Jungle Jim Gold Blitz Slot Review
Gold columns hold the reels up in the air like ceremonial poles, hieroglyph-carved sandstone recedes into a dusty amber gloom behind them, and a colossal statue looms over the whole scene. It’s a tomb that has learned to show off. Stormcraft Studios have draped their latest in all of it, and then built something better underneath: a bonus round that asks you to choose, and makes the choice matter.
The maths is solid too: 96.00% RTP, high volatility, a 6×4 grid with 4,096 ways to win, and stakes from 0.20 to 50.00 per spin. Sitting alongside Thunderstruck Stormchaser and Immortal Romance 2 in the studio’s catalogue, it carries the same glossy pedigree, with one genuinely interesting decision at its heart.
Base Game & Features
Wins pay left to right across the six reels, starting from the leftmost one, and a way is a pattern of adjacent positions running across them. Only the highest winning combination counts per way, and if several winning combinations land on a single way, again only the highest pays.
Way wins are multiplied by the bet multiplier, which is the total bet divided by 10. The total payout for a spin is the sum of all way wins and Scatter wins. It’s a standard ways setup, and at 4,096 routes the grid has plenty of room to work with.
The static win values on the reels during play are the Cash symbols doing their job. They appear on all reels in the base game, carrying values from 0.5x to 20x the total bet, and they don’t pay a thing on their own. Something has to come and collect them.
Collect Feature
A Collect Symbol lands on reel 1 or reel 6, and when it does, every Cash and Jackpot symbol on the grid is paid out at once. Each Collect Symbol awards all landed values, so a pair of them sweeps the board twice.
Jackpot symbols work the same route. BONUS and MAJOR jackpot symbols sit on the reels like Cash symbols and are collected by the same trigger, so a single well-timed Collect can take the lot. Both collections happen at the end of the spin, once the reels have settled.
The Wild Symbol appears on reels 2 through 6 in the base game and substitutes for everything except the Scatter, Cash, Jackpot and Collect symbols. It doesn’t pay anything itself.
Scatter and the Bonus Choice
Three or more Scatters award a payout and then a choice: Free Spins or Gold Blitz. The more Scatters you land, the more of either you get, and the exchange rate between the two modes is fixed.
- 3 Scatters: 8 Free Spins or 2 Gold Blitz spins
- 4 Scatters: 12 Free Spins or 3 Gold Blitz spins
- 5 Scatters: 20 Free Spins or 5 Gold Blitz spins
- 6 Scatters: 30 Free Spins or 7 Gold Blitz spins
The Scatter can’t be substituted by a Wild, so there’s no shortcut to the trigger. Whichever mode you pick plays out at the bet of the triggering spin.
Jungle Jim Gold Blitz: Free Spins and Gold Blitz
Free Spins
Free Spins strips the game back to ways wins and turns the Wilds up. Collect, Cash and Jackpot symbols don’t appear at all, so there’s nothing to sweep up. What you get instead is Wilds on reels 2, 3 and 4.
Each Wild carries a 2x, 3x or 5x multiplier when it forms part of a way win, and each Wild’s multiplier applies to that way’s win. More than one Wild in a way stacks the effect, which is what the round is built to chase.
Retriggers are where the round grows. Landing Scatters during the feature adds more spins on a fixed ladder, and the round plays out automatically once it’s running. Wins during the feature are added to base game wins.
- 2 Scatters: 5 additional Free Spins
- 3 Scatters: 8 additional Free Spins
- 4 Scatters: 12 additional Free Spins
- 5 Scatters: 20 additional Free Spins
- 6 Scatters: 30 additional Free Spins
Gold Blitz
Gold Blitz is the other half of the choice, and it’s a different animal. Only Collect, Cash and Jackpot symbols appear on the reels. A Collect Symbol is guaranteed on reel 1 every spin.
A second Collect may also land on reel 6, and that one additionally collects all the Cash and Jackpot symbols on the board in a single hit. Cash values still run from 0.5x to 20x the bet.
It can’t be retriggered, so what you buy or trigger is what you get. With a Collect locked in on every spin, it’s the mode built for certainty rather than multipliers.
Bonus Buy
The Bonus Buy button sits in the left panel during the base game and purchases either bonus outright, at fixed prices tied to the Scatter count. Buying 4 or 5 Scatters carries a chance of more Scatters being awarded on top.
- 4 Scatters: 12 Free Spins or 3 Gold Blitz spins, at 75x bet
- 5 Scatters: 20 Free Spins or 5 Gold Blitz spins, at 120x bet
- 6 Scatters: 30 Free Spins or 7 Gold Blitz spins, at 150x bet
Both features play at the current bet, and the buy runs at 96.25% RTP, a touch above the base figure. It’s a base-game option only, and it may not be available above certain bet thresholds or in every location. The feature ends after the final Free Spins or Gold Blitz spin completes.
Our Honest Verdict
Overall Rating: 7.7/10
This is mostly a waiting game with a very good reward at the end of it. You grind through ways wins and the odd Collect sweep while a giant statue watches from the gloom, and the reason to choose it over plainer temples is that the Scatters eventually ask you a question most slots never do: which bonus do you actually want?
That choice is the best thing here. Free Spins and Gold Blitz reward completely different instincts, and the retrigger ladder makes the multiplier route genuinely deep rather than a one-shot. The worst thing is the base game itself: Cash symbols landing with no Collect in sight builds a lot of tension that mostly doesn’t pay.
It’s one for players who enjoy deciding, and who don’t mind a quiet grind between Scatters. Anyone after constant action from the first spin will find the temple dusty. For the patient type, there’s real gold under this one.
