Jingle Bells Slot Review
Santa is hiding behind the curtain, the fire is lit, and the snow is falling past the window panes of a Christmas Eve living room. It’s a lovely frame, but Red Tiger haven’t put their imagination into the reels of Jingle Bells – they’ve put it all into a single bonus round, and left the base game as plain five-reel filler. Whether that’s enough depends entirely on how much you enjoy walking Santa up a prize path.
Underneath the tinsel it’s a straightforward 5×3 game with 20 win lines and an RTP of 96.28%, running stakes from 0.10 to 50 per spin. The ceiling is 800x your stake, well below what Jingle Bells Bonanza 2 offered in 2025, and quieter too than Christmas Morning from the same studio. What Jingle Bells offers instead is a pair of simple scatter features.
How the Base Game Pays
All symbols pay from left to right on adjacent reels, starting from the leftmost reel, across the game’s 20 win lines. Only the highest combination on each line counts. It’s the classic Red Tiger setup, and there’s nothing here that will surprise anyone who has spun a five-reel game before.
The wild is a gift box, and it’s quietly the best-paying symbol on the board, ahead of even the bells. It substitutes for other symbols to complete wins, stepping in for anything except the two scatters, and it carries its own paytable entries:
- Wild: 4x for three, 10x for four, 20x for five
- Bells: 0.1x for two, 3x for three, 8x for four, 16x for five
- Star: 2x for three, 4x for four, 8x for five
- Ornament: 1.8x for three, 3.5x for four, 7x for five
- Stocking: 1.5x for three, 3x for four, 6x for five
- Candy Cane: 1.2x for three, 2.5x for four, 5x for five
- A: 1x for three, 2x for four, 4x for five
- K: 0.8x for three, 1.5x for four, 3x for five
- Q: 0.5x for three, 1x for four, 2x for five
- J: 0.2x for three, 0.8x for four, 1.5x for five
- 10: 0.2x for three, 0.5x for four, 1x for five
The shape of that table is steep rather than gradual: the seasonal symbols lead at every combination length, and the card royals trail them throughout. Bells are the only symbol that pays for two of a kind, which makes them the one to watch for even on near-miss spins. Five of a kind is where the real value sits.
Three royals in a row won’t cover much more than a minimum-stakes spin, so the base game lives or dies on the themed icons landing together. The wild helps there. Because it pays as the richest symbol on the board while also completing other combinations, a gift box in the right position can turn a losing line into a win and a small win into a decent one.
The win lines themselves are fixed at 20, numbered and laid out in the conventional patterns: horizontals across each row, plus the diagonals and zig-zags that criss-cross the three rows. Wins on multiple lines in a single spin add together, which is how the bigger base-game payouts arrive.
Two scatters sit alongside the paying symbols. The Bonus scatter, Santa’s Bonus, can land on any reel, and the Free Spins scatter works the same way. Neither pays directly and neither needs to sit on a win line; both open doors instead.
Santa’s Big Bonus
Three or more Santa’s Bonus symbols anywhere on the reels activate Santa’s Big Bonus, a pick-and-move path game where the prizes run up to 800x your stake. It’s the game’s centrepiece and the source of its biggest payouts.
Once you’re in, you pick gifts. Each gift awards between one and six steps along the path, and Santa walks the number of steps you’ve been given, collecting the prize on the house he lands on. The round keeps going until a gift reveals the collect option alongside its steps, at which point Santa takes his final strides and pockets whatever waits there.
The order of events matters. Steps are always applied before the collect takes effect, so even the ending gift moves Santa first and pays the house he reaches, not the one he stood on. A short final award can therefore finish the round on a better prize than a long one, which keeps every pick worth watching.
The shortcuts are the other half of the design. Some houses are connected by red ribbons, and if Santa steps on one of them he immediately slides along the ribbon to the house at the far end. Land a ribbon near the top of the path and a modest step award turns into something much bigger.
Because every gift carries both a possibility and an ending, no pick is a dead one. A one-step award can still land Santa on a ribbon and skip him forward; a six-step award can carry him straight past the better houses. The prize you finish on depends on where the collect happens to sit as much as on how generously the gifts treat you, which is a fair structure for a round capped at 800x.
Free Spins
The second scatter is a plain Free Spins symbol. Land three or more of them and the Free Spins round begins, which the game sells on one promise: big wins. There’s no complicated modifier to explain and no choice to make; it’s the simpler of the two features.
What the round adds beyond a stack of spins is deliberately little. The reels keep their base-game symbols, the wild keeps substituting, and the win lines stay fixed at 20. The appeal is concentration rather than transformation: more spins in a row, with the same maths underneath.
Our Honest Verdict
Overall Rating: 7.1/10
Playing Jingle Bells is mostly waiting by the fireplace: you sit in a beautifully drawn Christmas Eve living room, spinning a base game that does nothing remarkable, and you wait for Santa to come out from behind the curtain. The waiting is the whole reason to pick it, because the path bonus at the end of it is genuinely good.
Santa’s Big Bonus is the strength, and it earns it. The ribbons make every pick matter, since the smallest step award can still slide Santa straight up the path, and that tension holds all the way to the collect. The weakness is everything around it: the free spins round is filler, and an 800x ceiling is modest for a game asked to carry a whole review on one feature.
This one suits players after a slow, cosy seasonal session at low stakes, who’d rather have one well-built bonus than a pile of half-measures. Chasers of big festive max wins will get restless by the second carol. For the right player, though, it’s a warm evening by the tree.
