for three
- Bust (teal/cyan and orange circles): 6x for five, 2x for four, 0.7x for three
- Bust (blue and green circles): 4x for five, 1.5x for four, 0.5x for three
- Diamond, K, A: 2x for five, 1x for four, 0.2x for three
- IO, J: 1x for five, 0.5x for four, 0.1x for three
- Wild: 10x for five
Multiplier Symbols
Multiplier symbols land on the reels in two forms, and neither is worth anything on its own:
- Additive: 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x or 10x
- Multiplicative: x2 or x3
That’s the point of the whole design. Multipliers are not applied to any wins except during EchoSpins, so a 10x sitting on reel five in the base game is a promise, not a payout. Everything about ITERO is built around collecting those promises and cashing them in one moment.
Hand of Jupiter and EchoSpins
The Hand of Jupiter is where those promises are kept. It has one job, and it only does it when the reels cooperate:
- The Hand of Jupiter lands together with at least one winning payline
- It reveals a number of EchoSpins for that phase, between one and eight
- Each EchoSpin is a copy of the triggering spin, repeating all wins and multipliers from the spin before
- Multipliers stack progressively into the total multiplier value shown above the reels
- The new total is applied to all winning paylines on the spin
A phase that starts modestly can finish with a multiplier several layers deep, and the depth builds with every respin rather than resetting between them. Additive values pile on top of each other, and the multiplicative x2 or x3 can double or treble the whole running total at a stroke.
That stacking is how a 20-line game with a modest paytable produces a 10,000x ceiling. The base game pays for the wait; the Hand decides how long the wait pays.
ITERO Bonus Features & Free Spins
Free Spin symbols appear only in the base game, and the count matters more than you’d expect. Three triggers one bonus, four triggers a different one. Both award 10 free spins, but they treat the multiplier system in opposite ways.
Wrath of Jupiter
Three Free Spin symbols awards 10 free spins in which the Hand of Jupiter appears more readily, with a better chance of a greater number of EchoSpins and higher multipliers. It’s the same machinery as the base game, dialled up: more hands, deeper phases, bigger stacks.
Because the multipliers stack progressively through every phase, a long run of respins here can snowball quickly. A phase of eight EchoSpins that begins with a 3x and a couple of additive values already stacked can end far beyond where it started.
Gift from the Gods
Four Free Spin symbols awards 10 free spins that work differently. All landed multipliers are saved into the total multiplier above the reels, and during the EchoSpins phases here the multiplier doesn’t grow progressively. Instead, the total collected before the Hand of Jupiter landed is used for every respin in the phase.
That collected total resets after each completed EchoSpins phase and has to be built again. So the two bonuses pull in opposite directions: Wrath compounds within a phase, Gift banks across the round and spends in one go.
Bonus Buy
Both bonuses are available through the BUY BONUS button:
- Wrath of Jupiter: 10 free spins with the boosted Hand of Jupiter odds, running at 96.2% RTP
- Gift from the Gods: 10 free spins with the saved total multiplier, running at 96.25% RTP
Both buys sit marginally above the 96.18% default, so the value difference between buying and waiting is close to nothing. The choice is about which flavour of multiplier you want, not which one pays better.
Stakes run from 0.10 to 100.00 per spin either way, and the 10,000x cap applies to bought rounds the same as natural ones.
Our Honest Verdict
Overall Rating: 7.7/10
Long stretches of ITERO are quiet. The temple is dim, the wins are small, and everything runs on one symbol: land the Hand of Jupiter alongside a winning line and the game suddenly pays several times over in the same breath. That mechanic, in that setting, is the reason anybody chooses it.
The strength is the pair of bonus rounds, which genuinely differ rather than reskinning one another. The weakness is everything between them: a paytable that tops out at 10x for five wilds makes the base game thin, and the buy prices sit so close to the default RTP that they don’t shortcut the waiting.
It suits patient players who enjoy a build with a payoff worth studying, and it looks like nothing else around: a greyscale Rome lit by a single strip of cyan. Anyone after constant action will find these halls too quiet. For the rest, Jupiter’s hand is worth the wait.
ITERO FAQs
-
What is the RTP of ITERO?
The RTP is 96.18%. Buying either bonus nudges it slightly: 96.2% for Wrath of Jupiter and 96.25% for Gift from the Gods. -
How do EchoSpins work in ITERO?
When the Hand of Jupiter lands together with at least one winning payline, it reveals between one and eight EchoSpins. Each one is a copy of the triggering spin, repeating all wins and multipliers, stacking the multipliers progressively into the total above the reels and applying that total to all winning paylines. -
What is the difference between the two ITERO bonuses?
Wrath of Jupiter, from three Free Spin symbols, gives 10 free spins with more frequent Hands of Jupiter, deeper EchoSpins phases and higher multipliers. Gift from the Gods, from four symbols, saves every landed multiplier into a total that pays out on each respin of a phase, then resets after that phase completes. -
Do multiplier symbols pay in the ITERO base game?
No. Multiplier symbols, additive or multiplicative, are only applied to wins during EchoSpins. In the base game they land as inert symbols. -
What does the Hand of Jupiter symbol do?
When it lands together with at least one winning payline, it reveals the number of EchoSpins awarded for that phase, between one and eight. It needs a winning payline to trigger; landing alone does nothing. -
Can you buy the bonus on ITERO?
Yes. Both bonuses can be bought via the BUY BONUS button: Wrath of Jupiter at 96.2% RTP and Gift from the Gods at 96.25% RTP. -
What is the maximum win on ITERO?
The maximum achievable win is 10,000 times your bet. -
Who makes ITERO, and what are the betting limits?
ITERO is a Hacksaw Gaming title on a 5×4 grid with 20 paylines. Stakes run from 0.10 to 100.00 per spin.
